  • This is a good servo to upgrade to for the XMaxx and I would recommend it. The 2085X doesn't blow your mind with the speed and torque of it but it gets the job done. Like and SUBSCRIBE!!!

    I’m running a ProModeler DS630BLHV servo, ProModeler PDRS209 servo arm, Traxxas servo adapter, the stiff spring from the 2085x kit, and powering the servo directly from a 2s LiPo and man.. what a difference!! It is significantly better than any other servo I’ve tried in my X-Maxx, including the 2085x!
    When your 2085x gives in, look into ProModeler, assuming you’re ready for a servo you won’t have to replace again ;)

      Thank you! I just got a xmzxx recently.The stock servo is fine for now.Was looking for servos. WOW!! This is for sure the way I am going now!!

      @@jondoe6618 No problem!
      Its worth noting that ProModeler now has the DS930BLHV, which is a significantly more powerful version of the DS630BLHV, it’s about $30 more but it’s 930oz-in vs 630oz-in and, while the DS630BLHV is amazing, the additional torque the DS930BLHV offers is well worth the cost!

      @@jondoe6618 I run Goldbat 4s 6000mah soft packs, but they’re hard to find in stock now. They’re about $50/ea when they pop up. I get about 30 minutes of hard bashing per pair and I have two pair (4) of them.
      I also run Goldbat Champion 3s 5,200mah 80c packs of my 4s packs run out if I’m up for additional bashing and, aside from decreased speed, they work great!

      @@therealmakmillion Cool. I have some goldbat 3s packs. They work great. I bought 4 youme 6500mah 60c 4s batteries for 50$ each.They just plug right in.I am happy with them so far. Stock gearing and hard bashing i get around 25 min per run. I was wondering about the steering battery. What size do you use?

    Hey you should have weighed down that front end with some foam or adjust your Center differential so the wheels are planted.

    • @joshsrcs
      @joshsrcs  Před 2 lety

      Trust me, the wheels are definitely planted enough. The Traxxas servos are just severely underpowered. SUBSCRIBE!!!

    Make sure end points are set, and you might have a loose servo saver, My Maxx did that, with some throttle it wouldn't turn vary well, stupid screw in the servo saver backed out.

    • @joshsrcs
      @joshsrcs  Před 3 lety +1

      If you watch the install video you will see where I made sure my spring was tight. I put in a longer screw with a nut on the end. The endpoints were very much set. All I can say is that the XMaxx servos are pretty bad and the next servo I get for this truck will be Powerhobby! 😄 SUBSCRIBE!!!

      If it’s within 30 days Traxxas will replace it for free. I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about the stock servos going out very quickly even though that was not the way it happened for me. I’d say you just got unlucky but make sure you get your warranty claim.

    • @joshsrcs
      @joshsrcs  Před 2 lety

      The 400MG will work for XMaxx with a servo adapter but it is no where near powerful enough. Look at the PowerHobby 701MG and make sure the dimensions are the same as the 2085X. If the dimensions are the same some modification is necessary to make it fit. I have NOT used the 701MG yet so use common sense and buy it at your own digression. 👍

      True, True. Though I did just install a HobbyWing Max6 and the truck performs much better, but it killed the 2085X. I was running on 7.4v though. I have to send the servo in for $40 and I’ll get a new one back. Next time I’ll make sure to run it at 6v. SUBSCRIBE!!!
