Hi, I teach English here,and I came here in 2001 n a woking holiday because I liked history/Japanese castles. Still here. :/
Beautiful looking car in any colour. I've always liked the Nissan/Datsun Cedric cars. Probably because they've never been sold here in the United States. I've never seen one. Except for the radio/cd player, it looks original, like it came from the Nissan factory. I like that.
60’s JDM cars are the best!
Well, 70s in my case
I'm not sure when I first heard of a Cedric, probably when I was just a young fella in the mid to late '60s, but I thought then, and I do now, that it is the funniest name I have ever heard for a car. Imagine the dudes at Nissan sitting around a table and brainstorming that one...Cedric. It's gold. So this example is fitting.
Wow, you saw a skyline without watanabes. That's amazing
I see those crochet-looking half seat covers a lot.
Yeah, she's a pretty fine example.
That's a nice old car... I'd love to have a peek under the hood. I imagine it has dual carbs, and resembles the engine in a 240Z.
Sweet looking car. I've always been interested in the Nissan Cedric and the Toyota (Toyopet) Crown. For some strange reason, the Cedric has never set foot on American soil, at least I've never seen one, and the Toyota Crown has seen such limited import to North America that I've never seen any here.
Don't often see a gold car. And, it just happens to be the colour I picked for the Chevy Nova plastic kit I'm working on.
Your comments ARE gold. :D
It is a rarity. ;-)
love the videos dude! what do you do for a living? how have you ended up in JP?
I wonder if the engine wouldn't be the same as the one in a Prince Gloria video I did. (One of my very first vids.) It even had an OHC.
it has the very rare j20 inline six engine????
Even I didn't hang about 'til the end. I'm not sure what the deal was..
what!? No fun intro!? :o!?
That looks very good in golden. That´s rare isn´t it?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Custom Six had a G20 with dual throat Hitachi and 100hp? While the Super Six had the L20 with dual SU style Hitachi's and 125hp......I believe 😊.
If these are rare in Japan, what are they here in Australia??
G'day. Sorry to say that I just don't have that info on the car. Of course they'd be rare in Australia, but the situation in Japan is a little different. Australians tend to hang onto their cars longer. In Japan, after 10 - 12 years cars get crushed, sold overseas, etc... at a scary rate. Having said that, it's highly likely there would be more of these in Japan than Australia
@@wasabicars Ah g'day, thanks for the reply.
I've been looking for info on these cars because I have one lined up to purchase. It's a '68 Datsun 2000 Super Six with dual SU's, 4 speed column shift.
Besides the high horsepower L20 (which has a finned alloy sump), the interior is very interesting. It has a separate heater system in the boot that draws air from the parcel shelf and blows it out from under the back seat, and is controlled from a radio fascia styled panel in the back of the front seat, which also has tuning and volume knobs that control the radio remotely.......😮.
These cars were meant to be very upmarket in Australia I think. Looking at the car the first time just blew my mind.
Car is dark grey with ox blood red interior and gold badges.
Do you know if Nissan Japan have heritage info on cars like these?
@@wasabicarsI just watched your video again, the car here actually looks like the black car next to the gold one in your video, the headlights sit higher than the bonnet edge.
The car here is compliance as 1968, but maybe it was a '67 model in Japan?
Sounds awesome. And I doubt Nissan Japan will have much on the cars. I did find this: www.nissan-global.com/EN/HERITAGE/1960.html#nav-model_100000331
@@wasabicars Yes, I had stumbled across that page too, doesn't show a '68 Super Six though 😡.
Have you noticed what motors these cars have in Japan, are they single or dual carb?
Just wondering if they have the Custom and Super models in the JDM.
looks like a mk4 cedric. they had L20a, L23, or L24 engines.
+vhg130 Thanks :)
Nice car. Weirdest seat covers ever.
Sorry, fun has been been canceled until further notice. :/
