  • This is a start to finish episode repairing the channel the windshield sits in. We use some of the donor car to graft some sections to restore some factory body lines and mounting tabs.

      We are so humbled when we learn how much some people genuinely appreciate our efforts. This has been and continues to be a lesson for us all. The amount of rust and required fabrication involved is certainly not for the faint of heart.
      I wish you the very best during your restoration. Please keep us posted and don't hesitate to contact us if you need a shoulder to cry on.

    Still following this series! Great save when others would have parted it out. My 70 442 W25 is not as bad but still a project. Hopefully I can get something going on it soon.

      Good morning. Thank you for watching and commenting. For sure this car was by all practical rights, nothing more than a parts car.
      Good luck on your 442 project. Please keep us posted on your progress.
      Stay Tuned

    I didn't Forgetcha. Had Mower repair & grass cutting. Feel Like I had "Will it it run" Of 10 years of sitting on three riders. lol Yep First thing I noticed at the start of Mr. Jones was That Dash !! EEgads. lol but when going on a W-31 well.. You Gotta go for it. Seems like the New piece has a bigger radius in the Top corners than Mr. Jones. Gasket troubles? Don't sweat about putting tools away, keep working as late as possible. Don't lose sleep over it. Next time out you can clean up, gives you time to think what's gotta be done next maybe with newer Ideas. plus you Don't have to Get Back out some of the tools you Put away the Night before. I hate having to Handle stuff Twice. QC work experience. I Feel You Made the Correct Decision using Pieces & Not the whole Front Roof section. another Big Piece of the puzzle accomplished. *Progress* IS "Thee Name of the Game."

      Hello there Mr Green!!! Glad you have the lawn under control. I still run a 1996 Exmark Z Ride. I honestly don't think I'll ever be comfortable leaving tools out. Its just not how I'm wired. I often have to stand back and take stock of what has gotten accomplished since September. Stay Tuned. Cool stuff to come.

    Good work but I agree a new section would be faster but in line with Mr Jones build you did the right thing. are you going to use led for the pin holes just asking?

    • @theautorefinery
      @theautorefinery  Před rokem +1

      Good morning. This entire build has been an exercise in fair compromise. For any pin holes that I want to fill ( if I don't weld them more) I won't be using led. I'll use a product called All-Metal. It's made by USC and is basically a metal (aluminum) infused body filler.
      A friend introduced it to me years ago and I have good results with it.
      Thank you so much for watching.
