    Coming from Garmin, I’ve now been using the Oura 3 alongside a Whoop 4 and AWU for around six months and I’m impressed with the Oura metrics. Sleep and readiness scores feel more balanced than Whoop and the app is well designed. Being able to view Oura data on my AW is big plus. The only pro I see for the UH right now is that it has no sub model and the different form factor for those who care.

    While there could be some level of inaccuracy, the Average Nightly SpO2 score you got (92%) is likely more accurate than you think. First of all, SpO2 naturally drops at night. Also, despite amazing fitness level, it's conceivable that you have some level of sleep-apnea or a sleep-disorder of which you are unaware.

      What do you think of the sizing compared to the sizers? I'm pretty torn between 8 and 9. 9 spins on my finger if I spin it intentionally and can slide off easily, but it does stay in place when on. The 8 stays put perfectly, but getting it around my knuckle can be difficult (I had to use soap to get the sizer off), to the point that I worry if I were to swell up it would be trapped on. I really wish they allowed one size exchange. 😡

    • @TheManWithTwoWatches

      I was going to go with the size 12, their largest size, but I went with the size 11 and it does not slide too much on my left index finger. And the Ring Air doesn't slide up to my first knuckle either. And yes, it would be cool if both Utrahuman & ÕURA Ring allowed for a size exchange within the first 45 days. I also have a Whoop 4 and Oura 3 (paired with an AWU or Epix). I’m not so sure I will renew my Whoop subscription in its current state. It puts too much emphasis on HRV (imho) and the HR readings are always a bit off (higher) compared to my other devices. Oura scores often feel more balanced and the app is the best I’ve seen to date. Whoop is nice, but not as good/better as the price point suggests.

  • @tjmruns

    I bought a finger SpO2 sensor because my Whoop scared me with the low value everyday. Same results you were getting with the ring. Infinitely interested in this product! I think you answered it, but I'm guessing it does not write HRV/RHR/sleepstages/body temp to Apple health? That would be incredibly useful for utilizing other apps. And secondly, is it able to give you Super low readiness and sleep scores if you had a terrible night? My biggest complaint with Oura is even on terrible nights I would get still in the mid 70s for sleep score. Awesome review! And honestly it's a total huge steal at $350 because it comes in matte black! That's absolutely the color choice I would want, which costs $500 with Oura!

      I tried to test the accuracy of the step counting. The best I could do was compare it to my Garmin 965. The garmin recorded roughly 22000 steps on a sample day while ultrahuman recorded 24000. I hope that Garmin will not move towards music, wireless calling and payment and try to become an Apple Watch. Garmin functions and should stay in a different world compared to Apple.

    Hi, I'm hoping you will see this comment/question and reply to it :)
    First of all, thank you for doing this video.
    What about the circadian rhythm tracking? On the Ultrahuman website and in other videos about the Air ring, I've seen this mentioned but you don't talk about it in your video.
    I'm currently debating between getting an Oura or Ultrahuman Air ring and I was leaning toward the Oura until I saw this interesting feature about the circadian rhythm on the Ultrahuman Air. But if it's not there, then I think I will just go for the Oura... Thanks in advance!

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Circadian rhythm tracking is a feature within the app it basically displays your "Circadian Phase Alignment" on a clock (shown in the video) to let you know when you should start winding down and spending less screen time. Useful feature but once you learn habits probably not something you look at every day.

    • @Nathyk3
      @Nathyk3 Před 10 měsíci

      @@ChaseTheSummit Thank you so much for taking the time to answer, much appreciated. I rewatched the video and see now that when you start talking about the app features and the countdown, that's where "circadian" is mentioned. I had only see the clock version (with like different colors for the different zones) so I didn't put 2 and 2 together, my apologies. From what you say it sounds less interesting than I thought, thank you very much for your helpful feedback.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  Před 7 měsíci

      It’s in the right ballpark but I haven’t tested absolute accuracy. To be honest step accuracy isn’t very important it’s more about consistency so you can tell an active day compared to a sedentary day.

  • @ravingmad765
    @ravingmad765 Před 2 měsíci

    You should worry less about accuracy and more about relatability. Why? The most these things can really monit well is the trend over time. It doesn't matter if it's accurate (within reason) just that you know if it's going up or down.

    Well, I gave this a go based on this video. My choice of course and I wanted to try something up and coming. My experience has not been good. My ring failed to record any data once I put my phone in airplane mode (bluetooth wifi still on). I work in aviation so my phone is in airplane mode everyday for hours. This issue rendered the data the ring provided as useless as there was huge gaps everyday with no recorded date at all. I got support and they told me several things to try. Stuff a moron would already try themselves before contacting support eg. cycle bluetooth on and off. Disconnect the ring and reconnect. Delete app and download again. Support told me to do a factory reset of the ring so I did. The ring now fails to connect to the app or my phone no matter what I do. They have now offered a replacement. Satisfactory outcome I guess except for the 4+ week wait for a new ring and the import customs charges I will have to pay once again on the same item.

    I have the Oura lifetime for free soooo I am not seeing this as a thing. I mean I've been with Oura forom jump and no sponsorship but this looks like an oura slander. I love to see competition but when you do a size comparion and use an 11 Oura and like a 9 Ultra human it doesn'tmatter what you say people will look at the size. I have NEVER felt the Oura on my hand. I rock climb, I have been to the gun range in the sandbox out side the wire in the woods etc. My mates have to remind me to take it off so you don't skin my finger on a bad fall. If you are new and its $6 v no $6 I get that just be honest if you are doing sponsored content and tried to get their stuff out.

    Thank you, nice review. In 2024, the Iris ring will surpass it as having the smallest form factor. But the most feature for all of these rings, Oura ring, Ultrahuman ring, Ringconn, Circular ring, Iris ring, is and should be the accuracy of measurement. Oura is the most established brand among these but its measurement accuracy is notorious, especially for heart rate. Sleep stage detection is mediocre. Check the channel Quantified Scientist for Oura ring review. and I don't think other brands perform any better than Oura. I really hope the Iris ring breaks ground when it launches early next year. One final word, I hate companies not allowing users to export their own data. I cannot understand the logic behind it. It should be strictly prohibited.
