Wow, I am so impressed with how far you will go Dennis to review these products. I love this series and have ordered and recieved some of the products you have reviewed already. Looking forward to the next one.
I like your tool-review-videos, especially, because you're always looking for the dimensional stability and the precision of the tools
I think you’re really on to something there.
Not many channels do these type of reviews/comparisons.
Excellent!
This is an amazing review. This series is perfect, I always hoped that someone would send time reviewing these products. China is making some amazing stuff lately.
Just discovered your channel and I really appreciate your objectivity and honesty testing the different tools you are presenting. The method is giving a lot of trust to the results you are sharing, really impressed with this. Absolutely great job!
A subscription I am sure, I will not regret ;)
Thank you for these videos. I appreciate you taking the time to review these tools.
Just love the way you explain things. Great as always, thank you! DIN squares pretty nice indeed.
Thank you for your time.invested in testing and explaining your findings.
Great reviews. Well presented and easy to understand the ‘how to’ explanations. It’s good to see these comparisons as I have been looking to buy some tools like this.
Brilliant and in depth review on such a simple yet important tool in the workshop. Loved your honest comparisons between the Banggood tools vs the Incra tools. Really shows how expensive tools are not necessarily the best.
Again a detailed and in-depth review, loving it.
Keep going 😉
Thank you for the time you dedicate in making this super useful analysis...Gretings from Italy.
Very thorough reviews. Excellent!
Thank you very much for the great and thorough reviews. Your reviews eliminate the guesswork and give me the confidence that I am not wasting my hard earned money when ordering these Chinese imported measuring tools.
Thank you for verifying the accuracy of the machinist squares and explaining the rating system.. Now I know what I need and what is not going to be a good purchase ! Thank you ! I'm subscribed !
I want to thank you very much, and I can't beleive I didn't stomp on thsi channel earlier.I needed a decent square but din't have money for the Woodpecker, Incra. I subscribed watched a bunch of your videos. Greetings
I am really enjoying this series, even for the products I won't buy. I find your in depth approach and honest reactions to comments makes very interesting viewing.
Thanks again Dennis very in depth reviews and very helpfu to know what to buy
Although I'm a year late in viewing this, it is another great video, thank you Dennis and i wish you and your family a safe and happy Christmas.
Thank you once again for a great review. I had been looking at both engineering squares you reviewed in the video, I will definitely purchase them after watching this review.👍
Fantastic! I love your reviews. Keep em coming!
Gozert, weer een prima filmpje! Na het zien van deze serie durf ik eindelijk gereedschap in China te bestellen! Mijn dank is groot
clear and concise explanations, keep up the great work
Hello, I just recently found your channel and I love the honest, candid reviews! Woodworking is a hobby for me and I'm by no means a professional, I'm always looking for inexpensive yet quality tools for my shop. I truly appreciate the time you spend helping people just like me! A true testament to your following... I just went to purchase a few of the items and they are all out of stock! LOL. Thanks again for all you do.
I would like to see reviews on the following:
1) Drillpro CX300-1 Adjustable 30cm Stainless Steel 45/90 Degree
2) 120 Degree Adjustable Quick Grip Clamp Woodworking F Clamp 80x 100/160/200/250/300mm - 90-300mm (never enough clamps!!!)
3) Digital LCD Wood Moisture Temperature Meter
Your costing me a ton of money, but saving me even more :-) Thanks for doing these reviews and I know where to check to find quality inexpensive woodworking tools.
Came to find low cost tools. Stayed for the second to none quality of reviews. Subbed, binging.
Thanks for more great reviews. I totally agree that we rarely need thousands of an inch or mm accuracy, but being a retired engineer I still strive for perfection and if we allow a few thousands off in several areas, pretty soon our inaccuracy begins to show or create alignment issues. I appreciate your desire for perfection! Keep making videos, they help me know where to invest my limited retirement funds!
Nice video I enjoy your reviews and have bought a couple of the tools and have been impressed. Thanks for your work.
Thank you very much! Invaluable info!
"It is only a stamp" Bravo!
Superb review ... so superb that nothing is available anymore on BG ;) It shall come, Bedankt !
Hi, a great video again very helpful , I have been looking at these products , thinking they could not be that good , but you have made my mind up. I will order them.
Thanks again
Thanks for saving me time and money by reviewing these products. I have bought a lot of stuff from China and most of it is excellent for the price, but it is hard to tell until it arrives. Price is no indicator of quality - I have bough £10 verniers that were superb, and bought some that went straight in the bin unused.
I'm incredibly impressed by the DIN normed square.
A few years ago, I bought some DIN squares from a maker in the UK. They are fantastically made and perfectly square, but are multiple times the price of this square.
Dag Dennis, het is zeer interessant wat je laat zien over het vaststellen van de afwijking van de blokhaken. Ook zeer leerzaam. Dank je wel voor de uitgebreide toelichting. Groet, Hans
Great channel, love the China tool videos, but also your other videos too
Outstanding Review thank you and the video was very professional, I can now make an informed choice and i will purchase the two squares that came out tops from Bang Good
Love the in depth reviews you do this is way up there for tool reviews, more measuring tools to purchase 😂
Always interesting. You are an expert teacher and we thank you for sharing your expertise to us..
Hi Pat,
Thanks for your comments! As usual. I highly appreciate them!
Another great review. Thank you.
Another very informative and enjoyable video - thanks Dennis.
As always, thanks for your comments Sam!
Very thoughtful and helpful information. Your English is superb.
Love these reviews.. Keeps me from making bad investments.
you have an awesome channel! i appreciate the efford you put in all of your reviews! thanks!

2. 5 Inch Contour Profile Gauge Tiling Laminate Tiles Edge Shaping Wood Measure Ruler
3. Universal Magnetic Drawer Slide Jig Cabinet Drawer Mounting Tool for Installing Drawer Slides Woodworking Tool
Awesome review thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Hahaha! You really went hardcore this time regarding accuracy :D
You made a good review about the Digital Height Gauge in a woodworker point of view. It doesn't matter if you are short of a 10 micrometer. Accuracy is not much of a problem with a 10 micrometer deviation since wood relief tension when you are cutting thru, it also contracts and expands depending on the moisture level. For machinist point of view then its a different story. The comment is subjective.
new favorite channel after this
Brilliant, I love this channel
As usual, very insightful reviews, and ones that save us from wasting even a few dollars on worthless purchases. Thank you.
That said, I believe it is important for one not to forget to coordinate acceptable tolerance to application. I myself do both on-site carpentry and in-shop cabinetmaking and custom woodworking. So I have for years maintained two sets of tools. Some of those that are perfectly suitable for site work would not be so in the shop. Likewise, I would never subject some of my more precise tools to the real life conditions and contingencies of the job site. Theoretical accuracy and precision are both limitless. One must learn what matters and where.
In this spirit, I would suggest that a few of the extremely inexpensive layout tools that have rightfully received low marks here might be at the same time superior and less expensive than the corresponding mass-produced ones that I often see in carpenter's tool kits in the field.
Thanks Michael for your comment. I think you are right!
I’m with Tea Chen. A square has one really simple job. People who make something that can’t fulfil it’s fundamental purpose should be poked by devils for eternity (along with estate agents).
Yeah like Dennis said. A square has one job and that's being 90° anything more or less makes it useless.
Sure not all of us might need that accuracy but why work with a faulty square? It's going to set great makers off of making things because everything they end up making with that thing is wobbly...
I really like your approach and style with these reviews, well done!
I would like to see you test out these three.
1600X zoom 8 LED USB digital microscope hand held.
0-200 0-300 360 degree LCD display carbon fibre digital angle gauge.

Cheers, and keep up the good work 👏👏👏
Hallo Dennis, thank you very much for your reviews! Especially big thank you for comparisson between high and low quality products. Inbeween I trust your meaningful ratings completely as the products I bought were exactly as described by you. Warm regards, Roman
Thanks Roman,
I appreciate your comment. And I am glad you find my ratings accurate!
Great video again, I can only confirm that not everything from China is crap. It makes sense to take a closer look. That's why your videos are so informative. Keep it up
Dear Dannis,
Can you indicate where you bought the writing hook that you rated with 5 points? thank you in advance
Very interesting review Dennis!
My suggestion for review:
120 Degree Adjustable Quick Grip Clamp Woodworking F Clamp (especially how they would compare with Bessey's Kliklamps)
Woodworking Aluminum Alloy Router Table Insert Plate Mounting Base Plate For Makita 700C or similar router table insert
Quick Ratchet Release Speed Squeeze Woodworking Clamp Clip Kit Spreader Gadget Tool DIY
I love your reviews. I am an engineer and you take a careful engineering approach to your reviews. I also like that you are open to contrary feedback as you did with Honda’s comments. Unfortunately my wife keeps an eye on my spendinG so I am unable to rush out and purchase what you recommend. I do note the products that you review so that I can use your guidance when the need - as opposed to the wish - materializes.mKeep it up and thank you for all you do. Stu
Thanks Stu, appreciate your comment!
Hi like your reviews Dennis but your costing me a small fortune. If you get a chance could you do a review on dowlling jigs, Pipe clamps (i can't afford to spend thousands on parallel clamps) and T slot track Stops, thanks and keep up the reviews.
I'm really enjoying the China Tool review. I can't wait for more.

Very useful!! Suscribed. Cheers from Argentina
Where can I buy those bench hold downs I saw in the beginning of the video?
HI, just love your reviews, also would just like to inform you what I have learned from a old carpenter, that grove on the inside of a square is to put your pencil point to enable you to use the inside of your square to draw a line from the edge. Thanks again for the reviews.
Hi Hannes, Again, thanks for your comment, it sounds reasonable.
Gracias,excelente y muy ùtil.
thank you for proving once again that you can be part of this hobby and have accurate equivalent tools as the "posh" brands.... I see you do own many of the "posher" brands but you're willing to compare these with reasonable priced substitutes....
I point this out because if someone new was getting into woodworking and was learning what to get just by searching youtube... they would be lead to believe that they MUST own brands like festard, sawstop, kreg, powermatic, incra, woodpecker and so on... not realizing for the most part its technique and practice, thats key, and not the tools... they forget woodworking is 1000's of years old.... sure some of the "bourgie" tools help make things easier... but its really the person behind the tool that really counts....
thanks again for a great video
Thanks for your comment. I agree. Good tools, (not necessary expansive tools) can make woodworking life a lot easier, but the man behind the tools still are the most important factor.
While accuracy of the tools is obviously of the utmost importance, it’s worth considering that once you have set up any machine with them and subsequently cut any timber, that timber is not going to be stable due to humidity, timber type, grain variations of the timber etc. This will apply especially to the highly accurate cuts talked about here. In woodworking do we really need these accuracies,( I speak as someone that has spent all his working life as a carpenter joiner and now 55 years old).
Hi, No, we do not, for the reason you mention. That said, for the depth of dado's, dovetails I like to have a consistent precise measerment device.
In these price categories I do not feel the need to buy something that is less accurate. But I agree with you on every point.
Very interesting and informative information on these tools. If I’m not too late I would like one of the tools because I don’t have any like them.
Thanks
Randy
There is a link in the description. You can buy these on Banggood
Another fantastic video
Looking forward to a video about China Clamps..
I hope I can do a video about this in the future. They wanted to sent me a clamp, but I asked if they could sent me all the different kind of clamps so I can test them all and compare them against each other. They did not say no, so perhaps in the future. Same is with T-tracks. There are a lot of different designs and accessoires so I want to test them all and see what is good to have, and what not.
The good news is, I got 60% of the suggested items from my give a way action. So reviews are coming :-)
Thank you for your reviews, it’s refreshing to see unbiased opinions. Have you found a combination square that is actually square? I use my combination squares a lot, but I’ve yet to find one that is actually square...
Hi Gerard,
Good question, I think it is hard to find a actually square combination square. Because of the moving parts it is not that secure. But they sent me some kind of combination square for testing. I have to work with it first, but you will see it in future episodes.
Thanks
Dennis
would love for you do a review of Chinese digital vernier calipers. Mitotuyo is crazy expensive.
A score of two.... you're generous. There's a specific level in hell reserved for people who sell out of square squares. Good reviews especially with the DIN875 checks.
If I think back about projects that fail because of the wrong tools, you are probably right.
But at the other hand, I am a nice guy :-)
Thanks for your comment!
The worst square I once bought was from a local store Gamma, their own brand even. The square consisted out of 2 pieces riveted together and it had f*****g play in it. So not only was it not square it didn't even have any consistency to it!
Another shitty square is the plastic Stanley combination square, just stay away from that one.
Echt goed bezig!! Weetje wat ik zou doen. een webshop openen
zodat we gelijk via je site kunnen kopen zonder lange verzendtijd !
Dank je voor al je informatie !
I just found Your channel and I have to say it's brilliant. No unnecessary babbling around, like a precision tool :) Only one thing, do You have a Patreon? And definitely, I'll buy with an affiliated link. Thank You for your good work.
No, no Patreon. You comments means a lot. Thanks for using my affiliated links.Dennis
Love your channel Dennis have bought a few tools based on your reviews. Just to let you know there is no longer a deviation stamp on these products anymore
Oh, Thanks for the info. And that is the Square I use in my link?
@@HookedonWood yes it is and they have your reviews for all the products you give a good review to attached to the product site
Excellent reviews again Dennis,I'm interested in the squares are they well packaged for shipping? Thanks 👍
Hi Mark,
They come in hard carton boxes. That could be better, but It is strong enough to keep it safe during the trip in my opinion.
I'm hooked on your channel. I'm a DIYer and your reviews are phenomenal! I already ordered a few thru your links. I want to buy the square with a base thru your link but I don't see the DIN857/0. Is that okay?
Hi, That is correct. I was more surprised that when I got it, there was a stamp on it. I do not know if this is the case with all squares. But if I look at the reviews of users (on that page) you see all pictures with the stamp. Important is that the description says "0 grade" But to be short, this is the vendor where I bought my product from.
Did you also check the accuracy of the 45 degree miter gauge (both straightness and angle) ?
Hi, No, I would but it became a bit busy in this company and I did not want it to push it to the limits. I want to come back again for more measurements in the future :-)
But I new I had the INCRA and that would be a good reference for checking the miter square.
Maybe next time.
I got a trysquare from aliexpress that cost about $5.00 and I wasn't expecting much. I was shocked when I felt imperfection of about 1.5 mm on the base. the ruler has a lot of light showing up against my ruler for model railroad ruler. I had also ordered a lot of T Track items
Sometimes it is too good to be truth.
Denis, you are costing me more than my daughters education!
Hi Chris, My goal is to save you some money!
Thanks for your comment. Appreciate it!

I was always curious about the accuracy of digital calliper, angle rulers, inclinometer.. Kindly make a video on inclinometer..
I am working on it. I hope they will sent me different examples so we can compare different models.
I wish they sold a longer straight edge. 600 mm would be good.
Hi Dennis, was just checking the square comparrison and the one with the base is just the thing i need. In your video we can clearly see the DIN875/0 norm on the square but on the banggood site it is not. Just wondering if this really is the real deal? With kind regards.
Hi Nik, I checked and the link in my description is the product I bought. I know in the pictures there is no DIN norm. But I received with the DIN norm written on it. I also see pictures from other people in the reviews that have the stamp on it. But again, this is the vendor where I bought my Square.
@@HookedonWood Thanks Dennis for the info and the very fast reaction!
@@HookedonWood I don't see you using this product, but could you do a review on this? Wanting to buy it but i'm not sure. m.banggood.com/Adjustable-European-Double-Headed-Scribe-Blade-Tool-Wooden-Scribe-Line-Crosswood-Out-Tool-Woodworking-Tool-p-1414680.html?rmmds=detail-left-hotproducts__15&cur_warehouse=CN&p=OS111023860573201808&custlinkid=206528
I know these come out of your own pocket, but if you can wrangle a donation from them, would love to see a review of their miter guage and sliding aluminum bars that look like incras. Bought the ruler and need maker based on your vids and now I'm eyeing the height guage
Hi Jin,
Can you give me a link to that product?
Thanks, Dennis

Could you review the parallel clamps from Banggood?
Hoi Tony,
I talk with them about it. They do not have these heavy parallel clamps. I think the lighter ones are to expansive. Then I would buy Bessey clamps in a sale. They cost almost the same. Axminster trade is also China made, so I hope they will come with some kind of clamp soon, because, although I prefer the Bessey clamps in every way, the Axminster trade clams are not that bad. And when the price is good, that can be a very attractive alternative for the Bessey clamps
Have u tried banggoods multifunctional scribe guage
Hi Buddy,
No, I did not. All the products I tested you can find here. hookedonwood.online/China-Tools-Ranking/

Most of the BangGood measuring tools are in millimeters without an equivalent model using Imperial. As I am in the USA I can't use them (with some notable exceptions like the height gauge. I mention this because you rightly point out that they have a lot of products with excellent quality/price ratios. Thanks as always.
Learn to use metric, then just use whatever is appropriate - imperial or metric.

@@HookedonWood Also, im curious about the various metric forstner bit sets they have, being in north america its really hard for me to find metric stuff even though Im in the metric country here our market is dominated by SAE stuff from the south, perhaps a comparison of a few varieties they carry would be cool.
Is it only my phone that can't open the links??
Thanks for your comment. They work now!
Yor excellent reviews seem to be working: The squares are all sold out on the banggod website.....
I see it also. I hope they be back in stock soon! :-)
I was wanting to buy too.
Good job getting the cnc to measure the blade out of square. However I dont understand why you gave that square a 2 out of 5. If you buy a tool, and that tool does not proform what its suppose to do, it is the very definition of useless. Now I understand that if can't measure reliably the error, it doesn't/won't matter. But you can clearly see with your feeler gauge that its out.
I always hold a 12inch straight edge up to my 6inch square and scribe a line on a piece of MDF and flip it over.
Anyway, keep up the good work mate.
Hi Woodruff, You are right about the score. But 2 or 1 is not relevant. I think I will change it in the future. Everything below 3 stars I do not recommend .
It is to the viewer if it is still good enough for him. And I would not recommend that little square.
all banggood link are broken. :(
I do not find any problem. But I see that all the products are out of stock. So you can not order them. Is that what you mean?
Otherwise, try to refresh your youtube page!
Thanks for your comment!
DAMN you're doing a great job !
Because so many american machinists on youtube spit on chinese products in general !

can anybody say peter piker pepper but with Square square square fast
Ordered the miter square. Very disappointed, because there is no base to make it stand straight by itsself. Maybe the item has changed. Aftersales is not the best part of Banggood, since they refuse to take the item back and ship a decent one, or refund.
Did you get it without a base? I did no this existed. Not nice. Sorry to hear.
