    I'm arab and even though I havent been to my home country, and I dont watch any of the shows, the casually racist mentality is still undeniable. Even my dad makes light of what a mess he thinks my hair is saying I look like 'Abeed', because I leave it curly now instead of straightening the hell out of it like I used to. The interesting thing is that I've never seen any of my family disrespect a black person directly but they still seem to have this superiority complex deeply engrained and they don't even know why, they don't even question it. If you tell them they're wrong they dont even argue they just dismiss it. I genuinely think it's just carried on for so long that they don't see it as a problem because it hasn't caused them many issues so far, but videos like these are so important to bring this issue to light so that arabs with this mentality can be held to account and realise it is seriously not okay

      @@truth4reel the more those of us who are aware of this toxicity start bringing attention to it and questioning it, the more likely it would be that mentalities within our communities will change, and the more people turn against this mindset the more likely it is that the governments will have to take some sort of action to prevent revolutions and uprisings. It may not guarantee anything but doing nothing will definitely achieve nothing so that's not an option to me.

Let me tell you this I am an Indian and racism against indians has been a worldwide fashion since 2015 before it was mainly Westerners. The brits ruined our image and made us hated. Not only that, we are an ancient civilization that made contributions to math and science. For thousands of years other civilizational greats used to look up upon us. Ever since britain came, they ruined our image portrayed us as people who kill female babies, people who consume cow shit and urine, people who are rapists, unhygienic, etc.

    I truly believe this "hatred" of black people is really JEALOUSY. If you understand anything about Psychology, you know that human beings focus negatively on things they ENVY. On a minor level to understand this principle, in a group of girls if one girl is talked about relentlessly, obsessed over, it's because the other girls envy her. Black people need to understand, this runs deep. We are the First HUMANS on earth. Arabs like Europeans came to our rich lands as outsiders, who over time colonized Egypt, Sudan, Mauretania, Morocco etc ..rock art, archeology and even ancient eye witness accounts ALL show the original inhabitants were BLACK. This so called "hatred" is an obvious reflection of self loathing. Do not be Gaslight. These groups are the ones with the inferiority complex. They imitate our style, dress, music wishing they could be us. This over the top slander is an overcompensating neurosis that thinly masks as superiority.💯

    I have to say that it's anti
    *blackness* and its wrong and disgusting and i have to point out to people of African descent who has dark skin that blackness belongs to many other ethnicities/ nationalities too for example many south east Asian countries have dark skinned individuals. Indians are another group you know. I myself am a dark skinned Indian.
    So don't feel its antiness against people of African descent only, it can be many other nationalities too you know one good example being India which is predominantly a hot country and hence the skin colour dark!
    I hope you all get what I mean. you are not *alone* facing the skin colour preference and prejudice of a fair skin which is put in a high *pedestal* mainly because its rare and looks out of the ordinary on this earth is what I guess.
    That's no excuse for looking down on dark skinned individuals which the racists or colourists should know.
    on another note no matter what the hate the majority of the people on earth has dark skin colour and I consider us children of the sun and soil!!! peace.

    What's so amazing to me is that the majority of the world are people of color! Further more, these groups of people come in various shades of color. Examples of such are Arabs, Asian Indians, Latins, Mexican, Italians, Koreans, and so forth. The contributions of African Americans are tremendous and the doors they opened for all minorities are numerous. African Americans were the first minorities in Hollywood to pioneered the entertainment industry, this opened the doors for many people of color to go to Hollywood, and there were African Americans who created products that were effective in its use on non-Caucasian hair and skin types. I am very proud to say that I had an ancestral relative that created hair products that was effective on African-American hair. This was in the early 1900(s). Those ancestral grandparents earned enough money to purchase land which they named that section of town "Pruitt Town" and it is still on the map today! Bigotry is a thief and a deceiver. May we as people of various kinds, of language, shades, and genders, not allow ourselves to be robbed of humanity's contributions due to the ignorance of bigotry! Please do think on this! Peace out.

    I think you should also take into consideration the culture's humour, the times which these shows and movies were made (when western movies were also incredibly racist). You're holding them to today's westernised standards which they don't (and DIDNT) subscribe to. I think you're coming down on these movies and shows too harsh. Yes, the blackface and the colourism are explicit and uncomfortable in today's context, and should not be tolerated, but you also have to consider their perspective. I don't think it's coming from malice, i think it's just ignorance. The effects of this colourism exist today and I would've liked to hear you talk about today's effects cause then the focus becomes about their reality and less your opinion. Your language is adding fuel to the fire. I would have also like to hear you talking about the history of how colourism became normalised in the middle east, as that would provide insight into potential solutions.

      @freeeepalestine__ Před 3 lety +3

      He wasn't harsh enough. For you to be doing black face and mocking black people is disgusting, and just wrong, there's no excuse for it. The maryam fares one was the biggest disappointment because as a black nigerian I love her music, and then I saw that video and I was just disgusted by her tbh.
