Michael Vaughan in the hurdle said "10 years earlier, Australia wouldn't be celebrating a draw" and for me that speaks volumes!

Well spotted. I remember it well on the day. And Vaughan was spot on. A superb piece of motivational captaincy. What. A. Series. Box office.
Best £10 I've ever spent!
Seriously, just £10 to get in on the final day.
Spot on! The number of people outside the ground was insane. Just got in before they shut the gates and felt like a lottery win! Great days.
2:14, fielder making absolutely sure that it's a four by kicking the ball into the ropes to get McGrath on strike....oh those were the times...test cricket at its absolute best !!!
It was already four, ball has touched ropes earlier
Lol.Conspiracy theorists at their best.
0:05 the most intense look on a cricketer's face, I have ever seen.
Michael Vaughan. Haha..
You gotta love Ashes.
That's why Test Cricket is most liked forms of Cricket.
What a riverly shown by both teams
This type of riverly never seen today in Cricket Teams
In a team made up of superstars and legends, Brett Lee really shone throughout the 2005 Ashes series. Not only with his performances with both bat and ball, but also in the sportsmanship that he showed in every game. I already had a lot of respect for him as a player before that series, but afterwards I'd gained a lot of respect for him as a person.
Honestly, as an Englishman who watched every ball of that thrilling series, looking back on it now I honestly think that England won the Ashes on the first morning of the Edgbaston test, when Glenn McGrath injured himself in the warmup. He had ripped through England in the first test at Lord's, but without his metronomic bowling in the second, England manage to eke out an advantage and their confidence just soared from there. What a special series, though. I'll never forget it.
Brett Lee is a superstar
Ricky Ponting made 156. One of the best innings in test cricket.
Still remember staying up all night watching Ponting survive. Still the best innings I have ever seen. Simply brilliant.
Panter hits an amazing inning...... He was looking awesome! 🔥🔥🔥
Just look at the crowd for test cricket 😍
Crowds for Test cricket had not dropped around then in the major countries (Aus, Ind, Eng).
England still does get big crowds and so do select venues in India and Australia.
Crap crowd for a crappy test.
If it's 70k plus still it gonna sold out in ashes
1:21 the way Rickey Ponting swallowed that decision.
2005's best ashes classic tour ever
It ain't easy being Geraint Jones when Harmison and Flintoff bowl everywhere except the 3 stumps
Why is this in my recommendations after 2 years?
By far the best test series ever.
Even Billy was upset when ponting gloved it ... Clearly 😂
M lucky to hv watched this live on T.V in my childhood....cricket was its best.....2000 -11 best era of ckt
Nothing excites more than a 4th innings 100 to save the test or win the test match.
Nowdays not many matches are drawn. Hardly do they go into the 5th day. A draw is more exciting to watch than people thinks
Ind v NZ 1st test Nov 2021
Those days Ricky Ponting was dominated over the bowlers. Nowadays, Kohli is exactly as like Ricky..
Mushfiq Rahaman Kohli is better, Ricky himself said it
Kohli My ass.He is nothing.
We dont hv bowlers like in the past.
@@jigartalaviya2340 Mitchell starc at his prime,Mitchell Johnson,James Anderson,Trent boult. I would argue that they are world class bowlers
In this situation need a bowler like waseem akram the super genius or the toe crusher waqar younus both was the real nightmare for the tail enders🤓🤓🤓
Why Paul Allotted is not commentating anymore?? He is one of the best.
That was hell of a match
I saw this match live in 2005
What a match of history of test cricket.
Harmison wasted the deliveries. Had it been a bowler like McGrath instead of him he could have won his team the match
Bowdens discion the best in test history
That was a spectacular innings by Ricki Ponting
I’ve never, ever seen a bowler field under the lid at short leg
Don't get me wrong, this is great footage but I've seen it a hundred times. Why doesn't the ECB release recent England footage? I know England are getting battered in Australia but it's still much more relevant than cricket matches that happened nearly 13 years ago...
Collins LFC Cos they probably don’t have access because it’s on bt sport rather than sky
Probably not got the rights for the recent stuff. That all appears on BT & Sky sites, perhaps in 10 years we will be getting the 2015 series shown on the ECB channel!
that makes no sense at all your telling me that the ECB CZcams channel doesn't have the rights for England Cricket footage from the current ashes dont the ECB
why would having it on BT make eny differnce they all pay ECB to have the rights
Test cricket at its very best.
I know what Vaughan would have been saying in the team huddle at the end... “Look at them celebrating. Celebrating a draw. They’re happy they escaped. They used to know they could beat us. Now the invincibility has gone and they’re CELEBRATING NOT LOSING”. And history would prove he was right. Now they only really consistently win at home. Or by doctoring the ball.
What does England do then ??? Even loses at home
They did go on to whitewash the next series and win the next World Cup.
How about the very next Ashes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That match is impossible to explain to Americans. Play for 5 days and nobody wins, but one team is celebrating.
Good vid
How come this video has only 45k views
I remember watching this game at mid night , bitting my finger nails for a draw ,
But when I saw Aussie players cheering after the game as we won the game , I was like what the f--k🤬
Not mid night but some 11pm
What do you mean .... Can you explain it clearly
Sir Billforth of Bowden’s crooked fingers. Whether giving out or signalling, in that rather suggestive manner, a six; not universally appreciated by ‘Los puristacos’.
Respect
I Love Cricket
As an Australian fan, and completely aware of how this match fared, I was still disappointed that we were celebrating a draw.. that Australian team was the better team honestly.. they had a bad series, that's all.. but they were much superior.. I don't think they wanted that ashes as much as England did..
Harmison just wasted last over. He never had line and length in his career
He had pace and bounce and was more successful than any line and length bowlers from India
Extremely poor bowling by Steve harmison.
Two down at the leg side
Two outside off stump
Two straight full tossed deliveries
Jasprit bumrah is the right kind of bowler in such situations. The best bowler in the world.
12th man advice to McGrath. Had England done that Ponting would’ve spat on the dummy out.
Channel 4 commentary please
On next test match at Trent Bridge England won the match
Worst Bowling by Harmison!!
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Steve was so tired
Ponting not a lot of honour in this man in fact none at all
Steven harmison didnt deserve last over.
Hoggard might have been the better choice for the last over
@@saurabhjha3130 hogard or simon Jones
If he fit
@@aalokkumargupta8107 yes they both would have been much better option as compared to Harmison
Warra odi century for michael vaughan 😂😅😊
Drink it in ricky
Poor last over bowling
pretty ordinary bowling attack
A "pretty ordinary attack" that took 9 aussie wickets on the final day that stopped the aussies getting anywhere near the English total.
@@RichO1701e it was the final day of the test, Australia was never going to get 423 any way that was out of the question!! In the last day of a test match you should be able to take all 10 wickets!! Especially in those days, tailenders in those days were genuine tailenders, they didn't practice batting and they couldn't really hold a stick like today's tailenders do!! In those days if a tail ender made a few runs it was a big Deal!! These days the players focus on every department of the game!! The tailender these days can bat, Australia done well to get 370 odd and save the draw, the bowlers should be able to offer at least 10 chances on the final day for a victory!!
Literally, I am aghast 😱
Very bad line and length. Harmison should not have been the bowler to bowl the last over.
2nd ball was pretty good. Rest was rubbish.
Very poor last over.
Pointing is a cheat and always has been
Poor bowling
worst bowling.
why he should not try to bowl yokers and swing balls?
he bowl two needless full toss in last over.
totally waste.
If Ricky Ponting was handed out a wrong decision too, I would not be bothered. The biggest cheat of modern cricket.
All said, it was a very poor last over.
Calm down uncle 😂
