Beyond bottle opener distractions the Trayvax’s Element is an excellent choice!

  • Made from stainless steel and full-grain leather, the materials are excellent as are all of Trayvax’s wallets. With an adjustable leather component to accommodate more cards and a great cash clip/strap, cards and cash are secure. The only oddity is the protrusion of the bottle opener and lanyard eyelet. As a potential to scratch up other items in the same pocket and poke holes in pants, it’s an odd design element…but you get a bottle opener out of it! ‪@TrayvaxEnterprises‬

      Lethal! 😂 Yeh it’s a great looking wallet and I really like Trayvax gear, however, this one has never appealed to me as there is too much metal poking about at that end.

    Disagree with rating. $74 for a wallet of this quality is not expensive at all. For some reason society wants the highest quality items for cheap beer prices. Break-in period was a few days and wallet works perfectly and easily. Perception, easily a 5. Definitely a conversation starter. Happened many times. Clearly we all have our opinions. That's what makes this world awesome. Great review.

    Different design idea of a slim wallet, however the metal part can be heavy and stingy in a pocket of tight Jeans! Nice review.

    This is how my viewing is going just lately - OO a nice wallet, Wait, there’s a pen, OO what’s the pen? OO there’s a watch? What’s that then? 😂 No issue with your video style Mark, I’m easily distracted by fine gear all round 🙂👍🏻

    Their Website states that this wallet is actually top grain leather. Was it originally made with a full grain?

      Price isn’t in the equation, but that said I can get a much more functional wallet than the Element for less than $70. The features are also lacking and it’s heavy.

    I think if you have to spend half of the video warning us of the dangers of carrying this wallet, we can take the hint and move on. I can't even imagine who would want to carry that thing in their pocket. Maybe it's a good wallet for backpackers who can carabiner it to their packs...

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  Před 4 lety +2

      Probably spill over of my initial first impression and even into the review. If they lost the pointy bottle opener and eyelet, this would be a fine wallet with the same nice footprint of their Ascent wallet.

      @@walletopia Not a fan of a wallet potentially damaging credit cards. If a wallets main function is to carry cards and cash and it can't do that safely. It really has no business being called a wallet. Maybe they could market it as a bottle opener that also can function as a wallet?

      tacti-cool at its' finest. They aren't marketing towards those who actually work in harsh environments they are marketing towards people who want other people who also don't work in harsh environments to think that they do. Bottle opener, yeah because a manly man who needs a metal framed wallet also carries glass bottles on their missions...yup.
      Backpackers and military personnel prioritize lightweight and water resistance, a lanyard is a great feature as well. My love for 550 cord from my time serving doesn't equate to wanting to see it implemented poorly. Gutted 550 ties off extremely well with fantastic durability, but even so not against metal, that is going to fray and fail. "Mil-Spec" is a load of BS 90% of the time.

    • @reeb9016
      @reeb9016 Před 4 lety +5

      @@All4Grogg Actually, I don't think they're marketing to people who work in harsh environments at all. Nor sure where that comes from. I mean, they never say it or present it visually in that way (unless you feel hiking is harsh). Describing the material (mil-spec) is simply that, letting you know what you're getting. They are just using quality material that is put together solidly and, sure, looks very cool. I mean, why make a product that doesn't have appeal? All the while being small and light enough to hardly know you're carrying it and functions exceptionally well. And the bottle opener works great in an unharsh condition, like my kitchen, when I need it. For the last 15 years I had a cool Spec-Ops (which I'm not) wallet I picked up in Kuwait. Looked cool, was durable, and was able to hold alot of stuff. But it was big and bulky in my pocket and I took it out to drive. I hardly notice the Element in my front pocket. This is a product that, although you see it on film in reviews, is smaller and nicer when in hand. Just a solidly constructed beautiful wallet.
