@@JohnSmith-ox3gy i think your thinking of ball turrets the bucket gunners are not in turrets they are in metal buckets with machine guns and seemingly no exit other then the ground.

I used to play the TB3 in IL2 Sturmovik where I would just generate the quick mission with an air start at about 8000 meters then I would shut down all the engines and try to glide it back to base . Fun times.
Your a legend, i completely forgot what the game was called, I'd always shoot the plane to see what would happen
Once I played campaign with it,on Smolensk,got heavily damaged,my engines couldn't keep plane in the air, but managed to glide and bounce back to base by just jumping and running of the ground with it.In war thunder you wouldn't have been able to do it.
