Hi Plinkster. Izaro here. I machine those actions and bolts here in Spain. Thank you for your review. It's great that you liked our gun. It's a pleasure to see people enjoying our stuff. It helps us to work with a clear aim. Hope you have lots of fun with them. Take care and live good.
Hello, Plinkster, Rob here. Thanks for the great reviews. I bought the Savage B22 Precision and Arken scope after seeing your review. I also just purchased the Bergara B-14R with the carbon fiber barrel, and I think you might want to test that version also. On mine the trigger pull averaged less than a pound on my Lyman gauge, and on my first trip to the range I fired a five shot, .186 inch group with Aguila standard ammo at fifty yards.
Really good video! I watch all yours and I like how you were so objective and analytical in this video, letting the facts drive the opinion. It's obviously a great rifle and anyone who understands what it costs to make a great rifle can relate with the $1,100 price.
Ohhh yes aspirin you got it buddy. Bergara b14 r with Nexus scope my same set up. And I’m freaking out every time I go to the range the rifle freaks me out and scope. Same.
Went from a Mossberg Plinkster to a RPR and after breaking the bolt release got the Bergera with a carbon barrel and put it in a MPA chassis. Also found a CZ 457 in a 24” barrel in a chassis that should arrive in a week. The money I saved from not buying a voodoo bought two addition sub moa shooting sticks.
I love my HMR in 6.5 CM. I was looking for a good trainer and considered this rifle. My son had gotten the CZ 457 custom and it's nice. However I ended up with the Ruger American Long Range 22lr.. it shoots .4 in groups with cci standard and Remington subs. It absolutely loves the Norma Match. .25 all day at 100. You don't see very many videos about the Ruger though. But it's less than 500$ and would put it up against even a voodoo. I'm that confident in the rifle.
That may have been true years ago, but the semi autos these days are getting deadset scary with their accuracy, 🤣🤣🤣. And I’m a dedicated repeater and single shot user!! I don’t own any semi autos (waste of ammo in my hands, 🤣🤣).
@Greg W You own an Ansy??? I'll say to you exactly what I said to my mate when he rocked up to the range with his Anschutz...... "don't talk to me, EVER!!!!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 By gee they're beautiful rifles! Between my sons & I, we do 500 rounds of 22 in a session at the range, lmao!! Costing me a bloody fortune. And between us we have angry 22s (223 & 22-250), 6.5s, 30cal, & 45cal. But the 22LRs carry the load 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for the reply.
I hate when companies call their rimfires "trainers". Maybe I just like shooting 22 and have hit my goal, not training. Makes it sound like less, "here my potty cause the toilet scares me, and I enjoy watching pa carry my poo across the room terrified of splashing it on himself.lol ok I'm done, whiskey and CZcams may not mix. Love that your coming back to CZcams hard plinkster, I've missed ya
I just order this rifle yesterday looking forward to putting some rounds through it, My voodoo V22 in 22mag should be coming in about the same time as the Bergara arrives, woohoo 😀 gonna be like a kid on Christmas morning.
I cannot stand wearing tinted glasses while shooting. I have to have natural light. The technology of these rim fire rifle barrels and bolts have really come a long way. The Ruger Precision is a great platform. The Ruger American is as well. Sub MOA is always impressive out of a “low” to “mid” priced rifle. Great video.
I installed a TriggerTech Diamond trigger and an Anthlon 4.5x30 ARES ETR........EXCELLENT. Shooting 22LR used to not excite me much, this B-14R fixed that :)
I have a Bergara B14 HMR in 6.5 CM. It is awesome! I want the Trainer now too! My HMR shoots better than I do, and it looks like the Trainer will shoot the same kind of groups.
Good review the same set up I have. Bergara b14 and Element Nexus 5-20-50 I love rifle and scope is a freakin amazing set up. Honestly plinkster you are 100 percent right. Scope bad ass Rifle as close to a Voodoo you can buy. I’m buying another b14 with carbon barrel just because I’m disabled and I’m bored. People pay 500 more buy Bergara b14 and spend 1400 bucks on Nexus and you have awesome match set up. Thx Bryan.
Nice video. I have the B14 and several other shooters have it and compete in our club. I’m still new and still need to get my dope dialed in. But the others in my club shoot great and it’s accurate. The guys winning matches are just faster at acquiring the target but the B14 shooters are finding the targets with the same accuracy
I'd say the best .22 rifle I've ever gotten on a budget was the Rock Island M14Y. I threw a Gamo Scope on it, zeroed it for 100 yards, and I'm getting groups an inch wide with the occasional flyer due to wind. I set up a 6 pack of coke cans on the target stands and nailed every one. For a $200 rifle total, I could not be more satisfied
@Jbog07 I've never actually owned a CZ rifle. I have yet to see one in my local shop and I tend to try and patron them as much as possible just to keep them open. Otherwise I'm stuck driving 75 miles for my nearest source of ammo. I also just did a bit of research on CZ rifles and noticed that with a few exceptions they tend not to come with iron sights. I'm not a big fan of relying on scopes alone. Iron sights are a must for me as I like to have to option of still using the rifle if the absolute worst happens and my scope is broken in the field. That's just a personal taste though, not in regards to the quality of the rifle
@Jbog07 my personal favorite targets will probably always be tied between 3 items. Dollar store 2 liters of generic soda (cut down on a generation of youths with morbid obesity and corn syrup addictions), steel gongs, and a very special target a unspecified relative of mine managed to secure, that being a thrown out bullet proof window from an Up Armor Humvee door window. It was a bitch to set up as it weighed a ton but damn if it wasn't fun to test different rifles and see what each bullet did.
@Jbog07 i would seriously advise it. Mine cost me $197 after taxes and background checks. Magazines come in 10 and 15 round capacities at about $20 a pop, and the barrel comes threaded for muzzle devices standard. Its light weight, the trigger break is just clean and breaks like glass. The bolt is smooth as can be. The only 2 negatives I can say about the rifle are the trigger pull is on the heavy side as about 6-8 pounds and mine seems to be a bit picky with ammo. Winchester Xpert HV bulk ammo jammed once every magazine and most other bulk ammo sees the rifle jam about 5 times every 2-300 rounds as the chamber gets fouled and cause failures to extract. For the price point, accuracy, detectable magazines, and action as a whole I'll deal with plinking ammo causing it to jam up every couple hundred rounds. It's not like I plan on going after Grizzlies or Mountain Lions with a .22, after all. The rifle currently sits by my bedroom door and I take it out with me whenever I walk my property for coyotes or other varmints. It also tends to be one of my 3 truck guns with my Rossi Youth .410 and Winchester 94 in 30-30. Nice variety I think in the combination with a rifle for small game, a shotgun for bird shooting, and a rifle for medium game.
I Just returned to .22lr shooting after several years. I forgot how fun it is. I shoot at a D.N.R. range so it is very controlled of course. Paper targets only. I thought of a test that you could do with various loads of .22lr. Shoot through 14.5 oz cans of full wet dog food. I believe this would be scientific. The tin can would represent the tuff outer hid of most varmints and the soft dog food inside would simulate the flesh and internal organs. I think your hunting viewers would get a lot of this test. Thanks for your channel and your dedication to shooting.
@JZ's Best Friend SK ammo is really good, Sk std, rifle and long range are all good ones to try. 22lrs are so finicky that many times, 2 identical rifles shoot completely different. Take care
Bergara .22s are hit or miss accuracy wise. Some group well, some don't. I dropped the action screw torque down to 40 in/lbs. Groups better there. I installed a Shilen Competition trigger that I set at 8 oz - $149
I got the Begara and put it a MPA chassis. It was a little more accurate than my RPR and pleased. Then my CZ in their chassis arrived. All three shoot sub moa but....the CZ shoots the smallest groups for me. Getting away from paper target and really like my know your limits target
Great video and I love the Bargaras and own a couple of them in different calibers thank you for telling us the price, some channels will not do that and it drives us crazy!
I just ordered mine yesterday and can not wait to get it man. I have a vortex strike eagle 5-25, Atlas CAL bi-pod and area 419 base just waiting on it to arrive. I also have a cz 457 american with a cz 457 LRP barrel, Strike Eagle 5-25, and in a KRG Bravo, but man I just am not satisfied with it. It is so very ammo picky and still not very consistent even with sk variants and Lapua center x. I also have a Bergara HMR in 308 with an Arken 4-16 sh4 gen 2 that I love A LOT!
I love mine but it has ejection problems that are driving me nutts. I'm at the point i think im going to contact Bergara now. It will always pull the case out of the chamber but about 1 out of ever 3 mags it drops the last round inside the action and often ends up behind the ejector to the point you have to dig it out with a knife or something. It also occasionally drops one inside the action that isnt the last round but usually just the last round. It is driving me crazy. I have staked the ejector per what bergara has been telling some people to do to fix the issue and while it did cut down on the problem it did not fix it.
People that don't understand "shooting the box" or aiming dead center with your impacts off center aren't real shooters. Don't worry Plink, I trust you ❤😁
Please do a review on the CZ 457mtr. It’s the best 22 rifle I’ve ever shot. RWS target rifle ammo is the best in mine but shoots several very well. Thanks for your great reviews.
Nice review Plink. Can't wait to get one of these together. Do you have any experience with the Bergara BXR (10/22)? Might we get a vid on that one, I've read mixed reviews.
Would love to see you review the Cz 457 precision trainer MTR (slightly bias because I have one) but backyard ammo was grouping around an inch, entry match at 3/4 and God match ammo grouping at 1/2 inch at 100 yards- Def worth a visit 😉
@@matthewtracy8744 What? Yes, it is identical because it is a B-14 hmr in 22lr, it is not a clone. Its as much a "clone" as a 308 caliber b14hmr would be to a creedpoor.
And anytime you want to bring your .308, I'll out shoot you on every level with th 6.5. Your antiquated cartridge has been beat by sooo many others in precision shooting.
It depends on the gun. My 1022 build loves cci sv. I've shot match grade eley and several others out of it and it shoots better groups with the cci sv.
Jonathan DeBoer have you had any of the extracting issues I’ve been seeing write ups on? I recently found a ranger at local shop and I’m thinking about picking it up real soon
Hi Plinkster . That looks a lovely rifle especially the stock. Two questions, 1. How many rounds to accurise the barrel. 2. Is it best for accuracy to shoot suppressed. I have a Lithgow 101 and it’s very accurate when I shoot suppressed. If I can get one here in the UK 🇬🇧 I think I would have one, love your reviews.
My opinion, if your goal is precision shooting, NRL22, etc. Save some money and get the steel barrel over the carbon. The extra weight actually helps stabilize on a bag. Handling the two side by side, the carbon felt too light to stabilize on a bag easily.
Greetings! I spend a lot of time in the woods and the problem I have with my Ruger American in .22WMR is that the bolt will pop up at the tiniest touch whether it's clothing or brush and it exposes the breech on occasion. I see that the bolt pops up on the Bergara slightly upon firing, but was wondering if it feels snug to you when it's locked down and loaded, ready to fire. Thanks!
I'm looking to buy a 22LR for KYL and 100 yard to 300 yard competition. What are the top 2 most accurate rifles and model out of the box, been looking at Ruger, Savage, bergara, Kidd.
@.22plinkster Would you say .22 L.R. round nose lead bullets are more accurate than round nose plated bullets? I would think the copper wash could slightly affect accuracy due to slight difference in jacket thickness? Have you ever tested this?
I want to see the Lithgow vs Bergara vs Vudoo.... I would also like to see Lapua Center X, Midas +, SK Match and Eley 10X. I just purchased a Vudoo, the same one you reviewed. I bought it because I trust your reviews and appreciate your videos. I think the Lithgow didn’t get a fair comparison because you used Gold Medal Match and CCI Green Tag. I would love to see apples to apples.
I enjoyed the video. I really want to get one of these but I've seen several videos lately showing that there are a lot of problems with ejection. Does anyone know if that problem has been resolved?
I have seen conflicting reports on that. They are both AICS pattern mags, but the geometry of the round presentation can be slightly different. I would lean towards not relying on them working, but some people have said they do feed, some say they dont.
I have the B14 HMR in 300WM...if this thing didn't cost almost as much as the big boi variant, it would be a nice addition to save in cost of ammo. ETA: Also, holy crap, what is with the super tall guntubers? Tim from MAC is like 6'4, I think, hickok45 is what, 6'8? There must be something in the water where y'all are at...maybe lead makes you grow and that's why they wanted us to not eat lead paint chips???
I don't own any suppressors but I've seen both videos and first hand where a 22lr rifle shot poorly with a suppressor attached then immediately after removing the suppressor shot MUCH better. One such instance was a few days ago at my rifle club a guy was shooting his essentially new B14r suppressed and got poor groups and did poorly shooting a KYL steel target set up He removed the suppressor and immediately shot very good groups and did well on the KYL target rack Same ammo only thing that changed was removing the suppressor He was shooting SK Match Rifle ammo
im not sure if there is a big demand for this but can you either review or list the best rifles for us that shoot lefty? I'm sick of finding a cool rifle and then be disappointed when i find out their not made for me.
Don't have a bolt gun but this looks like a great (i.e., affordable) way to get into long range shooting. Sure I could pay more for a .308 or 6.5 Creedmore but would rather not burn through ammo (besides I don't have a .22LR bolt gun).
If you're interested in this rifle, it is actually the B-14 R Trainer. I referred to it several times in my video as just the B-14.
Is it available in left handed?
@22plinkster this is another great video. Your content is great, me and my boy watch you a lot 🇺🇲💯 thanks for your continuous 2a Support

The Bergaras are a steal. I want a 22 as well as a center fire. I'm buying a SAR cz clone first though.
Love my B14HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor. Its only the cost of this .22 in the UK that put me off it.
You can’t go wrong I love mine and my Nexus scope. Plinkster did a honest review. That’s my same set up. Go get one. 👍🏻
I would like you to try federal black 38 grain and 40 grain. We have found out that it shoots just as good as CCI standard or better
I been anticipating the match pistol video??????
22 plinkster would you take the Bugera against a Volquartsen rifle or the Thompson Center Perfomance Center tcr22
Awesome video!!! Can you please review the Rossi Rio Bravo.
It depends on the gun. My 1022 build loves cci sv. I've shot match grade eley and several others out of it and it shoots better groups with the cci sv.
what's SV super velocity??? there goes acronyms again...
@@blueplasma5589 standard velocity
You should do an M1-22 citadel. It's an M1 carbine copy in .22 lr.
Yeah I would like to see also. People in comments have been asking on many channels I watch. I'm surprised no one has done a feature.
If it's made by Chiappa, watch out. I wanted their M1 in 9mm and the reviews were discouraging.
@@Duwurf ^ this. Reliability/ performance was mediocre at best in the vids/ reviews I've seen.
Sure would like to see a review of the Christensen Arms Ranger 22...
Acclimation of the rifle to different types of .22 ammo ??
How do you do that ?
Would you please give us a review of the Anschutz 1710D HB and the newer Anschutz 1461HB accuracy test vs the Voodoo ?
Would love to see a review on the Bergara BMR
Plink you still gotta try the Tikka T1X with SK match rifle
Can you review the Christensen 22lr? Looks like a good rifle and I’d love to hear your opinion on the gun.
Jonathan DeBoer have you had any of the extracting issues I’ve been seeing write ups on? I recently found a ranger at local shop and I’m thinking about picking it up real soon
So my .22 rascal is a tak driver? Just need the right ammo? 🤨🤔
@22plinkster I’m looking for a good rifle to replace my Savage BTVS 22. Would you choose this over the Lithgow la101?
Hi Plinkster . That looks a lovely rifle especially the stock. Two questions, 1. How many rounds to accurise the barrel. 2. Is it best for accuracy to shoot suppressed. I have a Lithgow 101 and it’s very accurate when I shoot suppressed. If I can get one here in the UK 🇬🇧 I think I would have one, love your reviews.
15 rounds will usually be ok to start getting accurate results when changing ammo, I am not an expert thats just my best guess
Very informative 👍
hey i love the video, i am very seriously considering buying it. where can i buy the tripod at? thanks
My opinion, if your goal is precision shooting, NRL22, etc. Save some money and get the steel barrel over the carbon. The extra weight actually helps stabilize on a bag. Handling the two side by side, the carbon felt too light to stabilize on a bag easily.
Say Dave, what's the least I should have to $pend to get a ragged _one hole group_ at 100yds with serious ammo and rested, on a no-wind day?
When are you going to review the Christensen arms ranger 22
I love my b14 HMR 6.5, NOW I HAVE TO BUY THIS. available in .22WMR?
I understand I got the b14 r. 5 months later I got the 6.5 bmp Bergara. I know how you feel. Lol 😂👍🏻💥
@.22plinkster Would you say .22 L.R. round nose lead bullets are more accurate than round nose plated bullets? I would think the copper wash could slightly affect accuracy due to slight difference in jacket thickness? Have you ever tested this?
I usually suck on my bullets before I load them,,, kinda makes me gitty.
Is that the Caldwell stable table lite ? Bench you shooting off of? If so do you recommend it?
Great video! QQ, would the Vudoo mags work in Bergara B14R or vice versa given they are both Rem700 size?
I have seen conflicting reports on that. They are both AICS pattern mags, but the geometry of the round presentation can be slightly different. I would lean towards not relying on them working, but some people have said they do feed, some say they dont.
I would like to see a video on Cz trainer.i think u would enjoy it and great trainer rifle also.
One such instance was a few days ago at my rifle club a guy was shooting his essentially new B14r suppressed and got poor groups and did poorly shooting a KYL steel target set up
He removed the suppressor and immediately shot very good groups and did well on the KYL target rack
Same ammo only thing that changed was removing the suppressor
He was shooting SK Match Rifle ammo
Are you still monetized? Was wondering if CZcams was still playing games with the gun channels.
im not sure if there is a big demand for this but can you either review or list the best rifles for us that shoot lefty? I'm sick of finding a cool rifle and then be disappointed when i find out their not made for me.
I hear ya! Currently shoot CZ 452 leftys. Have American and Lux. They're getting hard to find now though.
Call begara there great people. On the lefty. It’s really nice. They will try there best to help or make you one. In begara Spain. 👍🏻
I want one of those iPlink t shirts!
Don't have a bolt gun but this looks like a great (i.e., affordable) way to get into long range shooting. Sure I could pay more for a .308 or 6.5 Creedmore but would rather not burn through ammo (besides I don't have a .22LR bolt gun).
When are you going to actually drive tacks with a 22? I would try, but still in lockdown here in Melbourne 😭
22Plinkster has a video out splitting a playing card (x2 the way I saw it!)
Sweet rifle!
How done USA work out gun brand ,when you have different barrels ,trigger and frame
Odd I see better groups out of that rifle. Any can will effect accuracy slightly. Wonder how that one will do without the can on it.
When you say "acclimate the barrel" to a specific ammo, what does that mean? What steps do you take?
Liked the demonstration, have you ever tested any of the Anschutz 22 LR Rifles?
It really is a nice rifle but it’s pricey for the times we are in. I can’t even find 22LR ammo and if I do it’s double priced backyard ammo.
In Finland we have all in stock with the same price.
Hey, love your channel and watch it since I don't know when! :) But these vids seem a bit quiet? Could you level up the audio?
Are you going to try the BMR .22lr soon
