Float tube flyfishing Eastmanville Bayou, Allendale, MI 061824

June 18, 2024: I live only about 5 minutes away from Eastmanville Bayou and for years I have told myself I need to do some float fishing there. Earlier today, 061824, I finally made it happen! I only had about an hour to spare, so I grabbed my float tube, my 5-wt rod, and headed out.
It was overcast and a light drizzle was falling, and I caught nothing until I made the decision to call it. As I was slowly working my way back to the ramp I finally hooked onto a fat, 16-inch largemouth bass!
I was using a 5-wt rod with weight forward, sinking tip line and a homemade streamer of olive green marabou, silver flashabou, a gold beadhead and a strip of brown rabbit fur.
That one fish dancing and skipping on the water made it a phenomenal day!!
