Repair Broken Lawn Mower Pull Cord

This video will guide you through the process of repairing a broken lawn mower pull cord.
Most lawn mowers utilize a pull cord to start the mower. After many times pulling the cord to start you mower eventually your pull cord may snap and you will need to take the mower apart to access and replace the pull cord.
This video shows how to replace a pull cord specifically for a MURRAY SELECT 20" 5.5 HP mower. Other mowers may have similar design components so watching this video may help you determine how to replace the pull cord in your specific mower.
The difficulty level of this repair is higher than most simple repairs in that there are many steps and things to take apart, however it is also not that difficult if you follow the steps and take care to properly keep track of all fasteners and parts by putting them aside and labeling where each part/fastener came from so that during the reassembly the proper parts are easier to find and install.
The repair can be done by a single person and does not require any assistance.
