no it is because it is the only one that westerns like to talk about.
I'm pretty sure Zimbabwe is not the only african country that had hyperinflation or a crazy dictator.
also when it come to white minorities ruling.
      for example:
Bolivia was ruled by white minority, and their economy went up 4x after they got rid of them.
but everyone likes to talk about two tiny African countries that existed for a couple of decades.

Well the problem with both is that the governments establish hierarchies based on skin color and people get their position based off of that rather than meritocracy. In Rhodesia, dark skin people were never allowed to succeed, while in Zimbabwe light skin people were expelled. Countries like South Africa and Malaysia also have this same problem today. Oppressing a historically privileged minority will only increase their resentment against the majority or cause them to flee the country taking their wealth with them. Singapore has the right idea when it comes to this. It’s also worth noting that although in Zambia the majority is black they have still had a white person who became president of their (admittedly flawed) democracy.

I can answer some of those.
      - hungary and Romania hate each other due to transylvania, there exist a hungarian minority (like a big minority group) hungary says it belongs to hungary while Romania says its theirs.
-siam survived because they played france and England of each other, anyone taking over siam would be directly bordering the others colony, and this was a pre world war 1 anglo french relationship. After ww1 they were too bloated to keep expanding so they couldn't.
-Greece and Albania fight because Greece want Northern epirus back from Albania, but they are friends because the rest of the balkans is a mess.
-the Netherlands is not part of germany because they aren't germans anymore per say, a Dutch friend told me it's something to do with being separate for so long they became their own thing, even during the hre days they really weren't that "german", germanic yes but not german, after around 300 years of independence they became their own thing, still germanic but not german.
-spain and England hate eachother for many historical grievances, like they sunk some fleet (only to get crushed in a counter invasion that they don't talk about ever lmao), hiring pirates to harrass the Spanish (privateers), writing fake news that still lives on today (the black legend), taking Gibraltar and not giving it back, destabilising South America so they would leave the empire, but the real reason is that English tourist are awful, they drunkenly jump of balconies into pools, are super rude, litter everywhere and are just a bother to most spanish people near tourist destinations

The reason its called the "dark ages" is beacuse the europeans kingdoms that came after the romans didnt have the same obsession as the romans with preserving their legacy in the form of statues, scrolls, etc. So early historians called it the "dark ages" as there were few obvious monuments built to the success of the early european kingdoms, in comparison to the romans.

In my opinion the main issue of the black and white skin dudes is not that there is a race better than another one but just different cultures and mindsets. With the colonisation the europeans tried to export their way of governing a country and a territory based on the european or western culture and moral and "impose" it to the local comunities colonised when they already had their own way of ruling themselves. Perhaps for the point of view of the europeans it was something bad but for them was just the right thing. In conclusion, nowadays with a globalized world there is a tend of all the countries to have similar culture and patterns in order to be economically, socially and culturally more connected wich may lead to less culture shocks between regions of the world, and that is somehow counterproductive because it harms the diversity of which we boast so much

Also, the concept of a single white majority state in the middle of Africa always struck me as fascinating; of course, that wasn't the case, we know Rhodesia had a white priviledged minority, but it would've been cool if instead of that it had been a white majority state, again, in the middle of Africa akin to Haiti in the Americas, although then again there's no way that could've come to be without significant damage to the black population there

One of the most overlooked things about Zimbabwe is how 4 in 5 Zimbabweans are Shona people. It wasn't like America where the issue was "English speaking Americans with different skin colors", the contradiction in Zimbabwe was English settlers vs the Shona who define themselves as their own nation. The understanding of Zimbabwe would be a lot better if we started thinking of the people as Shona instead of just black. And this lense makes the racist doctrine even harder to reconcile imo, because the Rhodesians didn't just hate black people in general, they were specifically hell bent on oppressing the Shona national identity.

The people still there either can’t afford to leave, or won’t leave out of stubbornness and a false feeling that things will eventually get better. There is a reason that in Canada, The US, New Zealand, Australia and the Uk you can find a surprising number of South Africans. All of us tell pretty much the same story, though admittedly my family left when I was too young for me to remember much, but from family and family friends I’ve always heard the same stories, and over the years I’ve only heard of things getting worse to the point that people don’t even really want to talk about it much anymore.

Honestly, I don’t really get the point behind this video rather than the pointless slander out of ignorance I’ve seen. Bring back “Racial policy”, piss off, Smith’s whole intention was to slowly integrate the native African population into government as they gain experience. Many African native Rhodesian had no understanding of the concept of western democracy, so it was entirely necessary for the majority population to be educated in order to take part in politics. Voting was not a right, it was a responsibility, and that is something most people don’t take I to consideration. As Smith would say “I don't believe in black majority rule ever in Rhodesia-not in a thousand years. I repeat that I believe in blacks and whites working together.”.
