Love how you guys took into consideration for 3rd party Sliders.
Just bought this, I can’t even use this out of the box. App needs to update the genie one, which is fine, however when I go to update it’s asks to join a WiFi network (I’m assuming the genies WiFi connection to the iPad) that doesn’t show up under WiFi
Hey Pacific Aethetics,
Sorry you're having trouble!
Seeing that you are using an iOS platform to update, you should be asked to "join the network" by the APP one or two times during the update process, please press "OK" each time and keep your phone in close proximity to the Genie ONE during the entire update process. Additionally, check you have Wifi Assist turned off as this can interfere with the update process. This article is helpful for troubleshooting update issues: support.syrp.co.nz/hc/en-us/articles/360000439815-Genie-II-Firmware-Update-Fail-Troubleshooting
If this doesn't work, you may need to perform a Factory Reset on the device:

For technical support, it's best to contact us at support@syrp.co.nz so we can help you more thoroughly with the problem. Thanks!
Having the same issue for the past two days with mine. Did you ever find a solution? 😔
@@natrix yeah I figured something out, haven’t used it in forever and am now selling
Gotcha, thanks for the reply. Tech support is dragging their feet getting back to me. Do you remember what you tried by any chance? I’ve tried 6 different devices in 3 different locations and it just won’t finish the update. So I’m basically locked out the the device I just bought for a client standing over my shoulder for the last two days🤦♂️.
@syrplab do you have an updated site for the troubleshooting links in this thread?
Is it using the same pan holder as the first generation Genie? Please reply? Thanks
Hey Adam, yes indeed. The same pan and tracking base is usable with the Genie One.
Yeah love this, but the Genie here is still doing it's job fantastic. imho Syrp is creating really quality that is so well good for years. yeah, untill new technology comes. So which one to buy later, the genie one, or the genie II?
We're glad to hear Massygo! That will really depend on your budget and how many axes you want - the Genie One has similar functionality to the original Genie but with a few upgrades where as the Genie II is great for 3 axis moves, faster motion and video
I just bought this and also can't use it because each update keeps failing, despite following the troubleshooting instructions. This is very frustrating.
Same same. Did you ever figure out a solution?
Hello Syrp! Can I charge Genie One with powerbank while it working on slider/tripod?
Hey there - you can indeed through the USB C port!
Hello i just bought your product but the screw on the genie one is bigger for my regular ball head- what can i do
Hey Nicachen TV, The Genie One has a 3/8 screw on the top which is larger than the small 1/4 20 you find on the base of some smaller ball heads. You'll need a head with a 3/8 screw on the bottom such as the Manfrotto 490 Ball Head. www.manfrotto.com/global/490-centre-ball-head-mh490-bh/
@@SyrpLab 1)thanks how about the bottom i have a peak design tripod but seems it cant take the bigger screw what type of head can i get to hold the bottom on the tripod 2) Seems the genie 1 does not come with a cord whats the best for sony a7s iii and fuji cameras
good morning ... there are two models of genie one one with monitor and one without monitor ... which model is newer?
Hey Angelo. There's the Genie (with screen) and Genie One (no Screen). The Genie One is the later model and has all the features listed in this video however, the Genie Two is our more advanced and higher spec motion control czcams.com/video/U8Et7vkLJ9I/video.html
@@SyrpLab thanks ... the syrp genie ... with monitor ... it has a usb cable for updating the firmware and the socket to connect it to other syrp solutions such as the genie mini ... how does the genie one solve these problems? Thank you
Did you get a Genie One? The Genie One, as with all but the original Genie update firmware via the Syrp and Manfrotto apps. I successfully updated two minis (first gen) and the genie ii pan/tilt head. It was challenging, but worked. I’m now struggling with the Genie One. I’ll update here when I have success.
WOOOoooOWWWW!!!
First Comment!
Will this work on the slingshot?
Hi @amacmedia - yes, works with the slingshot
Syrp thanks, only asking as I’ve had nothing but major issues using my linear and genie mini with my slingshot on 3 separate occasions. Is this genie one better than the linear when using the slingshot over 80m? And the syrp app isn’t good to use when setting up a long distance shoot of 40 - 80m as it always crashes and you have to reset your start and end points
amacmedia just replied on your other thread, will get Vishwa and team to reach out
Syrp I hope that they do
