I got mine from Acks exotic pets and they’re cheap for a reptile such as them and I use coco husk as a substrate because it’s easier for them to dig and mine eats Lots of lettuce

Well mines in a Glass Enclosure but the glass is extremely thick but I have him a good diet, and good temperature and good humidity and he doesn’t spend a lot of time in his Enclosure because I take him outside a lot so he can graze and walk a lot and he also walks around my house with supervision

What kind of heating temps can you get from those Hallogen Flood lights?? I just got a Red Baby Ackie after my Savannah Monitor passed away. I had one of my Savannahs for almost 20 years and the most recent one I had lived for about 6 years.. The person I got him from didn't know about the UVB and he was already battling MBD. So I got a Red Ackie who is amazing.. He is a very good eater. Bouncing daily between crickets and dubias.. For some reason he wont even try a wax worm.. He looks at them like I look at Asparagus.. LOL I also got him superworms but I heard what you said about giving them Supers as adults.. Can they have them as young monitors? I havent offered him Supers yet but just bought some yesterday.. I also got the zoo med excavator clay which I mist daily.. The tank seems to hold excellent himidity at about 58-68 % basking is about 110-118 degrees. But he is so much fun to watch eat

I have been doing a lot of research before I getting my first Russian tortoise. These videos have been incredibly helpful. I do have a few questions though... I understand the problem with glass, I'm less clear on the problem with a screen; If it won't contain enough moister why do so many people have an open top enclosure? Is that a bad idea? So far my plan was to have a wooden enclosure with a metal screen for a roof. Where can you buy a tortoise that hasn't been collected in the wild? Do they mind being picked up?

Spring tales I use a charchole brick and a tube that's Dark and holds moisture put a culture in it and feed them with yeast flakes and you will have tons of springtails in no time only in 1 of My enclosures you can even find once you add them to the enclosure but when I add to bio enclosure I'll put s9me of the brick charcoal in bottom corner and cover with dirt that's were the springtails will lay eggs and if you put it under your water dish then ya always have plenty of moisture but springtails are really easy

Can tegus live in a bedroom with a basking spot no tank?

I had one wander into my front yard today. Trying to find the owner but we’ll see if they step up or see my ads and posts. Are you able to keep them in the backyard safely if we make a safe spot ? Or do you think they’ll dig out of the backyard ?

I had one wander into my front yard today, so looks like we’ll probably be keeping him/her. Looks full grown but someone painted her shell pink. How do I remove this without harming her shell? I know not to scrub it or use a solvent or anything. Just at a loss at how I’m going to get it off. If we keep her we’ll make a safe outdoor home that she can get in and out of and she’ll live outside and have full run of the backyard and then we will bring her in the reptile room for brumation.

Desinfection might not be needed for bearded dragon but it's needed to keep our ferniture safe from woodworms that can easily spread around the house. Your metod is good but I would add a woodwoorm killer to that and let it dry for a few days before putting unside vivarium
