Overnight In Remote Cabin

- I went "camping" up a winding mountain road in an #oldcabin. It was available to use on a first-come first-served basis. An amazing little lake and 2 little campsites were just perfect for me for the night. Mosquitoes were horrible, but in the #remotecabin was cozy and mosquito free for most of the night.

Thanks for zooming in on my signature on the cabin wall. :) The red and white bottle on the shelf is Chinese rice wine.
aha! I knew you'd slip up one day, gotcha!
This is perfect , DBCooper is a CWS subscriber
Just gold star !
Acceptable view is a vast understatement
Try, putting a couple of dryer sheets in your shirt pocket to ward off mosquitoes
that Chinese rice wine is actually really expensive and difficult to buy. it's called Mao Tai. tastes good
Sorry for the late upload, it was uploaded 4 hours ago but got stuck on processing the 4k version of the video. Cheers everyone!
Gotta love technology. Always happy to see a new video wether it’s on time or not. Cheers
Popcorn and Steve for a late evening watch!
You’re the man Steve!
My camping with Steve's senses were tingling because I literally opened my phone and said isn't it Thursday 🙃 and bam your video was uploaded!! Cheers buddy
No worries!! ❤ you!
"I don't mess with old wooden board games I find in cabins."
Really solid advice. I see Steve is showing off his knowledge of bushcraft AND witchcraft.
Always mess around with wiji boards in random cabins 😂I feel like I've watched a few movies like that
Or old books bound in human skin…
😅
Sad
@minekush1138 if you can't spell the word...probably should leave the board alone. Just sayin... (fyi, it's spelled ouija... not wiji....smh)
It was 5 years ago when you got me back into camping. This evening I just got back after 4 nights wild camping in our remote Scottish Highlands. We had fires by the loch sides, some step 2s, glorious sunsets and falling asleep to the lapping of waves.
You are a legend, Steve. I’m forever grateful.
You have made an old woman happy. 😂

I was contemplating coming from Canada in the next year to do the very same thing. Where is the best location to rent camping equipment?
@@TheUltimateScot Everyone I know buys their equipment as opposed to renting it. There are places which rent equipment but I cannot recommend them.
Decathlon stores stock most of what you would need. They are found in major cities across Europe.
@@raven4k998 Not funny, I didn't laugh. Your joke is so bad I would have preferred the joke went over my head and you gave up re-telling me the joke. To be honest this is a horrid attempt at trying to get a laugh out of me. Not a chuckle, not a hehe, not even a subtle burst of air out of my esophagus. Science says before you laugh your brain preps your face muscles but I didn't even feel the slightest twitch. 0/10 this joke is so bad I cannot believe anyone legally allowed you to be creative at all. The amount of brain power you must have put into that joke has the potential to power every house on Earth. Get a personality and learn how to make jokes, read a book. I'm not saying this to be funny I genuinely mean it on how this is just bottom barrel embarrassment at comedy. You've single handedly killed humor and every comedic act on the planet. I'm so disappointed that society has failed as a whole in being able to teach you how to be funny. Honestly if I put in all my power and time to try and make your joke funny it would require Einstein himself to build a device to strap me into so I can be connected to the energy of a billion stars to do it, and even then all that joke would get from people is a subtle scuff. You're lucky I still have the slightest empathy for you after telling that joke otherwise I would have committed every war crime in the book just to prevent you from attempting any humor ever again. We should put that joke in textbooks so future generations can be wary of becoming such an absolute comedic failure. I'm disappointed, hurt, and outright offended that my precious time has been wasted in my brain understanding that joke. In the time that it took I was planning on helping kids who have been orphaned, but because of that you've wasted my time explaining the obscene integrity of your terrible attempt at comedy. Now those kids are suffering without meals and there's nobody to blame but you. I hope you're happy with what you have done and I truly hope you can move on and learn from this piss poor attempt
Yeah!!!
One thing I admire about Steve's videos is that he puts emphasis on respecting your environment - both leaving things how you found it, and not fooling around with safety. Love the videos!
Three thumbs up to whoever is responsible for the cabin. There needs to be more of these in this world.
So true!! I know of two here in BC, but you cant just drive up to it.. we took horses , seven hours in😎😃🎶
Plenty in the NW here.. Most of them unfortunately (actually fortunately) are not easily accessed i.e. backpack or horse into them. I think it actually helps maintain the integrity of these places.

Been awhile since I've watched a Camping With Steve, the pain he was suffering after his loss was even to hard for me to watch, but I can tell in his video he's turned a corner, this might legitimately be my favorite video of his. Something just feels different about this one for me. Anyways, I'll take a look at some previous videos I've missed. Thanks again Steve!
I appreciate your comment! Thanks for coming back 👍
this wholesome man and his wholesome videos are the only thing getting me thru life right now and he'll probably never even know it.
Well, thanks to you commenting Jacob, now I do 😉! I appreciate your very kind, heartfelt words. Very grateful for viewers such as you! Cheers :)
I never really understand those comments about random CZcams videos helping “get people through life”. How do they do that exactly?
This right now gets him through❤
I want to live there too steve
@FSU2001 Maybe they want to try camping 1 day and, need to know tips and tricks on how to do it. Or see Steve's great sense of humor.
“Lately, I’ve been made aware of our own mortality.”
That got me. Although I know you only when you’re on the screen, I see you like a family member and I feel the heaviness behind those words. You are an amazing example of real struggle through adversity, Steve. Kudos!
He is like a distant cousin that sends videos of his adventures about once a week.
One that you care for and think of often, even though you realize he doesn't know you from a bale of hay.
We all love this guy..

No, Steve. I'm here for the small in-between moments, basking in the vibes you present while I continue to toil in concrete cubes wishing and planning getaways like this.
Thank you for everything, as frikkin' always. This is why some of us are here. To getaway. With you. Vicariously. ❤

Wearing my Hunker Down shirt, drinking a step 2 in my not a beer koozie, sitting in front of a campfire and watching camping with Steve. It doesn't get much better.
Man, I find this kind of thing beautiful. A really well maintained free to use cabin, where apparently most of the users take care to keep it that way. It's really heartwarming to see this kind of collective use working out.

As a home dialysis patient, I enjoy falling asleep to these peaceful videos at night. So relaxing while hooked up to my cycler.
You should make a tradition of going to this cabin! I would love to see this in a winter video.
Can't say you've been camping without some good mosquito bites, perhaps a horse or deer fly bite on your foot or ankle, ..a little sunburn , let's ya remember the fun of the experience!!! Hunker down friends!
This place is beautiful. Camping is always a cross between possible horror story or pleasant solitude.
No one could blame you for never wanting to leave such a beautiful site.
What a cozy episode this was. This has become one of my favorite episodes.
Wow, so nice of you to say, thanks!
Same here , it would be so cool to have a place like that to go camp at.
Agreed. Top 3 along with polar vortex camping and the roadside one where the stove flamed up. I've been on reruns almost every night for all Steve's videos
So glad you found peaceful digs for the night after dealing with flood and fire evacuations. Such a hard time deserves a great place to unstealthily camp and to leave some gratitude! I was just watching one of your two yr old videos and you were baking potatoes. Yes they take forever to bake. My daughter takes the potatoes (just to cut down on time) and she boils them for 20-30 minutes. Then takes them and lets them cool and when the grill is ready to cook on she wraps them in foil and puts them on the grill with the meat and corn on the cob(if we decide to cook some). Usually the potatoes are done 20 minutes later and everything is still hot. Just a suggestion
