    Great insights into your experience with the AWU. I have had a different experience and was very frustrated upgrading from the Series 8 to the AWU2. Workouts being interrupted either by the touchscreen or me trying to figure out where to go next using Google Maps or Apple Maps, and much more. 2 Weeks ago I got my hands on a Garmin Tactix Delta, brand new from a Jeweller at a steep discount. It comes with everything I wanted right out of the box, the maps are fantastic and the battery lasts and lasts. I haven't even charged it yet. The AWU2 my wife grabbed it and I'm happy with a watch that dates back to 2019. I wonder what the new Garmin Tactix 7 will be like.

      That’s a very good insight, the battery life is definitely big selling point alone. In fact I was about to get the Garmin Fenix 7 at the time but just then the AWU came out. Glad you liked the review 🙏

    The first time I saw this wartch I was thinking to my father when he was climbing and I completely agree, I also think is not the case to buy this if you just want a badass technology piece… so, absolutely, 100%. By myself that I do something only in weekends and only small trekking I think there are far better options that got a far battery life.
    There thousands think to look when you buy this type of devices, that’s the cooler part in my opinion, and is whole upon to your need.
    For my need I ended to buy a Bip 5 for example and probably I will going on with this brand.
    There are thousands of things to wonder and you cannot just watch a review or a video so great great video! And luckily you aren’t even the only.
    So, I agree, it is doing decently what it is made for and in my opinion it isn’t even costing too much (probably one of the few Apple products that cost correctly).

      I agree 100%, very much depends on needs and even then, there are great options across the board. I’ll have a look into Bip, not had the chance to try one yet :)
      Thank you for the detailed response 🙏

    Yep. Great video. Obviously a real climber. Learned some great stuff. What strap are you now using?

      Hey, I’m mainly using an older model fabric Sport Loop, which is kinda similar to the trail loop, easy to adjust and v comfy. Can’t really justify paying £100 for the trail loop… ;)

    Great video! What‘s the name of the Watch face you used at 02:02? Looks nice with all the Info 👌🏻

    • @benmenashe
      @benmenashe  Před měsícem +1

      Hey Nilson, it's the "Modular Ultra", Bezel: "elevation", the Style is set to "H:M:S: II" and the "Cloud Blue" colour way.
      As for the complications, from top left: Temperature, Compass, Today's Date, And from bottom left: Activity, Sunrise/Sunset and Redpoint (this is the climbing app I reviewed in the video ;) )
      I find this setup is quite helpful when outdoors, as you get important info at a glance and can log a climb quickly etc.
      Hope this helps!

    Good video. I have the aluminum series 7 and someone got a scratch on the screen where in one spot it is kind of deep. I was throwing the idea back and forth or upgrading to either a stainless steel or ultra. So the screen on either would be a lot more durable? How does the body of the stainless steel hold up? Does it have a lot of scratches on the body to where the ultra would be better? Thanks.

    • @benmenashe
      @benmenashe  Před měsícem

      Hey Jeremy, in my experience, the screen on both the stainless steel and Ultra would hold up much better for scratches, the body of both would get scratched climbing, same as any watch I guess… :) durability-wise, the big difference between the two is that the Ultra has a raised lip on the sides which protects the screen from bangs etc. while on the stainless steel the screen is exposed on the sides and could get damaged more easily… hope this helps?

    I've been watching a lot of apple watch vids where every geek says "this watch is too big for my tiny wrist"
    Not a problem for this dude, look at his hands💀

    • @benmenashe
      @benmenashe  Před měsícem

      Haha, yeah I didn’t even think about that! That being said, I think my hand size is average, I’m between Medium/Large in gloves depending on the brand. Probably best to try it on first :)

      Hey there sorry, I don’t fully understand. This video is not a promotion of any sort, the watch and all the apps were paid for by me, and this is how I use all of it when climbing outdoors or in the gym. Hope this helps :)
