- How to fix rust on a car. First Gen Camaros are notorious for rust at the base of the windshield. That damage usually extends into the dash panel and lower cowl panels. We're going to go step-by-step through the process and show you how to custom fabricate sheet metal patch panels, cut, grind, shape, fit, weld, dress and blend them in and make the repair look as good as new.

Looks awesome man! Nice work.
Gotta keep plugging away! 👍
Having the press and roller tool-machines is a must. Lot of us don't have this so its Anvil time 'Al a Carte"
Fantastic metal work Paradise!! Good as new. Looks too good to be covered up by dash panel. lol
Great video! Attention to detail and fine workmanship. You are a craftsman.
Thanks Charlie. Kind of you to say. I’m really enjoying the process - happy to share what I can. 🍻
Looks like it is in better condition than mine, lol. Look forward to more.
Thanks 👍 Gonna check your channel out too.
My most favorite car...had one a long time ago. I had to sell so I could bury my Father. One day; I'll have one again. Many thanks for your work.

Hey brother I’ve got the mini tubs in the fitted the floor, all the quarters, the roof. However, I just watched your video on modifications to fit Tremce transmission and we will be doing that. Check out “Trunk Monkey Rod Shop” on CZcams. Thanks again for all the great work. 🍻

@@ParadiseBayCustoms so far as i need to do a floor pan replacement on mine too
💪
Thanks!
Do you use seam seal after?
I will… After I epoxy paint everything. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍
Good work! My lower cowl was too far gone , I’m waiting for the new one to arrive. You mentioned Princess Auto, where are you in Canada?
Thanks! I’m in Winnipeg. You?
@@ParadiseBayCustoms Windsor On.
Where are you at on your build? Plans?
@@ParadiseBayCustoms Hi , I finished new floors, mini tubs, subframe connectors, removed both quarters and sandblasted the inner body framing. I’m prepping for epoxy priming that area now, while waiting for the lower cowl and still waiting on the drivers side quarter from the Camaro depot. I ordered the Detroit Speed quadralink as well so that I can install that box for the coil overs in the back. I’m still debating on the front subframe from Detroit Speed, I saw that you sure going that root. Very expensive, but why cut corners after going this far?
@@TheLooper0 My thinking exactly! Sounds like we are on parallel paths with you out in front! Do you post/share your progress anywhere? Would love to follow along? Instagram? Facebook? I put daily updates when I’m working on the car to Instagram… This kinda stuff keeps me motivated! 😂🤪😂
Can you replace the lower cowl without removing the windshield?
No. It forms the base for the windshield. Upper cowl is simply another layer on top of lower - both forming the base of the windshield.
There is no way to stop further rust underneath of layer by layer sheet metals. Hate Full. Rust starts right after welding
That's why I love the panel adhesive ..it treats the metal and bonds it so well ..no more rust !!
