What model of kettle have function to keep set 120 deg F for Gyokuro tea. Or keep custom temp for up to 2 hours. Or maybe you recomend other brands of kettle. Thank you
Another great video from Jeffrey! I hadn't heard about the Saki until today. I'm still rocking my Bonavita Goseneck until the day it dies. Good to know the Fellow is still being used after a few years on the market. I'm always concerned about long term usage when buying a brand new product at a premium price. I'll probably get a Fellow whenever I'm in the market for a replacement.
Thanks for watching! Yeah long term is so important, especially at these price points. I have really enjoyed the Fellow, it’s was my go to and still is, however I have been pleasantly surprised by the saki.
Now that you have had the Fellow pink for a while, have there been any issues with the finish? Any scratches or chipping? I really love the pink, though I wish it was all pink, without the wooden handle. And I’m thinking the black would hold up nicer over time, be more forgiving to signs of wear and tear.
Great question. The Fellow has held up better then any of my other kettles, however the pink kettle body as picked up some cosmetic scratches that are noticeable (scratches). However in terms of durability and function there are no issues and I still use it almost daily. I also have two black Fellow kettles, neither have noticeable scratches like the pink. (but I also travel to events with my kettle a lot, hence why there might be scratches)
@@JeffreyMcIntosh thanks, another thing to consider in my decision. I have been considering which one I want for a week now. I think if not for the wood, I’d have bought the pink already.
Have you had any issues with the Saki? I saw a few reviews of people saying they smelled like chemicals and one showed the plate at the bottom burned through
I have not had those issues, I have had and used mine for one year, however now I notice the touch panel is harder to turn off and is a little funky, for instance it may take holding down the power button 5 seconds instead of the normal 3 seconds. But the kettle has not had issues yet. Hope that helps. The Fellow is indeed much better built, I am going on 4 years for my kettle.
Hi, I'm looking for a kettle, settling on the Saki Luna or Fellow Corvo, but both seem to be of similar quality so I'm surprised that you suggest the Fellow is of much better quality. I've seen one reviewer criticize the quality of the Fellow plastic base and switches on back, and another goes into how simplistic the electronic components are in the expensive Fellow. I was under the impression that the Saki was a heavier gauge steel, but there might be a learning curve with the capacitive buttons. I would probably prefer the dial on the Fellow, but otherwise thought for 2/3 the price I was getting the same overall quality with the Saki. PS: the Saki apparently has zero contact between the water (directly or through steam/condensation) and any plastics/silicone: can you confirm that there's no sensor inside the bottom of the kettle with a silicone ring?
If so, that's pretty impressive I think. Thanks for any info you can share.
