Formula 1 is far more interesting than any other aviation competition. I can relate to the philosophy, the equipment and the financial commitment required.
Limitless is an absolutely gorgeous example, as is the Endeavor, designed by Mike Arnold.
Absolutely your best interview yet! I'm a STOL guy and knew zero about Reno and air racing, but found this interview to be so comprehensive and informative! Great job!

Good segment. You ask the right questions for people with little knowledge of F1. For me, much more interesting than you near obsession with STOL.
Love that sound sounds just like my RC pylon racer must be a hand full taking off. I wonder if they put little more weight on the inside wing like RC pylon racing so the inside wing just stays down all you do is pull the stick back.
You don't need asymmetric weight to keep the wing down... Thats not how stability & control works.

Would have been interesting to see how he manages everything with hand controls.
He has a traditional center stick for aileron and elevator with the addition of a motorcycle style brake lever that controls the brake on the right side main gear. On the left side of the fuselage there is a second control stick that moves in a push-pull motion for rudder control. It has a motorcycle style twist throttle on it as well, along with another brake lever for the left side main gear. Then at the very top, up through the middle of the twist throttle, is a mixture control knob that he can adjust with his thumb.

I never thought that Formula 1 air racing would have standing starts like F1 auto racing.
These inspirational stories always remind me that I need to quit bitching so much.
