I just realized something, the aftermath of the battle actually looks insane, just imagine waddling over to the next floor and you see the DEAD DISEMBOWELED and MANGLED corpse of a RED DRAGON next to a CRATER surrounded by FORBIDDEN TRANSMUTATION CIRCLES.
Like if I saw that shit i'm walking myself all the way back up and finding something else to do in ANY other floor, cause whatever the hell took place there is most absolutely NONE OF MY DAMN BUSINESS, I tell you that.

just to make it clear, it was never stated that falin and shuro were dating, they only said that shuro had a crush on falin, and laios was 100% oblivious to that. Since the siblings are pretty similar it's not a stretch to say that falin was also oblivious af lmao

Yeah, I don’t know why people take Shuro having feelings for Falin as Falin reciprocating in any way. It’s kinda weird. Like, yeah, he likes her but it’s never stated she likes him. So why are people acting like they some couple or something.

If I remember correctly dnd has an actual mechanic where you can become a half dragon by bathing in the blood of a dragon.
Ey, they never said Falin and Shuro were a thing, they just said shiro was in love with her, far as we know she was just as dense to his feelings as laios was.
One detail I really like is that when she meets Kensuke, Falin asks if it's a pulmonata. Pulmonata are the major group of air-breathing slugs and snails. She really is a huge nerd just like her brother.
In this episode we learned a important piece of info about Laios and Falin: being weird is apperently a family trait for them.
Considering their parents sound like stick-in-the-muds, I have wondered where they get it from.

There's a manga-only extra actually where Laios is shown growing out his facial hair, Falin mentions how it makes him look more like dad, and he immediately shaves it off.
Recently the author made some extra content showing more of their parents and... Yep, it really is in the family

Falin's eyes are canonically because she's nearsighted and is squinting to see
14:30 I think they were pausing to eat because some of the nutrients from the dragon came from Falin while she was being digested. So maybe it was just a little too close to cannibalism for them until Falin gave her OK to go ahead.
Edit: or at least that's my take on it.

Fun fact, some of the bonus content from the manga confirmed that being reconstructed completely trough revival and dragon flesh fixed Falin's eyesight, so that's why stops squinting as much after this point in the story.

17:37 That is a really bad sign. The instant full covering strong defensive magic was certainly a shock, but the living armor sword jumping away from Falin is a clear sign that something is wrong. It has never reacted strongly to humans, only monsters. And now it's jumping away from her like it did to the dragon. It senses that she is a monster, a very powerful one.
When she comes back, look at her face and where her hand is at. Left eye is closed and she holds her neck. Dragon got its left eye destroyed and bled out through a neck wound. Farlin didnt come back alone.

There's the detail that when firen wakes up, she covers her neck and her right eye is closed, just like the dragon, with his eye harmed and killed by being stabbed in his neck.
If Falin wasnt there Senshi would have been a part of fantasy *LiveLeak* with that explosion.
I really liked how Laios cared about Falin so much that he even thought to reconstruct the other bodies just so that the resurrection spell would have the greatest chance of working.
Just to clarify, Falin and Shuro aren't actually together. Shuro only proposed, but Falin is yet to actually reciprocate

I'm guessing the reason it's forbidden is because the technique brings the target closer to the nature of the material in some sense, if they used goats or pigs, the targets would become more goat or pig-like, and the only way to circumvent that would be to use people, so I can see why it would be forbidden, I suspect Falin may show more interest in shinies in the future

It's a small detail but I really like that Kensuke's feet are covered in blood. Also, Kensuke 100% said, "Put up yo dukes!"
Falin doesn't have a man, its just that the Japanese guy has a crush on her. I think.
Looks pretty safe to say that Elf at the end is probably the Mad Mage. Partly because he's our only suspect, but there is reason to suspect him. Anime only here, so I'm speculating and theorizing. I'm not basing this on any sort of manga stuff.
Regardless, they seemed awfully interested in the non koshur resurrection runes.
Manga completionist back again here, and I am BEATING MYSELF IN THE HEAD REAL HARD to keep my trap shut about anything that could be clued in from this episode, just know that we're going places. I can't even go with 'All I can say is..' because that's too leading as well... nrhgh! just-- glad we've reached this point, and there's definitely one more to go, but they are out of their MINDS if they don't keep going after this, there's still like 3/4s of a story to go!
As to the episode details, I do love the presentation of the ancient magic, and the whole process there, it's a cool episode with some great moments AND Senshi finally achieving his dream from the first chapter. Very cool (and lovely) detail of Marcille double-checking her work too, just in case. Just because its magic doesn't make it perfect. >,<
Kensuke puttin' em up was real cute though, like "C'mon, bring it in, tough guy! I got a mean right hook! Kick the CRAP outta ya, let's go!"
and yeah, we can't talk about all that Senshi grundle on display, but Marci and Falin touch hands for a sec-- *LEBBBSIAAAAANN!* C'mon~
As a show only person I will say I may of just been too hurt by other shows but I just feel like something is off with falin everyone keeps repeating everything is OK and kensuke has only recoiled in the presence of monsters but also when she reached toward it

fun fact: Falin tends to have her eyes closed because she´s very nearsighted, so she just squints really hard all the time
it´s also why she just has her eyes open now, the dragon powerup fixed her eyesight
So a bit of an explanation of the dark magic thing. Everything Marcille did to resurect Falin is theoretically possible with normal magic, it would just use a rediculous amount of mana that no one has. All the dark magic was doing was drawing power from a dimension of infinite energy. Cool huh?
Alicia, I’m sure others have told you at this point, but that show you keep getting recommended on Netflix, Blue Eyed Samurai would be RIGHT up your alley.

she just specializes in highly taboo and illegal dark magics that deal with tearing apart the fabric of reality and rewriting it.
she's actually one of the scariest mages in the show because of her area of study, thankfully she's an absolute angel who would never use it to harm even an ant

From what I've heard, the Samurai's affections were never actually voiced or acted on. Though Fallin could be bi or pan. I'm not going to discount those options. We'll just have to wait and see.

tbf, Kui designed elves in her work as very androgynous. The canaries with the exception of few, can easily pass as either gender. Theres a reason why Marcille isn't androgynous but thats a spoiler for another day
