  • A little over a year ago I put my juvenile Argentine Black & White Tegu into his adult Animal Plastics T100 enclosure. After a good length of time, do I recommend Animal Plastics enclosures? Is the T100 worth the price tag? How has this enclosure fared throughout the last year? What are the positives and negatives of the Animal Plastics T100 enclosure? Watch the video to find out!

    ★About Professor Herp★
    I started getting into the reptile hobby in February of 2018. My first reptile was my Bearded Dragon - Maxine Pegasus (creator of duel monsters btw). Since then, I have added five Yellow Ackie Monitors (Asus, Dell, LG, and two unnamed babies), a Chacoan Black and White Tegu (Frappuccino), a Crested Gecko (Destin), and a Russian Tortoise (Tortellini). I also have a dog named Thrall (yes, from World of Warcraft) who is a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix - aka a Chiweenie.
    My goal with this channel is to share my knowledge, experience and journey with other reptile/animal enthusiasts and become a better caretaker because of it. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the community through these videos.

    Solid review, Professor Herp. Love Animal Plastics enclosures. We currently have 6 of them, with 2 more being picked up in a couple of weeks. We live only a couple of hours away from AP, so we're able to save on shipping by picking the enclosures up in person. I've customized every enclosure they've built for us and they haven't disappointed us yet. I've even drop shipped lights to them and they've installed them exactly where my PDF diagram shows for placement. I would say the only negative is the longer lead times, because they make such great enclosures and it's hard to beat their pricing and customization. But, they're moving into a larger facility very soon and have added a second CNC machine.

      Lucky! And yes I heard they are increasing in size. I would really love to order some enclosures from them for some Ackies but I cannot wait 8 months. Should be great when they bring that lead time down!

      @JohnnyTaxonomy Před 2 lety

      I would agree with that concern. For the size of this enclosure and the level of constant moisture and humidity inside, it should have more vents.

    Great review! I'm curious how difficult it would be to add more platforms to maximize the vertical space in this enclosure?

    • @ProfessorHerp
      @ProfessorHerp  Před 2 lety

      wouldn't be to easy with this big of a reptile. May take to much from the horizontal space

  • @joshhernandez538
    @joshhernandez538 Před 4 lety +1

    with such a deep liter damn, do you plan to fill it with more substrate? That could help in regards to the UVB placement since it is seemingly out of range for proper absorbtion when mounted to the top.

    • @ProfessorHerp
      @ProfessorHerp  Před 4 lety

      I do not plan too. But yes it would help and I did not consider that in my video when I was trashing that custom option haha. I do still think they should be horizontal but would not be surprised if AP would accommodate that.

  • @tjunk1493
    @tjunk1493 Před rokem

    Curious - when you rehung the UVB fixtures, it looks like you just used hooks and drilled directly into the plastic? I'm guessing the length of the screw portion isn't longer than the thickness of the plastic, so you don't have anything poking through the top.

    Hey Professor, thank you for the review. I am expecting my T 100 at the beginning of June. Did the plug sockets on the roof come standard? Or were they an added item? I did not see it on the customization list.

      Like DBCB Exotics mentioned, it's a customizable option. $15 each/installed. Well worth it in my opinion.

      Did I say they were standard? I may have. Like Cole and Dbcb said they are custom options. If you have any questions call the AP customer support #. They are super helpful!

      no night heat for me. Didnt need the megaray. Arcadia uvb was producing enough. :)

  • @Dragon-ej1yc
    @Dragon-ej1yc Před 4 lety

    I ordered it with sliding glass doors! I’m not putting them on until I’ve finished everything I’m doing to the inside so I don’t have a picture, but I can describe how it works. You still have the litter dam, but the two glass doors will cover the entire front of the cage, from ceiling to floor, with the litter damn behind them. So it’s two very heavy panes of glass, roughly 4x4.

    • @ProfessorHerp
      @ProfessorHerp  Před 4 lety +1

      I wish I could see a picture! Having trouble imagining this haha. Do they slide in front and behind one another?

    • @Dragon-ej1yc
      @Dragon-ej1yc Před 4 lety

      Professor Herp I’ll definitely be taking photos when it’s all done, and most likely some video! Think I may be able to finish this weekend. From the looks of it, I’m pretty certain that’s how they’re going to work.

      @@ProfessorHerp How would I show you Pictures? Mine has the glass doors. I hope you see this because im wondering where you got your light fixtures for the flood lights? AP didnt offer them, if you got them from AP, Do they have a brand and part or model number? Has the plastic handled the heat ok?

  • @countryacademy9053
    @countryacademy9053 Před 2 lety

    Finally got my t100 set up with the sliding doors. They send 3m tape handles that are absolutely worthless being the glass is a 4x4 and probably 50+lbs.

      I would think the PVC is to thick. May be a hazard as well depending on how you set it up. I would maybe reach out to AP and ask.

    I just ordered a T100 using your name. I went with the 12" litter dam? Should I change it to 18"? Where did you get the light sockets? What's the substrate depth? Also, what are the dimensions of the platform box you have? What lighting is used for night time? I know I asked a lot of questions but I'm very happy with what you put together and want to replicate it for my B&W. Thank you for the original video and the follow up review!

    • @ProfessorHerp
      @ProfessorHerp  Před 4 lety

      Depends how much substrate you want to offer. Either one is doable. AP installed the light fixtures. The substrate depth is 12-18". Platform: 45"x14"x17". No night time lighting. Hope that helps!
