  • A classic slice of early 80's Soul/Funk from the duo called René & Angela.
The duo consist of René Moore and Angela Winbush. Angela met René in 1980 and released their debut album 'René and Angela' the same year.
In 1977, Angela decided to further her musical education and recorded a demo song which was heard by the DJ Gary Byrd ('The Crown' etc), who was acquainted with Stevie Wonder. The connection led to Angela joining Stevie's backing group, Wonderlove.
Whilst in Los Angeles with Stevie, Angela met singer René Moore and they began writing melodies together.
René Moore is the the brother of the Rufus member, Bobby Watson and played with the Brothers Johnson in the 70's.
The duo's second album was called 'Wall to Wall', released in 1982 featuring "Secret Rendezvous", however the track was never released till 1985 and only in the UK, reaching 54 in the charts.
They later went on to produce their third album 'Rise' and in 1985 their fourth album 'A Street Called Desire' which featured the songs "Save Your Love (For Number 1)", "I'll Be Good" and "Your Smile".
Sadly due to irreconcilable differences, the couple went their separate ways in 1986 and both went onto successful solo careers as performers, songwriters and producers.
Moore lent his songwriting and production talents to Michael Jackson's 1991 Dangerous and 1995 HIStory albums.
Winbush went on to score five top ten R&B hits as a solo artist and wrote and/or produced songs for Sheena Easton, Stephanie Mills and Lalah Hathaway, among others.
