- The monarchy has been hit by a double health scare with the Princess of Wales in hospital after abdominal surgery and the King facing treatment for an enlarged prostate.
Kate - a future Queen - is expected to remain in hospital for 10 to 14 days and is set to be away from official duties for up to three months to give her time to recover.
The nature of the princess’s condition has not been revealed although Kensington Palace confirmed it was not cancerous.
It is serious enough, however, for the Prince of Wales to be stepping temporarily back from official duties while his wife is in hospital and in the immediate aftermath while she recuperates.
Buckingham Palace announced just an hour and a half after Kensington Palace’s shock news that Charles, 75, will be treated in hospital next week.
The Palace said Charles’s condition was benign and he would be having a corrective procedure.
His engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation.

It's a sad reality that many people derive pleasure from unnecessarily meddling in others' affairs and being noisy about it.
When you're a part of the Royal Family, whose extravagant lives are funded by the taxpayers, you need to expect the peasants to be curious and concerned for your health and well-being. She forfeited most of her privacy marrying a crown prince. I wish both of them a fast and speedy recovery.

@@pommiebears She hasn't been in for two weeks yet. That's just the doctors being cautious. Easier to say two weeks and she's discharged after one than to say one and she ends up staying longer. Doctors always err on the side of cautious, and would be even more cautious with someone of her status.

Not speculating but just saying she may have symptoms of something but no pain hopefully. Wishing both her and King Charles speedy recovery.

I think its also to give her as much recovery time without having to cancel plans again. Its normal to have 2 weeks off work after minor abdominal surgery, and it takes a few months to be fully back. 😊 She has an active and public role, so I'd want her to have the needed time to recover in piece. Im honestly thinking theyre also buying her time to leave the hospital in peace, who knows she might already be at home. Just let her have the time we all would want and need. 😊

Regarding Princess Catherine, I think it is fair enough that the public has been advised of her surgery and assured that her condition is not cancerous. However beyond that, as a mother of three young children, her right to privacy on this matter should be respected. All mothers will understand why, for the sake of her children, she would want a quiet recuperation with as little fuss as possible.
If it is related to female health issues, no woman would want such matters to be the subject of conversation, up and down the country. Neither would her children for that matter.
Princess of Wales didn’t even like when Meghan explained she had “baby mind”. She is private and she deserves that privacy. Imagine the stress of going through surgery as a public person.
Public people do go thru all sorts of things publicly. If she has say gallstones or kidney stones for example, letting public know is helpful Many others might be helped. Charles letting out his very private prostate issue is very brave and helpful to bring this issue out to be talked about. I find it admirable that King Charles is sharing his diagnosis to encourage other men to be unafraid to get proper check ups. To look after the health and wealth fare of others to get these early detections and save lives. Very admirable of him. And for the Princess of Wales to worry about postponing engagements when she is having a serious procedure and needing a lengthy time to recover. This is truly amazing. These two royals are each going through some health issues that should be private and deeply personal. Yet, their concern is still with the people they feel they are letting down by not meeting their royal obligations. How different from the two who left royal duties for monetary gain! It feels like Charles announced his upcoming surgical procedure & offered a bit more details in a way to somewhat take some of that unnecessary attention to Catherine's condition/recovery ~~ especially because it's obvious her announcement is more reserved compared to her FIL.
As far as Catherine is concerned, there are some conditions which women may suffer from, requiring an extended stay in hospital and long recovery that take some time to get used to having done on a mental basis. If the POW is not ready to make that public it relishes to keep it completely private, that should be her right. Everyone is entitled to medical privacy and given that so much of the RFs life is in public and discussed openly like this, the least we can do is allow them to keep this little bit on information to themselves. I wish them both a speedy recovery.
Of course JJ the Sussex sycophant has to criticise Catherine because she didn't give details of her surgery and what is was for. I'm sure if she thought it was something that needed to be discussed because it would help women, she would. Also, he had to continually point out they have nannies 🙄
Difference is JJ, their nannies don't live with them day to day and are only used when William and Catherine are away or on engagements. They don't use them to raise their children unlike other people. Also, her name is Catherine and you all know that yet you continue to disrespect her by calling her Kate Middleton. Grow up!!!

The 2 week stay and recovery time should not surprise given her degree and frequency of her schedules. She still has a busy family to care for. If anyone deserves a prolonged recovery this incredibly dedication POW. God Bless

I don’t know the name of the man who felt it important to point out that Catherine has 2 nannies but really? Shame on that guy. Why would having nannies have any effect on recovery time? My husband has had 3 major abdominal surgeries. Hospital stay was around 2 weeks and it took him much longer to recover afterwards. His pain was excruciating. Abdominal surgery is no joke, plus there is a high risk for blood clots. What an f’ed up thing to say. Again, shame on him.
He's wrong any way. The Prince & Princess of Wales have one nanny, who has been with them since Prince George was a baby.
This JJ guy most of the time irritates me, why can't he understand that not everyone wants their medical condition or any condition for that matter to be public. Sometimes in that moment they will or may not be ready yet and maybe in the future they will be more willing to share. Give Catherine a break, the hate coming from him is too much. Right - is he there because of the need of a "token" person, like in the USA? Can't he be replaced? Otherwise, his superiors need to reassess why he is there, what does he bring to the table that is constructive and uplifting to this talk show and his country.
