Team RTS, I had cut the pages off magazines articles and pinned them beside my bed because my dad said that if you really wanted something you have to visualize it and see it...
It didn't work I had a (very nice) Tequesta and when the head tube cracked what we could afford was a used and beaten up zaskar 😂

Thank you for reviewing our bike collection, I hope that people on here enjoyed seeing the bikes as much as we do riding and collecting them along with the memorabilia. It started in 88 for me with mountain bikes with my Raleigh and Clive with his Peugeot. We still have these then went onto the black and white Tequesta you saw in the video and Clive on the silver Pantera you see near the end, and finally in 1993 due to a lot of inspiration from Hans and GT I got the turquoise Zaskar that you see being reviewed outside. There are another 15 bikes that are not in this room too, including a re issue Zaskar, 92 Avalanche, Ricochet and many others. There are a couple of newer bikes you may see in the room to mix it up a bit and they do all get ridden especially the Zaskars as they are so iconic as I am sure you will agree. 🤟

I started riding MTB in Melbourne Australia in 1996 and are the proud owner of 2 1997 STS2 one of which is completely original down to the tyres, stickers and pedals. I would love to talk to you about these bikes and get some feedback from you about possibly selling this bike and thee best way to go about it. Can i contact you and what is the best way? Hello Hans, this is Dan Sotelo, hope you're doing well... I have a bit of a "TRUE STORY" only a few people know about mostly Richard's secretary. I think it was late 1996 when onZa was going thru a forced bankruptcy that I got a surprise phone call from an excited Richard Long. Richard did not mix words and knew that my partner was the one who was trying illegally to rip onZa away from me, and had a few choice words for him... He announced to me that come hell or high water he was going to out bid anyone or everyone when onZa came up for sale at the bankruptcy court. With one exception, if I ran the onZa division, and also promised me I would be set for life and never have to worry about money ever again... I said yes... Richard than had his secretary write up the contract for me to review after he came back from the Big Bear lake MTB race on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, that weekend Richard was killed in the motorcycle accident. Otherwise onZa & GT would be in an other world as I was already making plans for a complete drive system... Yup, that's a bit of history no one really knows about.

What makes the old GT Bikes so cool? The unique style, the design, the concept. Gary Turner (GT) had a vision, outstanding ideas for bicycles and knew/still knows how to build great bikes. And Hans "No Way" Rey als always been the great representative dude for GT Bicycles. He is an absolute legend and inspired a lot of people to buy GT and riding them. Everybody that loves bicycles usually has at least one GT.

Hans was a great inspiration for me when I got started in the early/mid 90's and my first proper mtb was actually a GT Pantera like the one at the very end and I had a Profile bar on the fornt of it. I later on had one of the Cannondales with the suspension over the fork and a Gary Fisher that got stolen from me, I do however think the GT still sits in my parents garage :)
These days I'm back in the saddle, got me a Trek Top Fuel 5 least year and I love seeing how far the sport have come since I left some many years ago :)

Upgraded forks to RS Pike ultimate charger 2.1 - 150mm and shock 130mm RS debonair deluxe ultimate and it's now SLX 12 sp with a 10/45t cassette. Also uped the wheel set. It does everything and is going strong - better than me. Original cost was £1650.00 in that years bike sales. A huge ammount of bike for the money. Don't know why I didn't see more of them.
