    Welcome to the float tube world my brother. If you don't have them you have to have fins ditch the paddle. An anchor is a must. The vest is similar to the one I have I always wear it no matter what anybody tells me. And for sure you got to have yourself a net. Good luck. You can catch me at Santa Ana River lakes during trout season every weekend. Just ask for Don

      Been using a float tube for almost 30 years. I've never needed an anchor. Every movement is done with the flippers, even to stay in one spot.

      Thanks for the advice. Sounds like I need a better pair of fins and a lot more practice.

    Im considering getting one. It looks fun, and that's one of my fears, the wind, but someone mentioned an anchor be handy

    The float tube looks like a lot of fun. I’m currently on a kayak. I’d love to try the float tube out.

    Appreciate your videos fam. I’m also in SoCal, but I float tube the harbors…Alamitos Bay, Huntington and Newport. I had the same yellow Caddis tube you did and just picked up a Cumberland this morning. Can’t wait to get it out on the water. It looks to be more roomy with more storage space in the pockets than the yellow Caddis.

    Get some better fins man. Sometimes taking less is better! That pole holder is overkill like I have never seen before! Don't worry about how stable these are... I have been in hi winds with 4-5 foot swells and never worried. You're riding between two big air bubbles. They wont break or flip over unless you do something really dumb. TRY to tip it over while you are in shallow water... damn near impossible! Wind will blow and spin you around and actually turns the open part of the V in the winds direction... hits you in the face. I kick my way into the wind then let it spin me around and push me back towards the dock so I relax on the way back.

      @thecsickfisherman  Před rokem

      Good tips and thanks for sharing. I made those adjustments a last year and noticed the difference. And I’m working on a new pole holder. Something that’s not in the water and can hold my camera

      @@BiggameTechJourney word. i fish on a regular ass kayak. a $3000 fishing kayak makes the task of reeling in and unhooking a fish no easier than on a $100 one from marketplace. i also found some cheap drill-in rod holders, so its tricked out!

      @eddiealexanderthegreat Před rokem +1

      Man we gotta go together! You need a small anchor FOR SURE. Also your fins are too small. The paddle is for emergencies or slight assistance. And Booties help when you gotta walk back. i can send some links if you want

    Dude nice video, but you're haulin' way too much crap on your tube. No way should you need a paddle. Yep, when the wind kicks up you gotta stay close to shore or get out. try to simplify your set-up.

      Haha yea ur right bro. That’s what I was thinking when I was out there. But it was the fins I had. They kept slipping when I would try to turn. I got some better ones and things went way smoother
