  • The hidden nightmare lurking behind your lower windshield stainless trim.
Common problem in 1968-1972 GM A-body cars due to a panel lap that traps water.
This repair also applies to Lemans, Skylark and 68/69 Chevelle.

Did you take any pics of the trimmed piece before? I am about to add that piece above my cowl and could only find the chevelle piece. There was not enough left for me to make any alignment marks so if you managed to come up with any measurements that would be soooooo great

Sorry, the only pics I have are what are shown in the video. But, if you pause the video you can probably make out the trim necessary to graft to the BOP structure.

How much do you charge to do that same thing to a 1972 Oldsmobile convertible

I'd recommend calling auto restoration shops in your area. A typical body shop won't touch "non-insurance" jobs, or any old cars for that matter. Haven't got a clue what they would charge, but I'd guess it ain't cheap. Be aware there's always a chance of the project snowballing. For example, they remove the windshield and find the lower channel is full of rust. That'd get expensive fast.

@@BriansGarageUSA Right, it probably would be way cheaper to buy a welder and learn how to weld.
