They replaced this with the most boring challenge, this was great
Agreed. It's about entertainment so the more fun they're having the better it is imo.
I say have all the skills comps like this. Just give them space to be as creative as possible.

They should do a comp where the goalies get to wear regular gear and the skills players have to be in net and see what the goalies can do lol

This is the reason I would watch an All Star Game!!! I want to see all the quirkiness of the players that we aren't able to see while they're competing. Please bring this back, for the sake of fun!

Allot a people did it before Forsberg and savenchacov but savachencov and Forsberg were the 2 first people to score in a NHL's game

This is better than the dunk contest in my mind because in the dunk contest your screwed if you fail your dunk, unlike here.

I like how Subban and Duchene who both put on a show in Nashville, both played there and Duchene even signed there as a free agent!!
P.K. Subban should be in this challenge every year even when he is not an all star.

I am sadly not born in States, Canada or Russia to play hockey on the good level or maybe do not posses the needed talent, but I absolutely love this sport and my experience on one of the junior tournaments in Switzerland was amazing. Icehockey is the greatest community!

Seeing this brings back so much memories those are the players I saw growing up when they were younger
My personal favourite is the Corey Perry mini stick
Kane when he looked like Superman also looks like the Hanson’s from Slapshot
Kovalev was truly one of the most talented players of all time
What I found more interesting is that Perry won a hart during his career
I think the getzlaf they showed was 12 years ahead of his time
So was St. Louis from 2009
As well as 2011 kopitar

Haven't followed the NHL in awhile. Clearly I've been missing out! Infinitely more fun than the dunk contest.
Just came back to this video after the atrocity that was this year's breakaway challenge
This was one of the few times when NHL players felt like actual people and not the robots that they seem to be most of the time. I'd love to see this event back, when everything gets settled post-pandemic.
