    When Dimash was first invited onto the show he had asked them if he had to compete with children and they told him no, so he agreed to be on it. When he later found out he was going to compete against the kids he didn't want to continue the competition. The judges were just trying to make him out to be ungrateful and they also cut out when he brought up that they lied to him.

    The World's Best was a horrible show for many reasons. There is so much more to this story, and I will try and keep it short, then give you a link to a video by two women who were in the audience for all of the tapings. Before he agreed to do the show and signed the contract he asked if there would be children in the competition. The answer Dimash was given was enough to convince him that there wasn't. In his culture children are lifted, and elders are respected. He would never compete against children. The day of the taping of this show Dimash ran into Daneliya Tuleshova backstage. She was another contestant on this show. Daneliya is a young girl from Kazakhstan, and had participated in a talent show in Kazakhstan where Dimash was a mentor prior to this show. It was at that time he knew he had been lied to, and decided to quit. The contracts did carry a non-disclosure clause, and none of the contestants knew who else was competing on the show.
    This entire segment of the show was twisted, turned around, edited, and not even close to what happened. All of the performers had their performances cut, edited, etc to fit the shows "look," and time frame. Dimash had quit before he performed, and comments from the judges, reactions etc were before and after he performed, but put together to appear it all happened after he performed. Dimash not having his in-ears in at the beginning of this, then taking them out somewhere in the middle etc, is a clear sign things had been scrambled. Yes, what you see here was edited to suit the producers. From what the two women in the audience said the actual event appeared not to be scripted or staged, but the end result and what was shown on TV certainly was. Daneliya and Gia Nortas (the judge from Kazakhstan) have confirmed this.
    In my opinion I think Dimash is the reason the show was cut from ten episodes to seven, and has never been picked up for another season. The show's money maker quit, with good cause, upstanding ethics, and honor. The instant backlash the show received was astronomical. Within a couple of days there were thousands of negative comments on the show's FB page, every video on their CZcams account, and many comments on the IMDB page. The comments were not just about Dimash, although the majority of them were, there were also negative comments about how others were treated. Once the video from the two women in the audience was released the comments intensified. All of "The World's Best" videos have now been removed from their CZcams page, and many of the videos on their FB page have also been deleted. There were hundreds of comments directed at the three judges Twitters, and FB pages which, for the most part, have also been removed. It is interesting that months after the show, Mark Burnett commented that if the show were to return there would need to be a lot of changes to how it was done.
    Since the show was aired Dimash has not commented directly about the show. He has made a couple cryptic, non committal, off hand comments when with friends on video that probably are about the show, but no true indication they are. It makes me think that the contract was broken with no recourse from the show as long as he didn't talk about what happened. Just my opinion.
    I am proud of Dimash for standing up for his ethics, and cultural values. Here is the link to the video with the two Dears that were in the audience for the show. Well worth the watch. czcams.com/video/XQgCJBnRvVk/video.html

    This was the last competition he has ever attended. Some time after this in 2019, he said he would not attend any competitions anymore, which makes total sense, because at this point in his career he is waaaay beyond any contests/competitions, when he is technically the best singer on the planet (although he would never call himself "the best singer in the world" because he is humble and down to earth, but anyone with ears can hear it and say that he is technically the best), and the idea of him being judged by people who don't even have half his musical talent or knowledge is a laughable concept. But at the same time I get why he attended as many competitions as he had in his younger days, because he was trying to get his name out there on international platforms, and contests were a good way to do it. BUT he is now without a doubt, well-established, highly-revered, world-class singer whose skillset is superb and any competition would be way beneath him at this point. So, him putting an end to attending any more competitions/contests after this one in 2019 was a step that was long overdue.

    A recent docu explains that Dimash grew up with great resistance in his own country because he didn't sing in a way that people understood. His parents are highly regarded, though more traditional, musicians, and it must have been so painful for them. The elder (in the docu) said that they are just beginning to understand the concepts of fans/fandom, and they are completely upended by the global support Dimash has received. He is changing the way his country relates to the larger world. His is not an easy path for him to follow, though all the hardship has grown a very strong awareness and resolve in him, and that will keep him true to himself.

    Until this day I am puzzled with relevance of Faith Hill’s comment to Dimash’s decision. He said he can never compete with kids due to his personal code of conduct not because he has a fear to compete with or share a stage with greatest singers.
    Great that Dimash stayed true to his values and let children win this show.

    • @davidcochran6291
      @davidcochran6291 Před 3 lety +4

      You misunderstood what he was saying. First of all I doubt Dimash is afraid of anyone when it comes to a singing contest. Something was lost in the translation. It is his county's custom that adults do not compete directly with children, to give the kids a chance. When the show came to Dimash to join the show he was told under no circumstances would there be children in the competition. If it weren't a change in a practice schedule Daneliya and Dimash wouldn't have run into each other. So why is it that he has been in many other competitions and never had this problem? Because they didn't lie to him.

Never have been able to figure out why that is. So if I upset you or you need something clarified then, I'm sorry and tell me what I need to explain.

      @@davidcochran6291 first of all I am not upset, I just wanted to double check because your first response doesn’t make any sense to me, so I believe you just misread or misunderstood my comment...I invite you to re-read it.
      My comment was addressed to the remark of Faith Hill’s (a country singer) short speech at 5.02 of this video regarding Whitney and Adele, I find it irrelevant to the whole issue since Dimash’s decision was based on his internal integrity (that he doesn’t compete with children) and had nothing to do with some sort of fear or nervousness of sharing a stage with greatest singers (implication of Faith Hill’s remark).
      As for me being lost in translation or not understanding Dimash’s culture, that is not a case since we are both from the same country and cultural background. I hope it clarifies your confusion.

Продюсеры знали, что Димаш собирается покинуть проект, и сказали Ру Полу - что нужно сказать, все это прописано в сценарии. Thank you for showing me this . Is exactly what I always thought even in behind the scenes as I worked for long time. We are not slaves anymore ,we stand in our sovereignty and power ,music ,talents of any kind and human being rights we have free will and Dimash have showed us that. YHANK YOU BOTH

    first off that lil SNIPPET WAS GREAT! FREAKING AMAZING, LOVE IT!! i come from a line of artists. my grandfather is a blues legend, my mom was a singer/actress and then me....i worked my ENTIRE LIFE to get in the industry....FINALLY got in and with the first few meetings i knew i wouldnt be a (MEGA STAR)......Why? because I REFUSE TO BE A PUPPET!!! the HARSH trust is (STARS ARE NOT BORN, They are CREATED)!!! its 10% talent and 90% (OBEYING).....DiMash is the exception.....why? Because he doesnt need the entertainment business.... the business NEEDS HIM!!!! HE has the most (DIVERSE VOICE) ive EVER heard (man or woman)!!! with 40 plus albums created, from rock to classical, hip hop, new age to neo soul, ive NEVER heard a more (Perfect artist at his craft)!!! it would simply be an HONOR to be in the same room with him! i know and have worked with a lot of celebrities.... he'd be the ONE GUY that would have me (Star struck).......My hat off to him, he followed his heart. He's NOT a puppet. SALUTE!!!!

    Besides this mistreatment of Dimash, they also heavily edited all his performances. In one episode it's quite obvious that he performed Daididau (you should listen to that one by the way), but they cut all of it, instead only airing an edited version of him singing All By Myself directly after Daididau. If I remember correctly, in the episode he quit he sang Adagio, but that was extremely edited. They not only insulted Dimash but also their own audience, who they seem to think is too stupid to appreciate foreign music or to be able to focus on a song for more than 1.5 minutes.
