      I have 3.8 talon ext's on my maxx, and I'm surprised that I haven't needed a servo.

    I'm surprised you hadn't stripped the plastic gears on the stock servo. Now that you have a bit more torque you'll find the servo saver is probably the upgrade that follows. The stock plastic one wears out fairly quickly. I went with an aluminium GPM one.

      yeah I'm waiting to see how this servo works out before upgrading my servo saver.

    Interesting that you went for a Traxxas servo. It's a popular truck, that is great for newbies. Those new to the hobby that get the courage to change a servo don't want to struggle making things fit that don't perfectly line up. Even with a little know-how I may choose do go traxxas if updating the Erevo servos to avoid the hassle. It's hard ponying up for traxxas electronics at my experience level though.

    • @outsourcedrc
      @outsourcedrc  Před 2 lety

      I've had pretty good luck with most of my Traxxas electronics. If this doesn't work, I'll get a Savox.

    I broke a few 2085x in my Maxx ended up just getting the vitivon standard servo adapter and a savox 2290sg monster servo

    Any other brands servo work in the Maxx?
    If so please advise.
    Looking for more torque than the stock or even the upgraded Traxxas one.

    • @thisIsRC
      @thisIsRC Před 2 lety +1

      Yes any standard size servo will work, you just need an adapter. Traxxas sells a plastic one that is very inexpensive, there also aftermarket aluminium ones. Promodeler servos would be my pick.

    Intresting choice buying a servo with only a 2 star rating on Amain, hopefully it works better for you than it did for everyone else.

    • @outsourcedrc
      @outsourcedrc  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't really care about the 14 reviews on that site. All but 4 of them are from over a year ago. Several are two years old. It has a 4.3 star rating on Amazon out of 435 reviews.

    I think you servo saver is loose or worn, could se the wheels not getting anywhere near the end point of what it should. I had the same issue and fixed it with a new servo saver and a nut and bolt mod through the whole assembly :)
