- Some things never change -- and of course FromSoftware's Moonlight Greatsword fits that bill -- after all, if it's not broken, why fix it?
PS: I figured out what weapon I want to use for the Shadow of the Erdtree. 100% going for the Senpou Monk Kick thingie x)
PS.S: At the time of recording, there have been a few things I wasn't aware of, things like in DeS, dying at any point in the tutorial will teleport you to the Nexus (not just against the Vanguard Demon), or the fact that Longswords in DS3 have a higher DPS when one handed, as opposed to two handed. I knew that if you have an aux. effect like bleed or frostbite, 1H is obviously better (usually) but I didn't know that even without those it's a better choice, so I am sorry about that!! I'll have better gameplay next time around. Also I only recently discovered DeS shows the time spent on a character but only while in-game, not on the loading menu :(

I don't like it actually. It consists of a lot of higher notes and these higher notes feel too high to me, to the point i would describe them as shrill, always making me kinda annoyed
There was an exploit that was patched out. Under the minor erdtree in liurnia southwest of the academy there was a tilted stone pillar that you could ride on and jump on the side cliff that the church was on, after you dismout torrent you would use bloody slash to kill yourself and after you respawned at the stake of marika it would teleport you right outside the church which basically allowed you to skip ranni's questline and get the sword literally as soon as you got torrent from melina.
I remember seeing this back in the day although I've never attempted it myself -- wish it was still possible tbh, in case I ever want to make another character with the MLGS in mind x)
A note is that for max runes from Greyole without much effort you can use several popular community passwords for the chance of the erd tree blessing when someone kills a shard bearer or becomes elden lord. That bonus stacks with the golden fowl foot so it's a free source of even more early runes.

@@fermyonds I always run at least the fextralife and Vaati's community codes since their probability the two biggest ones. I have the buff more often than not it seems like even now.
Nothing will beat the Bloodborne design, that turquoise just looks dope.
I really like the Demon's Souls variant as well with the super glowy bits but Bloodborne's is just top notch

Frostbite and fire combo really makes DS3 easier

Vordt's Hammer is so good in general -- I didn't use it here due to the (relatively) massive str/weight requirement but in a normal playthrough it's one of my favorite weapons to use :)

If you're gonna keep doing these I think the Uchigatana appears in every souls game, including Sekiro if you wanna count it.
a lot of weapons reappear throughout the soulsborne games, thing about patches and the moonlight greatsword is that they appear outside of the soulsborne universe
I have some plans with the Uchigatana and a few other weapons -- I don't think its gonna be the next one but its gonna come eventually!

I feel like if all of the runs would be super optimized, it'd be a close call between Demon's Souls & DS3 -- I'm confident you can get it within 20 mins in DeS if you just rush to 5-1 as soon as you finish up 1-1
Either guts sword or the cover armor next? (For ds1 it's the elite armor, ds2 is the faraam armor, bloodborne is the hunter attire etc)

I think it would be possible to be much much faster with Bloodborne as well -- I'll have to retry sometime!
I'm not sure as with bloodborne you have to kill tons of bosses and then beat Ludwig quickly, I believe ds3 might be quicker
@@grimm3995 Actually you have to kill more bosses in dark souls 3 to get the sword, you need to kill gundyer dancer and oceiros to get the boss soul and then vordt and curse rotted greatwood to get the actual boss weapon. In bloodborne you only need to kill father gascoigne and Vicar Emelia to get into the DLC and then you would need to only kill Ludwig. And if someone can kill dancer before killing Vordt or before killing abyss watchers I think they are at a good skill level to kill Ludwig after Vicar Emelia.

In dark souls 3 you can "cheese" Oceiros by making him stuck. If you are good at game, you can kill Vordt, buy great heavy soul arrow, kill Dancer and kill Oceiros. I'm not sure that this will be faster than you run, but at least Oceiros will be much easier
Also, sellsword twinblades with Flynn's ring may have good dps, especially with some resin

I think elden ring run could be much faster, because all remembrances glitchless is less than 2 hours

Regarding the ER run, you're right -- looking back on it I should've maybe done a few more runs to get a good feel / execute certain steps faster, but I'll be sure to redeem my run sometime x)
The Demons Souls version of the sword is my favorite. Ignoring shields is just too sweet.
Its also the most unique I feel like. Its cool that it has Faith scaling instead of Intelligence
There’s a faster way to traverse the lake of rot without flame cleanse me. If you roll in the rot and then leave the rot pool it will start building up on your clothing and when you get proc’ed this way it’s much weaker than getting proc’ed while in the rot pool. So you can safely run through there healing periodically instead of spamming flame cleanse me. I used to spam flame cleanse me until I realized this

Tip for astel and all those weird skelebug creatures that have the giant eyeball in their skull's forehead. Spectral throw/lance. Can't remember where you get it but omg being able to chuck a speak right into their eye aka their WEAK POINT. Easiest fight of my life.

I had no idea who would be first, but my guess going in was Elden Ring being dead last since the Ranni quest is super long and has a lot of required bosses to see it through. Red Wolf, Rennala, Loretta, Radahn, Mimic Tear, Blaidd's shade as a mini boss, and Astel. They're all over the map and many of those are scaled for late game, so you need to get good or do a lot of farming.
Honestly I wanna redo the Elden Ring portion just for fun sometime :) I think I could get it sub 2 hours if I tried super hard and optimized it more
My fastest way to kill the dancer early, is that she is vulnerable to bleed, so my low level Ashen One killed her with a raw bandit knife (which is also handy for the sidestep dodge) That said, I never considered killing Oceiros, so I have no idea how I would do. My friend and I are doing a tour for a Souls newbie of the souls series, and my friend decided he would do the Moonlight Greatsword for each game. This video will be handy.
Someone told me that with a 100% phys reduction shield, Oceiros is a cakewalk with the Bandit Knife -- so it's incredibly likely that you can also use the same strategy -- that said, I hope you all are gonna have fun! It's always a pleasure playing with a newbie :)
I like this new series a lot. A good candidate for one in the future would be the Uchigatana
I do have some plans with the Uchigatana and a few other iconic weapons (like the Greatsword) that I wanna do in the near future! I don't think I'll have it finished this month (As I already started work on a few other things) but I will do it eventually!

I think Elden Ring can be excused a bit since it's an open world game. I didn't know the frostbite reset trick came from Souls 3 first, that's very handy! One day when I get my own pc, I'd like to play Dark Souls 3 and do your route of getting the Moonlight Greatsword and beat the rest of the game with my favorite sword~

If you look at the setup for a bloodhound fang speedrun, you can have a +9 within like a half hour and then just steamroll ranni's quest@@fermyonds

now... technically you can speed up DS3 with a few cheese tactics. Something that I recently discovered is you can keep the Dancer's AI frozen if you enter the boss room but as far away from the fog as you possibly can be and then mash backstep. If you have a bow and arrows you can beat her without ever reacting to you.
After that Oceiros can be cheesed by running to the back right corner (from where you enter the boss room) once he goes into 2nd phase, then you run around the roots to the very back where you would normally leave after defeating him; he will be stuck and unable to reach you, only his breath attack will cause harm.
So a bow build would actually be able to do this pretty fast if not investing in other stats for magic or pestilent mist to beat Oceiros :V
did some testing and you can totally get to Oceiros around 40 mins (I got there around 50 but I also haven't played in a bit and died to Gundyr once, Vort once; he also didn't do his usual 3 charges and it threw me off, and had to reset the dancer fight a few two times since I messed it up). But I leveled my character up quite a bit and went for Pestilent Mist since it's a percentage of damage. After a few tries I finally did the cheese and got him stuck. Though, since I died to him a few times I didn't beat the Demon Souls time, however it show's it's possible to beat it with less time (even with a few mistakes)
Man that is impressive! I'll have to redo this sometime soon -- I was talking to someone about this and apparently the Thief is also insane for this with all the Bleed Procs you can do. I haven't tried any of these strats yet but I'll have to make the time for it since it seems cool. Also thank you for the Oceiros tip, I didn't actually know that!
You should do a Speedrun in each souls game to meet patches

If you include exploits/glitches, you could rush to undead parish, do the Sen’s gate skip, use the lightning spear+ Iron Tarkus to handle the golem, and use the crystal halberd from the mimic in anor londo to handle O+S, and proceed to Seath from there.
It wouldn’t put DS1 in first place but it would cut down on a bunch of time. You’d also need to do the second half of the game way, way underleveled.
Just do a soul doup to level up
I didn't think of doing glitches but maybe I'll try that sometime!! It would easily be less than 1 hour
If you're glitching there's a fall control skip to enter Dukes Archive without the Lordvessel. You could glitch your way to it in 30 mins with optimisation honestly.
Oh and doing the elevator skip to bypass the 1st encounter with Seath and head for the crystal cave
Moonlight is one of my favorite weapons and for DS3, i have a dumb strat for Dancer and big dragon man. I then get a bandit knife from greirat and abuse the bleed along a 100% phys shield
I never tried the Bandit Knife on Dancer but I did see a lot of other people try that too and now I'm super tempted to do it sometime soon
@@fermyonds for the dancer, two handing it does well, then if you use it for Ocieros, i use a 100% phys shield so i can block his sudden dash attack

Honestly looking back on it I could've done it soo much faster too!! Would prolly be possible to complete Ranni's quest in 2-3 hrs if you're very efficient

Definitely Demon's Souls is the fastest. You have to go through 2.5 zones max. Valley of defilement is difficult but you can just go straight there. Also you can get a seal from the merchant in 5-1 and the regeneration ring in 5-2.
Oh you're right I forgot about the old lady who sells that seal! Either way, I am confident this could prolly be done in half an hour or maybe even less if you're quick enough! It's nuts
To think that getting the moonlight greatsword in Bloodborne could be actually easier using this as a guiding is kinda shameful that there isn't that many good guides for early game

I think these videos would be a lot more engaging if in the intro and at the start of each section you didn't show yourself getting the weapon. That kinda spoils the reveal and makes it less fun and interesting to watch, even if you realistically know how to get the item anyway. That's one thing I think could make these videos a bit better. Other than that this is a really fun format and I hope to see more of it

You certainly took your sweet ass time getting the moonlight greatsword in elden ring. Wing of Astel only took me like 2 hours with Radahn as my first boss, and passing through Nokstella for mimic tear as sorcerer. There was massive room for improvement there
Looking back I really should've done more runs for ER especially to get a better time. That was a mistake on my end -- I apologize
@@fermyonds Eh you'll get more refined as you do more videos. Don't stress about every run being optimal when you could be making more content with decent attempts.

5:10 its not so much completely abandoned. It was never meant to show up in any other games. Dark souls was supposed to be just one game with no sequels but it was so popular they made ds2 and then that was so hated them made ds3 to "fix" things. But like humanity, certain mechanics were never meant to be used again.
I actually never knew that DS1 was supposed to be a ''one and done'' (so glad they ended up making a trilogy out of it) -- this is certainly good information to know, so thank you for sharing it!
to be completely honest you don't need any of those things for Valley of Defilement to get the sword, just a bow and fire resin from 1-1 to kill Leech. I know I didn't need to be *this* prepared in Demon's Souls ps3.

I have made it my mission this year to use all the versions of the moonlight greatsword. So far I have used it Elden Ring and Dark Souls. Return to Drangleic starts soon and have constructed a build that uses it so that will be another game. As for bloodborne i don't own a ps4 and with no pc port in sight I will have to pass on that. Lastly during return to lothric, I have also concocted a build to use it and thus I will have completed my journey. So far, I believe the Elden Ring version is the strongest version so far as I have a build that uses, and it destroys bosses as I have helped many hosts with it.

Its gonna be great :) I really hope we get a Bloodborne PC port sometime soon, I'd absolutely love to play it on pc -- that said, yeah the Elden Ring version is just so so good, I'm not entirely sure if it is the strongest but it just feels nice to play with it there

Is dark souls 3 theoretically the fastest if you just got really good at dancer and oceiros and first tried them with starting or next to starting gear
Of all the runs I did, I think DS3 and ER could be improved the most (maybe DeS too if you go straight to the Valley of Defilement) -- that said I suck at DS3 more than the rest of the games, but I'll get better x) I've seen some good strats involving the Bandit Knife actually so I'll try that!

I was thinking of making a joke with that (essentially, getting the Blue Moon GS, then saying its done, gameplay fades to Bloodborne and I'm continuing as if that was the real GS, then que Meginord's line, or whichever NPC says that its a fake, I forgot; and then the video would cut back to DS2 and then the run for the real MLGS begins) but I wasn't sure if it'd come off well.. looking back on it, I regret not doing that

For many people (myself included), Phase 2 Smough is easier than Phase 2 Ornstein. I feel like its really easy to bait out his butt slam attack which leaves him open for a while

I think I could do dark souls 3 sub 1 hour but I also think demon souls is the fastest

Wtf do you mean, it makes since, the term names demon souls dark souls and bloodborne, you mad it doesn't say elden ring or sekiro? It was made before those games dropped and it was understandable by all players

@@grimm3995 it's a miserable attempt to try to equate the legitimacy of Bloodborne to Dark Souls as if it's on the same level. It's ridiculous to me. But I don't usually share the popular opinion of the masses. Both Demon Souls and Bloodborne, hell even Sekiro they all don't live up to the greatness of the true souls games. I personally think ER does but I still wouldn't want to make a hybrid name.
This weapon shows the real souls games, not garbage like Sekiro...

@@iuliuslovin37 Sometimes when you are telling a more direct story you have to choose who its about. Sekiro is a story about Sekiro. Not you, or your not self your insert.
The rest of the soulsborne games are stories about the Chosen Undead/Bearer of the Curse etc, so it could be about anyone. And given that its about anyone, you get to play as anyone.
Character customisation just does not make as much sense for the story and wold that Sekiro is trying to tell compared to the other games.
