Which Soulsborne Protagonist Gets 'The Claymore' First?

- There are many iconic creations that are tied to FROMSOFTWARE -- The Moonlight Greatsword, Patches, Poison Swamps are just a few that anyone can name off the top of their head -- but to me, one that's more basic that always stood out was, the Claymore. I love this weapon and it has carried me from DS1 all the way to Elden Ring, and so I thought I'd check out how fast could I technically acquire this weapon, should I ever try to make a new playthrough utilising this sword.
DEFINITELY using it for the Shadow of the Erdtree, though!

Dark Souls 3 / Elden Ring: "Here's the weapon you love! Have fun!"
Bloodborne: "in my day if we wanted a Claymore we had to play through an entire DLC! Uphill! both ways!"
This made me laugh way too much. Admittedly I've opened up to the idea of Ludwig's Holy Blade being the "spiritual successor of the Claymore", so that could've been infinitely faster, but still -- its insane how quickly you get it in ER/DS3
“Ah, you were by my side all along. My true mentor. My guiding claymore”
We are born of the Claymore, made men by the Claymore, undone by the Claymore. Fear the old Claymore
Its actually faster to skip through Oscars dialogue than to kill him. Its a matter of seconds but still.
I always assumed killing would've been quicker but I learnt something new -- thank you!!
I had always heard it was a tie?
Why would you kill Oscar? Rude lol

It's a beast in Demons, but the trade off is you'll be killing rock worms forever to upgrade it
You can cheese Dragonrider for around 14k souls with armor, plus 6k with his soul. I'm 100% sure someone has mentioned it before
Yes, a few others have made comments about it, but I very much appreciate the time you took to write it out. Thank you sincerely!!
Also, yes -- I will use that strategy next time x)
Exactly, cheese dragonrider, buy the fragrant branch from the hag in Forest of Fallen Giants, run through Shaded Woods, talk to Vengarl and buy the Claymore.
I think that this might beat DS1 by a few minutes, as the route is quite fast, actually. Tseldora set -> Last giant for the key -> cheese Pursuer -> buy branch -> run past everything to buy stuff.
@@oresthopiak8609 you don’t need to kill Last Giant to fight Pursuer, there’s a platform just next to the second bonfire’s shortcut where you can fight him early, and he actually drops more souls if you fight him early too so you might not even need to kill the merchant.
@@Slender_Man_186and if you pull off a specific jump you can force him to spawn in, rest at the bonfire, and make him fall to his death, instantly killing him far faster than fighting him could.
I love that the Claymore has a strictly dedicated community to it. It's not every weapon that gets a fanbase, after all.
Regarding the runs, you can probably get the Claymore in DS1 even faster than in DS3.
Run Bandit or Master Key, blast through Valley of Drakes into Undead Parish, dodge the pig, into the tower and up onto the bridge. Bonus: The Drake doesnt even spawn on the bridge if you run through it this way.
Tried doing this myself testing both routes, going through undead burg vs master key and undead burg is actually much faster. I got a time of 5:46 with that route, using black firebombs for asylum demon, also using the new taurus suicide speedrun strat to basically kill him instantly (though I can't get it consistently) and I also died to the hollows once in the burg. For valley of drakes I got a 8:02 using quitouts to reset rats aggro (which is kinda cheating)
First of all, yes! Claymore deserves all the love it gets. Secondly, thank you for that DS1 strat!! I'll be using it next time I do something similar to this :)
@@calvin8464 I never even considered skips or glitches, so yeah I'm pretty sure DS1 Claymore is the fastest you can get one. If you TAS'd it, you could probably get it in like 3/4 minutes with perfect play.
But yeah, I have to agree, my way is only faster if you fight through Undead Burg/Taurus Demon/Hellkite Drake the way the game intended.
@@heartnet40 nah ds3 still has the fastest time you have to go through asylum and undead burg not to mention the dragon which is rng based wether he feels like screwing you over , in ds3 kill gundyr get to firelink in like two minutes and get to the dragon bridge in lothric ( the dragon gives you time before it breathes fire and doesnt one shot you ) so yeah ds3 still has the fastest run
It'd be harder to deal with the rats and that spear/shield hollow using suboptimal weapon than killing Taurus demon
Good old claymore, nothing beats that
Seriously, I absolutely love all the cool stuff in ER but I find myself going back to something as simple as a Claymore often

You can't imagine how badly I wanted to get flamberge in DS3, but after 30mins of farming I just gave up. At least Elden Ring has it in a quite a simple to get place.
@@oresthopiak8609 oh I saw the drop rate and went "nah I'm happy doing this Estoc run" and got a Flamberge the first goblin I merc'd

@@concerninghobbits5536 it's so slick and comfy, I love it
4:38 You don't have to do all of that to get a branch from Melentia. You can perform "Baby Jump" to get the branch early. For example Ymfah performs it in his video "Top Gear - Dark Souls 2 Special" at 2:16. That way you can skip farming for 12K for Melentia, however you need enough HP to survive the jump.
Earlier today I was reading a comment elsewhere saying this exact same thing too -- I felt so stupid for forgetting about that jump! I'll utilise it next time since it's insane how much it speeds things up
"baby jump" is a glitch exclusive to ds2 where the game eats up your momentum and stops you from making regular jumps, not the name of the jump Ymfah does in the video.
Or you can quickly kill dragonrider by 6 step strategy for fast souls
@@youdied- or drop kill the pursuer, waaay faster
if u preform "baby jumps" you die -your a bit confused if not alot confused
In ds2, you can do a certain jump near melentia the hag to get a free branch. You will need a good amount of health to do it, but choosing the knight class plus life ring, then going to the depresso guy in Majula and get his ring can get just enough. Takes alot less time than farming the souls.
I'll be doing this and the Dragonrider cheese next time around! Thank you for letting me know btw!!
Sir Alonne's theme at background going so good
Its one of my favourite soundtracks from the entire trilogy. It's so good
i came here to say how much i love the witcher soundtrack@@fermyonds
You could have probably gotten DS1's faster if you picked the black firebombs for your starting gift. You don't need the master key at all to get to the claymore, and killing the Asylum Demon with your firebombs is way faster than going through the asylum.
Don't you still need to go through the asylum to get the key from Oscar to leave though?
You're right that the FireBombs would've finished the Asylum Demon infinitely faster -- I'm so used to tunnel visioning the Master Key that I forgot about that, but I'll consider it more next time -- that said, I saw earlier today someone mention in the comments a possible route towards the Valley of the Drakes possibly being faster, so I will try that out sometime soon as well
@@fermyonds Take the bandit class, which starts with the master key
Why not both? Key and black firebombs wombo combo
While an extremely rare drop, it’s possible to get the Claymore even earlier in Demon’s Souls from the Blue Eyed Knight in 1-1 that has one.
I had no idea about that until very recently! Never seen that drop for me, but it's certainly good to know
@@fermyonds again, it’s a ridiculously low drop rate. So rare that you only really see it with high luck and drop rate buffs. Not worth the effort in a realistic sense though. So while technically possible, it’s not recommended to rely on this guy to drop it as the means to get it early.
The reason the Drake didn't attack you in DS1 is because its AI changes after you kick down the Undead Burg shortcut. It's way more passive before that, only attacking when you get up to roughly where the Claymore is.
I had no idea about this!! Thank you for the little lesson, I sincerely appreciate it
I also had no idea about this! His AI gives a very small amount of time between grabbing the claymore and him killing you. I bet you could quit out if you were really fast, and save the death animation :)
@@CharlotteMimic Oh for sure. I've even seen one or two people get past the drake entirely before changing the AI, although I can't give any proof as it's been a while

I used the claymore for most of my ER playthrough without knowing the community behind it. And I have to say that after discovering the community and its love for it, I can definitely understand why. It's just the perfect basic melee weapon for those who don't care for any bells or whistles and just want to smack a boss hard and at moderate speed. It's like a comfort weapon of sorts. In ER in particular, its ability to virtually use any and all Ashes of War really exemplifies its versatility thanks to its 'basicness'. It's just the perfect weapon to main without worry.
Needless to say the claymore has become my baemore.
One of us! One of us! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love flashy weapons as well (usually my first playthrough of any souls involves either a Greatsword or a Claymore, but for Elden Ring I discarded those for the Starscourge swords due to the awesome AoW), but sometimes I just enjoy using a regular sword, and damn it is fun
Love goofy challenges like this. Keep it up!
I'm happy to hear that -- I still have plenty more things to be silly with, it's genuinely fun tbh x)
Has to be between ds3 and er, but I’m giving er the advantage because you can get it without having to beat any bosses, or having the usual dragon burning a bridge
Honestly yes, Elden Ring's is by far the most relaxing. I wasn't even paying attention half the time (the only dangerous part was the ballista as you're entering the Weeping Peninsula)
the only issue is the long trek without torrent and getting torrent isn't any faster.
maybe moonlight greatsword speedrun but I know for sure it will be longer
I've already started working on the Moonlight Greatsword video! Granted, gonna take a while, but I am super excited to do it
@@fermyonds to be fair... you already did the bloodborne section of that run in this video lmao
Personally I'd consider the Ludwig holy sword to be the claymore of Bloodborne over the holy moonlight sword. Sure untransformed it uses a straight sword moveset, but in its greatsword form it is pretty much the ol' reliable we all know and love
I've seen this perspective as well and I can absolutely agree with this too -- I think the neat part about Bloodborne's trick weapons is that it's essentially two in one -- hence why we're having this discussion in the first place; but I think both the Holy Blade and the Moonlight Sword can count as the claymore, if that makes sense
That’s more of a miniature ultra. Ludwig’s blade literally has a 1-1 moveset and nearly holding stance.
A Claymore is the Claymore, there are no substitutes.
Maybe both weapons are:
Transformed Holy Blade+untrasformed Moonlight = bloodborne Claymore
This is a fun idea for a video, I enjoyed this
I'm seriously glad to hear that! Currently working on a Moonlight GS one and I intend to have it be much better (in editing & gameplay/routes) than what I came up with here
Not bad, I’ll watch for that one. Do more that’s similar with comparing but don’t always have to stick with weapons, maybe armour and spells. Or less well known weapons etc. katanas, dragon weapons, great shields.
Specific ways for role play, like fastest way to be a knight or paladin from scratch.
I have a couple ideas as well besides just weapons -- there's one in particular that I think will be fun, but I don't want to spoil it just yet. That said, thank you sincerely for not only your views, but also for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it tremendously
a new souls content format i havent seen before, i dig it
There's honestly so many ways to have fun with souls, I feel like even in the next few years people are gonna be coming up with new stuff!
I really like your accent. The video you made is good, and I thought the last few sentences you said in it were heartwarming.
Thank you very much for this, I appreciate every single nice thing you've said.
As for the closing words, honestly, if someone watches till that point, I might as well say something good to them -- Thank you again, I genuinely appreciate it
The claymore and the zweihander. Two weapons that I know will take me through any playthrough
They never disappoint -- honestly in pretty much every FS game, they've been a reliable pick for me
Really like this video format would like to see another vid about moonlight great sword
I started working on it already! No promises but I aim to have it up by the end of next week
Amazing video! Easily my favourite weapon as well.
Thank you for your nice words!! I'm always happy to see another claymore-bro out in the wild :)
I’m more a bastard sword guy, but I always upgrade my claymores as a heavier back up, ill get two different ones; one’ll be a +10, the other will be a +10 Fire, or poison, magic, etc… (usually fire or magic for me). We need more videos on Bastard Swords, too!
Yeah honestly I love infusions -- so many neat builds you can end up doing -- as for the Bastard Swords, yes sir!! I'll find a way to talk about them as well at some point
What makes the Bastard Sword special/interesting? Most iterations of it across the series have a similar moveset, it's shorter than the Claymore, and some times has lower damage. It's otherwise the same as the Claymore but lacks the thrust attack. Does the lower weight and lower stat requirements make up for it? Is there something else I'm missing?
I prefer it cuz its a bit more realistic. I want to love two handed swords, but the animators don't seem to understand that a zweihander doesn't weigh 60 kilos... so dumb that my 40 strength character isn't swinging that thing like a pixie stick.
Dark Souls seems to not understand heavy weapons in general. @@Ashlevon
@@jessegauthier6985 I feel you there, every day I pray their next Souls-style game has improved Greatsword animations, at the very least they need to make the majority of them (especially the Claymore!) use the 2-handed "sexy" moveset (hollow slayer Greatsword for example) instead of slamming the blade into the ground.
So for DS1 its actually faster to just start as thief and go through valley of drakes, darkroot garden, then parish to get to the dragon bridge. Tried that and got it in under 8 minutes on first attempt, but could definitely be optimized to get there quicker. Good vid, got me to boot it up and play again 👍

Oh hello! I usually post on Reddit the things I end up posting on CZcams (usually just an image) Sorry it got in your recommended, I hope that's okay? x) Still, nice to see someone from the same subreddit I use!!
My plan for the DLC is to go in there with literally nothing and forage for equipment. If there is no pick-up weapons between the start and the first boss, I will allow myself some average straightsword and pray that the enemies drop weapons
Oh so you're playing it as if it was a roguelike, I see :D that's a good strategy tho, I'm sadly not gud enough for that, but I'll improve!!
I dont really do crazy runs, or take up obscure challenges.... But watching you run the all of Soulsborne has me wondering how much time ive put into these games.
Don't get me wrong, most of the time I just play the game normally too -- I simply wanted to do something I deemed fun x) and honestly I really don't wanna add up all the time I spent on these games... the thought scares me, lol
What a fun little idea for a video.
I hope you enjoyed it!!
Something I like about the Claymore in every souls game is that no matter what your build is it will always be good
I know right? Works well for str, dex, quality, heck, back in DS1 I had a pyromancer build using a raw claymore and it was fun!
Sick vid but i don’t understand abt ds2 cant you just cheese the dragon rider which would take quarter of the time of farming the cyclops
Oh yes I'll admit I didn't think of that. Meanwhile, I've seen a comment elsewhere that there's a way to do it even faster, so I'll have to retry this sometime soon it seems! I don't know but it's a lot of fun x) genuinely
There’s also a branch you can get by making a jump in the fortress completely making the 12k unnecessary
And you’ll get 4k from the walk over
And if you don’t feel like making the jump you can just kill the pursuer nearby for the souls
@@Dat_Scrub problem with that jump is that you need alot of health and even with dragonrider you would need bonfire aesetic for the recommended amount of health

For Elden Ring; you don't have to go to the Gatefront Ruins to get Torrent; if you go straight towards the weeping peninsula right away, the second site of grace you find (the one at the base of the hill with the Forlorn Hound Evergoal) can also spawn Melina to get Torrent. Yeah, when I first played Dark Souls 3, the Claymore was my go-to weapon, between its easy requirements and adaptability. It was a great starter-weapon, and when you're running new content for the first time, that's probably a good choice for a weapon.
I wish I had known how good the Claymore was when I started DS3 (it was my first soulsborne I finished) - I'm certain my experience would have been even better!

Thank you, genuinely! I do aim to make anything new even better (especially in the sense of doing more optimal runs)
There's a glitch used in dark souls 2 speedruns that need that fragrant branch called the 17k glitch, but I suppose we go past wanting the claymore early into claymore% as a meme category at that point.
I've never heard about that Glitch but I will look into it soon out of curiosity! That said I should've done the Dragonrider cheese as it would have been infinitely faster x)
DS1 and DS3. You might die to fire breathing dragons, but you will get the claymore.
I mean, it's pretty cool getting a sword after surviving a dragon attack! Certainly a memorable experience
to each their own i guess... for me the one and only, my soulmate, is the trusty greatsword. once you master that length, that weight, and that slow windup, it will not betray you, it will push through all that stand before you and crush every obstacles.
Yes sir!! I've used the Greatsword from start to finish in the DS trilogy and ER, and it is one of my all time favourites. Granted, a lot of it was because I wanted to do a Guts cosplay, I still enjoyed it a bunch
You should really try doing this with the actual moonlight for every game so that you can both lower your bloodborne time and have a fair fight

@@fermyonds the truest, most important weapon.

It really is such an excellent weapon. Claymore made me fall in love with the whole "quality build" archetype
starting with black firebombs in ds1 and prethrowing the first one to where asylum demon will land, then killing him with the rest of them actually saves more time. if you start with the thief class you get the master key anyway
You're right -- and it's what I should've done -- working on something similar to this but with the Moonlight Greatsword in mind, and I did just this x) was so good
@@fermyonds yeah its super fast and pretty fun haha. classic ds1 speedrunner trick
My first playthrough of these games is always with the trusty old longsword. Easy enough as you can start with it. I usually pick up the claymore for a heavier variant, but the longsword is something simple and effective I will always fall back to. I also like the idea of beating these games with the most basic of weapons.
I completely relate to you in that last sentence. It just feels satisfying overcoming all odds with just a regular plain sword. Whether it be a claymore, a longsword, a broadsword, a bastard sword, I love them all and I'll gladly use them when given the chance
Also I love your elec-man avatar x)
I think a fun 1 would be the great scythe it can be found pretty early in most of the games.
I'll end up doing that at some point! Right now I am working on the Moonlight GS runs, 5/6 are finsihed so far!
the claymore is the weapon that fits the souls aesthetic the most imo
I agree -- I love having it on cosplay builds as well!!
FERMYON TO THE TOP ! new fan here
Heyy, thank you for the comment -- I'll try my best to keep making videos like this with FromSoftware's games x)
In Dark Souls 3 the Claymore is even an enemy drop. The enemies in irithyll that hold the Claymore can indeed drop it.
I don't think I've ever seen one drop that for me, though admittedly I never farmed for that. I learnt something new today, so, thank you!
You could do a moonlight greatsword variant of this run next, maybe you could also include armoured core 6 since it exists there too
I'm working on a Moonlight Greatsword version as we speak! Already did DS3 since that's what I'm most comfortable with -- I'll prolly include AC6 too, depends on how much time I'll have but I'll try!!
ds1. if you get the masterkey as a starting gift, you can go down to new londo, past the valley of drakes, up into darkroot, say hi to andre, backtrack past the church and down the ladder to the right. under the bridge and take the stairs up... this bypasses the red helkite drake trigger zone and they wont show up on the bridge at all.
Yes sir!! I should've definitely done that instead as this could have saved a few mins but next time around I'll be using this strat. Currently working on a Moonlight Greatsword run and this is what I ended up doing (although for different reasons)
@@fermyonds alternate route... if you're lucky and get the black knight halberd, might be quicker to just head up darkroot past the hydra into havel's tower and fight taurus before the bridge as you would normally. idk if going all the way up the garden then backtracking or just a quick taurus is faster. either way, the grass crest shield is a must.
I think as far as Claymores go, Ludwig's Holy Blade would fall more in line, not just the moveset but also the ease of acquiring it and the fact that it is a quality weapon.
And you'd be right -- I've seen this pop up often and I started reconsidering my position on it. I should have went with the LHB x)
Could you possibly do a speed run like this but it's how fast you can get the moonlight sword first?
Did one for the Moonlight GS as well! Its the most recent upload
You could make the dragon ridder fall off his plataform twice with the bonfire aesthetic you get as a gift. Then consume both of his souls to get a lot of souls way more quickly than grinding.
I forgot about the Dragonrider Cheese but I will be doing that next time around!!
I see a lot of people mentioning the dragonrider cheese for the souls but I saw a different strategy. Im not sure if you do glitches in these runs but if u do you could have done the pursuer cheese right next to the merchant at the arena and you would get all the souls you need (17k) and it would probably be faster than going through all of heides. Great video btw!
I've ended up starting something similar to this but with the Moonlight GS in mind -- did the dragonrider, forgot about cheesing the Pursuer (just did him normally).. I feel so stupid now, ugh x)) I might end up doing a new run to see how it goes! Either way I'm still working on it so its no biggie. That said, thank you for your nice words!

Meme runs are the best runs!
i also tried to get the moonligth sword for a BB run, it was really hard to beat ludwig at level 65 but it was an achievement i am proud of, the worst thing was i needed 4 levels in arcane to use the sword after that, it was a really fun run with that sword

DS2 in the Forest of Fallen Giants, if your character has at least 1,000 hp you can jump over to get the branch that is behind the King’s Gate. It’s free and the knight starting class gets you pretty close to that. Life Ring, Blue Seal ring, and a few levels and you’ll have it. Way cheaper and faster than buying from Malentia.
I didn't even realize that jump was a thing to be honest! Rn I'm working on a Moonlight GS run and I tried doing the jump although it is difficult due to a skill issue on my end (I'll learn doin it properly at some point) but regardless, even there I didn't get the branch from Melentia B) found some other pretty quick ways for it!
Zweihander or Moonlight Greatsword next?
I was very excited to see how quickly you could get the claymore in DSII because it’s my favourite game of all time and was surprised that you farmed souls instead of killing Dragonrider (I won’t explain the strategy as many others already have). I decided to give it a go myself and managed a time of 9 minutes and 14 seconds. Can’t wait to see if you can beat it.
I'm really sorry I forgot about the Dragonrider Cheese, but I will do that the next time I'm doing something in this format. I'll try to beat your time, no promises tho!! That's genuinely very good
@@fermyonds Thank you.
@@fermyondsI sent a message previously linking to a video I made about getting the claymore as quickly as possible in DSII, but it would appear it got deleted, so I’ll just say my channel name is Kavak Luna if you want to see it. I credited you.
It's actually NOT faster to kill Oscar than listen to him, fun fact. It's several seconds slower actually.
I was so surprised to find this out but I'm genuinely glad to know it now!
For DS2, it’s faster to beat last giant, pursuer, take the hawk to Bastille, and grab fragrant branch from the chest with the mini pursuer. You will also have more than enough souls to purchase the claymore.
Technically you could go to Dead Man’s Wharf and grab the fragrant branch there, but that would involve having to go through Dead Man’s Wharf
You're correct -- there's also the Dragon Rider cheese I should have done, but next time I'll do a diff. strat and have a better time, for whatever I may end up ''speedrunning'' -- Thanks for the comment though!!
I feel like it's probably a bit faster to beat the last giant and pop it's soul than farm the ogre
Yes sir -- the Dragonrider Cheese is even faster and I will be utilising that in the next one!
Ah yes, the humble Claymore, big enough to make sure Varre doesn't question your potency, but not so big Melina starts thinking you're insecure.
Also just a solid weapon all-round and I love it
I couldn't have said it better myself. You're spot on!
If you want to do the Bloodborne one quicker, what I recommend is abusing chalice dungeons. There is a wrong warp/skipping glitch with them, that after the first two dungeons, you can enter a code to go immediately to a high level dungeon instead. Which not only grant you a ludicrous amount of echoes, but also good gems too. It is by far the fastest way to level up.
I was thinking of doing this, but I wasn't sure if glitches would be fine or not -- still, I'll prolly do it whenever I'm making another character for fun x)) thanks for letting me know about this btw! I didn't know this was a thing
Fun Fact, the first time I played DS3, I didn't loot the items guarded by the dragon until I was almost done with the game, so I had to play through most of it without my beautiful Claymore
At least you could have fun with it in NG+! Claymore's always a good experience at the end of the day :)
The funny thing is, if you were to do this again with a different item the guaranteed choice the Moonlight Blade, so you'll get a chance to redeem yourself with Ludwig soon
Already started working on the Moonlight GS runs! I can confidently say I was happy with the time I got for Bloodborne this time
I have no idea why I was randomly thinking about this video. Maybe with DS2 you can
Tseldora Set -> Make Dragonrider fall off platform -> Run to Forest and get Branch
I don't know exactly how much Souls you get from Dragonrider but wiki says 12,000 and with the Teldora Set I think it's like 3,000 bonus Souls since iirc it's 25%? You can maybe spam Soul arrow start on an Ogre for extra Souls if you need? Idk just randomly thought of this
Ohhh it's living rent free on your head -- that's good, very good. Just joking, sorry x)
In all seriousness, yes, you're correct -- at the time I completely forgot I could've simply done that and it'd have been faster by like 10+ minutes. It's fun to look back on it, though x)
I believe in DS2 it would be faster to kill Maughlin for the tseldora set, but then go cheese the Heide Dragonrider to get quick easy souls to cut down on farming. If fextralife is to be believed, he gives 12000 without the set on NG, and the full set multiplies soul gain by 22.5%, increasing this to 14700, meaning you'd only need to gain 1900 (not counting any you'd get from Maughlin) on the way to Malentia and then Vengarl, a pretty easy task especially with the full tseldora set.
Edit: I just tried my route, with a couple changes/additions. I started as swordsman as they have the highest starting endurance for running everywhere. I took a bonfire ascetic as my starting gift and just cheesed dragonrider twice for more than enough souls, so no extra farming needed. I then ran to Malentia for the fragrant branch. I warped back to Majula from the bonfire after the dragonrider to then run to Vengarl to buy the Claymore. My final time was 14 minutes and 53 seconds, almost 10 minutes faster than your time! Although this was all pointless, it still isn't faster than the time you got for DS1, meaning it'd stay in the same place on the list lmao
Edit 2: would probably be way faster to just use the dragonrider soul instead of cheesing a second time, would cut off about a minute, I am stupid lmao
Honestly I've come to realize there are sooo many better routes I could've done for pretty much all of these! That said, currently working on a Moonlight GS themed run instead, and for that I've made sure to have it be as optimized as possible (or rather as much as I can afford it to be, I have skill issues lol) -- I'm so far the happiest with Bloodborne's time (massive improvement over the 9 hrs spent initially!)
That said, thank you very much for your runs too!! It's always a pleasure seeing others do these silly runs for fun. Thanks again, genuinely, and I'll do it quicker next time!!
Doing a run like this for the Moonlight Greatsword would be cool. It would also be an excuse to get a better time on Ludwig.
Already started it, and I'll try my best to get a sub 2hour run for Bloodborne (at the very least)
@@fermyonds best of luck!
My beloved...
Our beloved! :D
my number 1 option in any souls game. I love this sword
Me too! I never had a bad time whenever I was using the Baemore. So so good
I think it may be faster in dark souls to just run directly to the claymore.
Start as thief or with master key, after the asylum, go down through new londo to valley of drakes, through drakes to darkroot basin, up through the basin and over to andre, backwards through the parish, drop down into the area under the bridge and then up the stairs to the claymore. Its a lot of running, but theres no time wasted on taurus demon.
You're correct and that's what I should have done! Honestly this first round of runs was so unoptimized for a lot of them, its kinda funny for me to look back
Started just doing the Thief + Bomb strat right after
When you got to elden ring i said out loud "i feel like it takes like, 10ish minutes," can you tell its my weapon of choice
Calling you Claymore master from now on x)
If I recall, there is also a merchant selling a claymore on the weeping peninsula as well in a shack by a beach, so if quantity of Claymores was also a factor then ER would be probably the fastest for getting 2, but that's just nitpicking and not the point of the video or challenge, but it's still something funny I thought of.
Ooo that sounds fun! Powerstanced Claymore competition
You may be able to do DS3's slightly faster as a pyromancer start or by taking black firebombs as a burial gift since Gundyr is weak to fire and the flame hand starts with combustion as a weapon art which comes out really quick and does respectable damage.
I honestly should've done so many things differently, could've made all of the runs more optimal -- my apologies on that
@@fermyonds No apology needed, was just a suggestion. The rankings would likely be the same even using different tricks, it's just fun to theorise how to do it even faster. It was a good video.
Thank you, sincerely -- still, with the next one, all of the runs are gonna be more optimized!! I promise x)
i only saw the shittydarksouls post i didnt knew it was a video buts its very good well done lol
I didn't want to link the video beneath the post since I wasn't sure if it was OK with the subreddit rules -- but well, hello there! Thank you for your nice words as well by the way -- I promise I'll one-up myself with the next video I'll make
This looked fun so I gave it a quick go in DS3, got a 2:28 using Thief start, door quitouts, and the little wall jump. Can probably get 2:23 with a good Gundyr, definitely the fastest game.
Hey that's an insanely good run, gz! Over time I've realized that I maybe should've done multiple runs in each title to see how far I could really push it, which is something I'll try to do next time around -- I'm certain I could've maybe gotten a sub 4 in DS3 at the very least
I just rushed the moonlight greatsword and I'm sad to say it probably did take close to 9 hours. I gave up and asked for coop help but before I got a response I noticed you can summon an NPC and somehow he managed to live long enough to pull aggro and let me get close to the end, then finish off the fight somehow not getting smashed
I've managed to do it again and this time much, much faster -- I'll have a video on an all Moonlight GS run sometime at the end of this week, hopefully
@@fermyonds that's awesome! I'm trying to do runs in every game and started with bloodborne and ds3, both games I had to grind a few levels and watch some guides for dancer and Ludwig, and then I straight up cheesed the hell out of Oceiros after a few tries
I had the most trouble with the dancer since I'm really not used to fighting her at a lower level. She was tough!
you can get a fragrant branch without souls if you do a saucy jump
I'll be doing that next time around! I genuinely forgot about the jump from the Cardinal Tower
Baemore, my beloved
''You were at my side, all along''
Do the moonlight great sword next!!!
Already started working on it! 2/6 runs are completed too
