Lewis was my inspiration and got me into skating and on the one year anniversary of his passing wanted to show the world that he really meant something to me so i started my dreadlocks as a tribute to the passing of this truely great man.
RIP Lewis Marnell.

i feel so sorry for his family and friends :( he must've been such an awesome person... and he was so incredibly good at skateboarding his skills were unreal! i'm sad because nobody will see new footage of him.. just imagine how much he would kick ass in like 5 years or something.. it really sucks... i'll miss him although i never knew him! i hope there's still unreleased footage of him which i'm gonna see one day

Honestly, I had no idea who Lewis was until his passing, but the fact that life was taken away from him so young and also the fact that he'll never be able to experience the blessing that is skateboarding again, it kind of touched me somewhere no other stranger's death has ever been able to touch before. RIP Lewis Marnell, such a good skateboarder.

An inspiration for many many skaters around the world. I have been skating since 2002 when i was only 12 years old. Now im "ALMOST" 27 and still remember that old video on that skateshop in buenos aires, argentina a couple of years ago. It was lewis marnell on that board. Was magic.

You were even super supportive of taking a picture with me even tho I fucked up twice before getting the right one. May you rest in piece man. I'll never forget you.
I remember just learning about his guy a month before his death became obsessed with his style. Badass dude with huge ass dreads and a smooth style. Was so sad when he passed. Still have this very same board hanging up. Lewis Forever

I've already watched this video more times than I can count on one hand, and I choke up every time. Lewis truly embodied what, not only every skateboarder, but every person in general should model themselves after. A truly remarkable guy. Shred in peace brother, you put on a hell of a show while you were here. You couldn't possibly have left a better imprint on skateboarding.

I remember back in the days when I got my first skateboard which said Lewis Marnell underneath it, the board I began growing my passion for skateboarding with. You are and will always be one of my favorite skaters. All my prayers go out to your family and friends.
