We decided to forgo hiring a professional and survey the boat ourselves. It was a bit of a rocky road, but after some help, it all worked out better than we could have predicted.

Excellent episode :)
Thanks amigo!
I'm in the same process here in Brasil. I bought a 1988 50ft sailboat project by german frers - produced by FAST YATCHS. Have a good o luck refiting the boat! Its a lot of work buts is the best way to have a boat that you know form the keel to the mast top
Yeah, we have already put in some months of work! >< Now just trying to get you all caught up! Best of luck with yours as well! Thanks for following our journey!
I used to live on my Atkin Eric, the smaller sister to your Ingrid.. they are amazingly wonderful designs and sail beautifully... congrats on yours.. all the best ...
Oh wow, I've seen bit on the Eric. Where did you sail / live on her?
Lived on her for a few years, mostly crusing the bahamas...
Your amimations are lovely :-)
Thank you so much! Julia loves to see comments like this! Gives her motivation to draw more :)
Hello Julia and Tyler, You guys make REALLY good videos. Loved this one. We can very much relate to your buying experience and first sail. We also did a self-survey and the first time we sailed the boat with more than 8 knots of wind was our 12 day passage to ferry the boat to the U.S.A.. We were nervous but we quickly gained confidence in the seaworthiness of our Ingrid. They are darn good sea boats. We took a break from our refit to escape the heat but plan to get back to work on her soon. Determination and perseverance are our mantra. Can hardly wait to get back on the water and do some exploring!!! Best of luck to you both!!! Steve and Justyna SV Alaskason
Thank you! We are kindred spirits with our Ingrids! It's a labor of love, but we are excited to finally be back on the water. More than ready, as I am sure you can relate! >< Hope you can get back to your refit soon! Keep in touch!
Magnificent yacht. It won't take long to get the outside looking as sharp as the interior...
Thank you! We like her! She sailed amazingly well. Actually, in real time, we have already made some progress on the outside as well. So we look forward to sharing it with you soon!
Love the story and we love you guys.
Very informative and entertaining.
Thanks so much!
As always, an amazing video! We love seeing more of your story along with getting to see the boat in the water. Julia's animations are beautiful and add so much to the story telling and Tyler's cinematography makes the video feel so professional and easy to watch. And once again I need the soundtrack to be my ringtone. Also, it was so cool seeing Kito again!
Can't wait to see the next episode. Keep up the amazing job,
-Ben and Jordyn
Thank you! You two are the best! Did you get the soundtrack back on your phone yet? :) Miss you both! See you soon in the US!
Awesome. You may look at Hundred Rabbits posted to and from Japan sailing a couple years ago.
Yes, I used to watch them back when they were in Japan! Seems they have slowed down a bit now online, would love to meet them sometime to talk about their adventures on their little Yamaha sailboat.
Solid boat. Will serve you for many nautical miles. Kudos for keeping her out of the landfill.
Something about these old boats that tugs at the heart strings compared to all the newer boats. We have already done a lot to her, hope you follow along as we get her in ship shape. Cheers!
Amazing, good luck for what's next for you guys!
Thanks Steve! We are back in Tokushima for the moment, so if you are in the area, let us know! Would love to catch up.
Can’t wait to see more of your journeys!
Just posted another one today! :D Hope to see you guys soon! Come out on our boat!
Watched it today! Would love to come to Japan!
I am absolutely loving watching your journey! I admire you both.
Thank you so much Shawn! Come to San Diego early next year and go for a sail with us!

斉藤さん!ありがとう!!
I love you both and soon to be Ramona Rae.. What a beautiful line and right and interior most of all and even your crew member is wonderful.. I have subscribed and will watch every episode I can.. I have a dear friend in Japan I would love to see someday...so far a romance in words and photos only.. I am to old and sickly to take such a sail.. giving up an Atlantic sail on the Star Flyer clipper 24 nights from Malaca Spain to Gibraltar to Moraco and 4 nights in the Canarias or Azores with 14 nights crossing the Atlantic to St Baarts for only $3600 I would need raise the funds but am not up to it anyway. Maybe when you get to Japan with me watching each episode you can tell my love I send a message of hello and hugs from America 😊
Wow, what a kind soul you are Bill. Thank you for sharing your story, and sorry to hear you are unable to join the clipper sail. It sounds like an amazing experience. We will do our best to take you along for the ride! Hope you can make it to Japan and your love someday soon!
