Stand name: Angel Eyes or Spirit in the sky
Stand appearance: the stand takes the form of a Roman (or European I haven’t decided) suit of armor covered in rows of flowers and thorns
Stand ability: the stand acts passively as a boon, boosting the strength and endurance of all allies around the user in an 36 meter radius. The effect of the ability is determined by the amount of faith they have in the user; the stand also has the offhand ability to grant a “gift” or “miracle” also depending on the amount of faith around the user. Two fun facts about Mexico's love for Dragon Ball:
1) Jiren's fight is the second time the country came together to witness a big DBZ fight. All the way back in the 90's, before internet culture was even a thing, it was reported by news outlets that a non-insignificant portion of Mexico's entire student body AND workforce, had called-in sick the same day the Goku Vs Freezer fight finale was aired on open TV, to party-watch Goku transform into the legendary Super Sayan.
2) There's a recurring name in Mexican Civil Registry's yearly list of banned names for children. Among the ridiculous names people want to call their babies for some reason (scrotum, underware, Batman, etc...) the #1 fictitional name people used until it was prohibited, was Gohan. Why not Goku? 'Cause obiously, YOU are Goku, so your son should be Gohan.

Central American here, it's not just in Mexico. There are two moments you can go to a cartel boss to ask for a favour:
1. During his daughter's wedding.
2. After a DBZ/DBS episode drops.
Also in latin america, Dragon Ball came first before Dragon Ball Z, with the same localizer team (same with GT and many years later, Super). This was because Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z were intended to be one story.
There's a video by Get In The Robot who explained better but in retrospect, for latin americans, anime where the cool and edgy versions of cartoons, so the love of Dragon Ball with the uncensored version and the localizers with the voice actors, translation and the awesome spanish versions of the original openings and endings was and still is undefeatable with latin people.
Well, duh. The anime series Dragon Ball was produced before Dragon Ball Z. Almost every country got og Dragon Ball first, lmao.
What a weird comment.
It's not "intended" to be 1 story, it is literally 1 story. The DBZ anime was announced before the ending of Dragon Ball and in many countries it aired literally the next week. Anime and mostly dragon ball is so ingrained into Mexico that even actual boomers (1940's) have accepted the anime into the mainstream. Like imagine talking about Goku and how important he is to you to your grandma back in the 90's and her watching it with you and her knowing the lore with precision.
Basically the same in France, it was the second biggest anime consumer in the 80s and 90s, with japan being the first.
Colombian here. Back in 2016 there was a really big open drug market in the capital called "el Bronx". The men in charge of the security inside the market where called "Sayayines" (Saiyans). I had a bunch of DBZ action figures when I was a kid. I’m Asian, and so I thought I was the authority on DBZ lore at the time lol. During the good ol’ Toonami days, my parents invited their friends over to dinner, who are Mexicans, and they brought their two kids over; both boys around my age. Judging by the kids accents it was clear that they recently just moved to America. They really didn’t have any toys, so I let them play with my DBZ toys. I was so amazed at how accurately they recreated the fight scenes from the anime… down to screams and ki blast sounds. Heck I think I was more entertained by that than the actual show. After that, they were telling me how piccolo used to be evil (which actually blew my mind at the time because I’ve heard of the original DB but didn’t know that Piccolo was a villain). They sure showed me up with DBZ lore 😂
Sadly I never saw them again, but those were some great times.

Here in Spain (Europe) anime also had a great run during the 80s and 90s, my parents grew up watching Dragon Ball, Zodiac Knights, Detective Conan, Slayers, Sailor Moon and Peachy Peachy Peach.
Sadly during the 2000s there was a push back against anime from groups of "concerned parents" who worried about the excessive violence and 'sexual" nature of anime.
When I grew up, I was lucky to catch a bit of one piece at a very early age, everything anime related that remained shortly after were explicitly kid friendly shows who either just wanted to sell you stuff (Pokemon, Bakugan, Beyblade) or passed as funny children's cartoons because they didn't have fights, transformation sequences or blood and those "concerned parents" couldn't be arsed to sit down and actually watch the shows alongside their children, you know, wonderful shows with good messages like f*cking Shin-chan and Doraemon.
Until the 2010s when japanese media, other than Doraemon and Pokemon, pretty much phased out of TV and it's only returned to our local pop culture through it's worldwide phenomenons.
Lucky for my generation, we live in an age on which we can go and find the stuff we want to watch, we don't have to scrounge the bowels of early internet looking for untranslated, H-visual novels to get our anime fix like my mother had to do in her times.
I didn't know they aired shinchan in Spain as well.I come from a south asian country and shinchan was one of the biggest cartoons when we were growing up , you can find people in their 20s still watching reruns of shinchan.
Pues la verdad es que si hay contenido explícito en varios anime (el fanservice por ejemplo). Yo en mi caso no me gustaría que mis hijos vieran ese tipo de cosas hasta una cierta edad.
@@sameersadh6717 the voice actors here released entire albums singing as Shin Chan characters. That's how big it was 😅
Might be different in other parts of the world but in the US it seems like there are a group of people I would consider worse from the puritans of yesteryear that are around now. The puritans are better in the sense they wanted to ban things. This other group that acts like a cult seems to always want to change things to suit their own morals. The more ironic thing is that both of these types of groups while at opposite ends of the spectrum, have a ton of overlap with eachother. Which makes it strange how they disagree with eachother.
Maybe to a lesser extent but Inuyasha was also pretty popular. The catalan version was peak
So goku finally has an army to fight the spongebobs.
The Chinese government has literally made an offical statement mourning the death of Akira Toriyama.
5-12 march every year the cartel will take a week off to pay respects
Trust me the cartels are unlovable even if they're big on anime.
Personally i their just misunderstood and they do no illegal and violent crimes rather they are just being profiled by American and rest of the worlds propaganda to distact from their legitimate businesses . If any cartels are reading this i apologize for this brothers words he knows not what he speaks
Unlovable is understatement
Won't you take me to

The picture at the start actually plays off of a very real occurance during the early 2010s where Crime Rates in Mexico significantly dropped whenever a Mexican player in the English Premier League played a match (I think it was Javier Hernandez).
And now Toriyama is no longer with us. Rest in Peace, king
With toriyama's passing cartel activity is either gonna hit an all time low due to mourning or an all time high due to anger.
It's nice to see that everyone enjoys anime, even the cartel. Never got into DBZ myself but recently have been getting very into the DB Super tcg.
