- Hey guys, Is Nikon hate real? Is Nikon bashing a thing? In this video I talk about and address the Nikon haters and bashing ahead of the much anticipated Nikon Z6III release. This coming Monday is the day us Nikon photographers have been waiting for for some time now.

I don't care how good other brands are. I'm invested in Nikon. I'm a hobbyist and have spent a lot of money to have what I have. I don't have the money to switch brands just because someone else has a better camera at the moment. As long as Nikon gives me what I need to get me the results I need that's all I need from them. I don't do video so I don't need the best video specs. Others may. People often forget that they're not just buying a camera. They're buying into a system. The lenses Nikon is making are great. Having the largest mount and shortest phlange distance allows Nikon to do things never before done. The 135mm Plena is just one example. Silent motors and no focus breathing is something some brands can't brag about. I would like to see Nikon come out with more affordable lenses and more third party lenses for those that need them. I really think that's what's lacking the most. The z8, z9 and zf are phenomenal cameras. The z6 III will be a well. I think the only thing it'll lack is the stacked sensor which means it will have screen blackout. That's one of the reasons why I bought a z8. I find that very annoying when shooting in burst mode and trying to track a moving subject. At some point I might sell my z6 II for a z6 III but it'll be a while. There's nothing wrong with my z6 II but it lacks the auto focus and tracking modes my z8 has. The haters complain about Nikon being behind. It wasn't until the Sony a7 III came out that they had eye auto focus. Nikon stuck it in their first mirrorless cameras. No it wasn't on the same level as the Sony but it was farther ahead than Sony's first mirrorless camera. And that's what people need to keep in mind. Compare Nikon's first gen mirrorless with Sony's first gen not their third gen.

I chose Nikon years ago because I liked the color scheme of the body lol. I know the menu system now and have no interest in learning a new system. I don't make my living with photography it's a hobby and Nikon is just fine with me.
And I like the soft release button on Nikons. Always hated Canon clicky button. Also the shutter sound is very satisfying.

I’ve been shooting with a Nikon professionally for over 10 years. Back in the film days I also had a Nikon 35mm film camera. I’ve recently rented both z8 and Canon r6 ii and not knocking on Nikon because they’ve made huge improvements but whenever I need to shoot fast action I noticed the Canon r6 ii was stickier and I got more keepers. The z8 likes to go to the background a bit too much for my liking and it’s quite jumpy too.
However, whenever I needed to do a product shoot the Nikon has a big advantage of being able to do auto focus stacking with flash so that’s very useful when shooting products. Not sure why Canon doesn’t offer that but I hear it’s a limitation of the Front Side sensors they use. 🤷♂️
Also the Nikon 24, 35, 50 mm 1.8 lenses don’t have that annoying sounding motor that the Canon RF’s 1.8 STM lenses have.
So both brands have their pros and cons. If I could afford both I’d get a Z and an R camera as I like them both.
The Z8/Z9 focus is more complicated than Canon there are ways to work with it to avoid jumping to the background. Mainly using custom Focus rectangles. They work on the ZF as well.
I'm heavily invested in Canon RF lenses so not going to be swapping brands anytime soon, but I think Nikon's future looks bright they're positioned in the market where they can throw everything into their cameras to challenge Canon and Sony and now with the purchase of Red who knows what magic they will produce for video. The R3D raw Red format is like butter to grade and work with it'd be great to see it in a Nikon camera soon.
There is no such thing as Nikon haters. There are people who hate this or that, but it's true about everything.
I love my Nikon D610, D750, and D810. Some of my lenses are 30 years old and some are modern. I have no desire to upgrade, because I cannot justify the expense. The picture quality and performance of these cameras are perfect in my opinion. I enjoy hearing from you.

Too bad, lots of us were badly treated by Canon or Sony, those folks bought A1, A7S3, R5... or in-too-deep to either of them & can't get a nice wildlife setup... I am glad that I cut the loss the switched to Z8, 800PF & other lenses for wildlife.... will get Z6III, maybe Z7III too 🤣 Agree, no one is perfect, I really like what Nikon have been offering nowadays
Not currently using Nikon but very interested in what they bring to the market. I’m not a videographer and really want a camera with higher resolution like the Z7 family or Z8. I did buy a Z9 but a little too big and heavy at the time and there was no companion body like the Z8 to also take a second smaller body when needed. That said I still own three Nikon film bodies and several F mount lenses for them. Want to see what they bring out. Take care.

What haters? It’s just gear ⚙️ what I find funny is that people feel they need to defend the brand they purchased and upload videos about it. Ignore and create period.
Still love my OG Z6. The autofocus isn't that much of an issue for me. Of course I wish it was better, but I produce the best images I have ever produced with this camera and I love it. I'd be ecstatic if it was around $2K. I expect around $2400, though.
I didn’t like the Z6-1 much, but I love my D3S & D3X. Will probably try the Zf some time. I still think the FE & FE2 were my favourites. So simple and built to last.
I'm waiting for the Z6IV coming in 2026. The Z6III doesn't have the side select focus button like on Z8 or Z9 this is no good if you have to search in menus for focus modes.
Agree. Cheering a brand to do bad makes no sense. First, more brands keep the prices down due to competition. 2nd, innovation from one brand means others copy. Everyone wins pros and hobbyists alike.

I confess that I am a bit of an equipment lover and that I will likely buy the Z6III after I see the specs on Monday because I love technology, even if I know I'll probably never use a lot of it. I've been with Nikon for 40 years and I have no interest in changing. When it comes to cameras, I constantly have to remind myself that Cartier-Bresson did most of his work with the Leica 35mm rangefinder and that fine photography can be done with almost any camera.
I don't mind fighting fire with fire. Look at all the negatives of Sony: super slow firmware updates, slow adoption of cfexpress type b memory cards, E mount is small, small uncomfortable bodies, Sony has not released an 85mm 1.2 lens yet (probably because the E mount is too small lol, my guess). Since Sony fanboys don't have an 85mm 1.2, they result to trashing others as a defense mechanism because deep down they are jealous.
Ignore the trolls and haters, they are just trying to get a rise out of you. All we have to do is stay positive and help make Nikon better with fixes to problems. The autofocus on all the Expeed 7 cameras are awesome now. Nikon is back baby!
I shoot Sony and follow many Sony-centric channels. I really never see Nikon bashing or any other camera brand for that matter. The only time I typically see bashing is from a couple of people that non-stop bash Sony on the Sony Alpha Rumors website. I actually like when all of the camera companies develop new and innovative technology. It forces the one I am invested in to continue to improve. Us consumers the are the beneficiaries of this. Also, Sony is not slow to adopt CFExpress Type B, they don’t use it at all. They use Type A with dual slots that can also use SD in dual slots. Those Type As are becoming faster and cheaper every year.
They are very subtle at times but it definitely there , anti Nikon , anti retro & anti crop anything especially m4/3 .
I think you’re talking about the camera conspiracy guy in Ontario. He’s mostly a Sony shooter. To be fair, he is tough on Canon as well. I think his criticism was on Nikon IBIS. I noticed nobody talks about Panasonic.

I don't think Nikon is big enough to get to number 1, but sure do hope they stay in the top 3. The more camera manufactures there are the better for the consumer. Who knows? I like Nikon and could care less what others shoot, enjoy the art of photography!
I watched one well known photographer review the Z8 and bash it and it was clear he didn't know how to use it. Or, should I say he was not familiar with using it and liked the brand he was used to. All these cameras have a steep learning curve and even steeper if you are coming from another brand.
Nikon isn't getting to the top position because it doesn't appeal to wide range of consumers, they are making niche products.

V I just don't think the Nikon corporate strategy is correct for it's fans and consumers. I love the products but the in between is killing me. People like you should be seen as mediator, a go between. Instead we get assumptions and rumors for so long that the joy is long dead for some of us.
Never understood this hate thing towards camera brands , don’t you find it boring ? What works well for one person might not work for someone else .

You are so true. Judging Nikon only from the outside, and I like the lenses and color science a lot. It's about preferences and taste. And the more choice we have, the better.

I think you see a lot of Nikon bashing because you look for it and are overly sensitive to it.

He’s been hating on Nikon for many many years and just recently he bought then Zf.
So now he claims he shoots three brands. No you don’t. You bought the Zf for its nostalgia, you even said so when you bought it.
He absolutely hates any progress that Nikon makes and has never owned a Nikon DSLR or mirrorless before the Zf.
His videos are all about Nikon can’t do this or that but Canon and Sony can.

1, he’s a canon fanboy who has literally hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of canon and Sony gear.
2, he’s never owned a Nikon DSLR or mirrorless camera until he bought the Zf for its aesthetic looks.
3, he’s always making videos about how good canon and sony are compared to nikon.
4, when nikon bought Red, he was literally butt hurt about this and was making fun saying the Japanese government won’t allow it.
5, he’s always making videos attacking or criticising other YT channels and personal, calling them all sorts of names, yet when anyone calls him a name he doesn’t like it, (exactly like the angry photographer), and makes a rebuttal video about how his feelings have been hurt, and how he’s going to report them to YT and how he’s going to get the FBI and CIA to investigate this name calling.

@@felm.974It’s actually 8 stops of 5 axis stabilization, which is really good but, the Sony vlogging cameras crop in more with their electric stabilization and they also have software to improve it even more.
I agree on the marketing aspect of Nikon. There’s loyal customers that could help market their products. Plus, more faces to help promote their products is a win for all.
Most people don't care about brands. I shoot with Nikon because it checks my boxes better than other brands, all that can change at any time in the future. Brand loyalty is stupid.
@@USGrant21st what does this have to do with me agreeing with Vahagraphy that Nikon could do a better job marketing their products? Opening up the door for others to share their experiences with a Nikon product could help bring folks in with the features that some of the same promoters often neglect. Often times Nikon under markets their product value.

Over the years camera companies tend to leap frog over each other every 4 years. Canon is too big and slow. Much like Nikon was up until the late eighties. Nikon is hungry so the next generation like the z9ii will be that much better. I have no issues with the current flagship.
Canon and Nikon produce the best colors and the best ergonomic cameras.
The old lens lines up are a treasure.

well said. All brands have their strengths and weaknesses... but something that enchants me about Nikon is that it is a brand with a photographic soul. She had her setbacks in the first mirrorless versions, but now she has the wind in her sails and delivers everything she is capable of. About the haters, the vast majority are children who haven't even learned about composition yet, if you hand them a camera that has faulty automatic functions, they won't understand anything. They don't understand photography with a soul and they are certainly just parrots repeating nonsense.
Nikon vs. other brands reminds me of the rivalry between University of Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State University. If you see someone in an OU shirt in Oklahoma, you just think they went to Walmart. If you see someone an OSU shirt, you know they went to OSU, or a family member did.
When I see Nikon cameras on the used market and they are most often well used. Mint Nikon gear is not so common. Mint, unused, Canon or Sony gear is easy to find here.

The sad part is that much of the general public bashing Nikon should work to improve their own photography first. I believe it's the photographer, not the camera, that makes the difference. I am sure many in the general public could stand to improve their photography rather than comparing brands. Totally master the art and let your pictures do the talking. What's the sense if your images are bad. Remember, any camera is capable of taking fantastic images. Just be the one who can consistently produce those kinds of images.
Most of the hate is coming from Sony fans. At this point, in tech, Nikon (and Canon) is ridiculously far ahead of Sony, especially in the wildlife/sports action game. The reality is that even lessor tech is plenty good enough for general photography, portraits, landscapes, and basically all genre's except wildlife/sports action. If this were a raging camera market I would say that if Sony released 8-10 great wildlife/sports action lenses within the next two years (and Nikon released zero) then maybe they could get in the conversation. But that is just not the case. The market continues to shrink and the investment Sony would have to make in R&D for wildlife/sports action lenses is too great with practically no hope to recover that investment. It is an insurmountable lead and there is not path ahead where Sony catches up without bankrupting its camera division.
I generally agree with you, but not for the camera conspiracy channel. He wanted so long to love Nikon. He loves the angry photographers praise of Nikon glas, he loves the myth of 3D Pop, low elements of glas, he tests all brands, he loves the Nikon colors, some years earlier, he testet the z30 and was pleased. Now, some generous followers gives him a Zf plus some lenses. He was so exiting. He tests alle kinds of lenses in comparison, he tested the 3000 $ 85mm 1.2, and he want to switch all in to Nikon, but 2 or 3 things he now don't like. The weak slowmo, the unusable Stabilisator for vlogging in his style, the af sometimes and the colors in some videos. Look at yourself his videos, he tested every day nikon stuff, while he rant about some other themes. Since 3 weeks now. And he proved in his special video scenarios the weakness of Voigtländer, Zeiss, nikon, Sony, Canon vintage EF lens, and so on. Now he is unsure, to switch all in to nikon, cause he loves slowmo and vlogging. He is now waiting for the Z6III, but the old Sony 7SIII is for video maybe still better, cause the 12 MP Sensor. He isn't very interested in stills photography. That's the point in his reviews.
Vblogger needs are highly niche and that is why he is down on it. It's not the best for slomo or stab but that does not matter to 99% of people.
Very good talk about haters of new Nikon cameras. The brand is foucussed on creating great images that are marketed for professional photographers. The other brand has fast auto-focus but care less about image quality. Great video!

Im a sony user for some time now. I used to hate nikon because they were behind a bit. Now they’re up there with the top dogs. I’m planning to switch back to nikon system because of the Zf and 400mm 4.5. Now this z6iii is up, damn I’m excited.

z6iii might catch up r6ii after 1.5 years time，and still less megapixels than A7iv which was released ages ago, that's why people got fed up. Btw I am an Zf user.

The R6ii caught up with the Z6ii. The only features it had the surpassed the Nikon was autofocus. It would be nice if Nikon had a 30-33mp sensor in the Z6iii.
@@richardfink7666 Crop-abliity, BIF and wildlife. . There have been many times when 24MP was not enough. I have a Z8 and Z6ii. Z8 in DX mode is only 19MP.

Any Brand the brings out basically the same sensor but a upgraded processor is going to get heavily criticized. Doesn't really matter who that camera Brand is. Especially if that particular Camera has been long awaited. Especially if the sensor isn't stacked and is still 24MP.
Nikon better be careful in NYC with the NDA. They may go after the company for unfair trade practices, rigging the camera market.

Nikon are rigging the election by not letting everyone know what a Ziii looks like.If they did, they might vote differently.
Ask yourself why some of these people hate Nikon. Perhaps ask the D600 users who lost money on their cameras when the value plummeted thanks to Nikon's handling of the mirror assembly unit issue. Or perhaps ask the D7000 users who never got Nikon to acknowledge or fix the AF issues they had. And so one can go on. Not everyone has money to waste. It's easy to stand there & call these people haters, yet let Nikon off the hook for it's attitude towards customers who spent their hard earned money, only to lose big time. But you obviously don't get it
I bought a used D7000 and never had any trouble with Focusing, with Nikon or any 3rd Party lens. Nikon has had some hardware foibles with the D600 especially. Nikon was called out on that. The D850 some had focusing issues from the factory with the Left side focusing points alignment. Nikon addressed those. My Early release Z8 was in the Shop twice for repairs, I was without it for 2 months. But Nikon made things right. Funny thing I think Nikons Marketing of the Z6ii left met more disappointed. As I believe it would be a step above the Z6 in focusing capabilities only to see that Firmware updates on the Z6 gave it about 90% of the focusing Capabilities of the Z6ii. After using my Z8 I'm looking forward to my Z6ii to be replaced by a camera with the same quality of AF as the Z9/8 and ZF. The Z6ii marketing promised more than it delivered, but it was a solid camera in every other aspect except class leading autofocus.
@@williambuford6136yeah, we're all wrong about the multi cam 4800 system, right? It's the exact same one used in the D600 with a few tweaks. Go check out Michael Maven's test in low light vs the Canon 6d & you'll see what we're all referring to. In good light, it's ok. But as the light drops, it misses focus

Bro , that guy is pretty smart. Ive had convos with him about the tech side of things. he knows his stuff when it comes to tech side of photography. Yes I dont agree with some of his stance about Nikon, thats fine. then again I dont agree with allot of people. lol one thing though man, please keep the name calling to photography related stuff.
