I actually have the Ascent, right now, and I absolutely love it! Because of Talon Sei and this review, I will be upgrading to the Contour very soon! Thanks so much for the look and all of the great info!
That looks so cool .always news on new bigger and better items
Your video quality is top notch, great work.
By far, the best wallet that I have ever used ! I love it, even after years of designer wallets! Unfortunately I have become a bit of a Trayvax addict, because I carry both the Contour and the Original 2.0 daily because I absolutely love them both !
Call me a little biased, sure! Love trayvax company, owner and what he/they represent as a company. Trayvax is not only in my town but down the street from me, literally ( 3 stop lights, take a right, 2nd driveway on the right). Mark the owner, is a friend of mine and I can't say enough about the man he is, what he represents and the opportunities he has afforded to not only this community and the ppl living here but also the impact on lives all over, including mine. I would describe mark and His companies with two words "INTEGRITY and HUMBLE! All the products they make are of the highest quality & craftsmanship! So stoked and proud to see more and more channels reviewing their products and spreading the word.
Absolutely a great company.
I think the contour wallet looks amazing wish I can upgrade to something like that n to pass down to your love ones sometime in the future .BTW great videos
This is a highly interesting wallet. Im digging that clasp mechanism. The leather and the steel looks great too. I'm into that gold frame.
Just ordered the Ridge but I may like this one better. Both videos where good. Thanks for the information
Big fan of the Contour it's in my pocket right now, I also like carrying the Ascent it's just a little more limited in the amount of cards you can carry but it's a great wallet too, both are so well built they'll last my life time and as you mentioned they both start looking better with age due to the patina on the leather. Also carry the OG 2.0 (OD green) when on the boat or at the beach and have to say it looks great and is really well thought out, needless to say I'm a big Trayvax fan. Have to note that the Ascent doesn't have a bottle opener on it, obviously not a deal breaker for me.
Enjoyed the video, hope you had a good 4th.
Kevin S Thanks for your comment! 🤘🏻
Definitely love my Contour. I agree that it is the best wallet I have ever owned.
Feel like I have to have it.... great review!
At last the contour 😆!! Great review once again chris 👍, all the review i saw about the contour , you are the only one that pointed out the grid on the leather that helps you adjust accurately the wallet, and now im considering getting one now😁 lol.
You definitely wouldn’t be disappointed! And if you do, make sure you grab the free Summit Trayvax is offering. Can’t beat free stuff :)
Thanks for watching man! 🤘🏻
@@ChrispyThings yeah awesome deal thanks chris!!, btw do all contour comes with their longer leather strap now? No option to choose for the 8 cards or 13 cards strap 😅
@@j.a.styles547 just call Trayvax to be sure. Their customer service is great... and when I ordered mine over a year ago over the phone with real person ... she said they all ship with the longer strap now and it must have been so. Because I carry 11 cards and a couple folded bills
After Seeing Your Review, I Ordered The Contour. Gold w/ Tobacco Leather.Trayvax Is A Wonderful Company.
I Will Own Every Product They Sell.
You’re going to love it! I have a 10% off code in the description box. Make sure you get the discount!
Love the Contour. Perfect EDC minimalist wallet. Switched to a Dango D01 for a few months, but went back to the Trayvax. Now I wonder why I ever switched. Great review!
I am on the fence about wether to go for the Trayvax Contour or a Dango Maverick or Dapper (pen). Why do you prefer the Trayvax over the Dango?
Robert Kamer So far it’s the ease of use. I carry a lot of credit/debit cards. Once you get use to shuffling through the cards in your inventory, you can’t beat the simplicity. I do give props to Dango for esthetic design. It’s pretty to look at. Trayvax is just more purposeful. Rugged.
Great Video! I have the Element and currently using the Original 2.0 still researching the Contour. Once again Great Video.
Charles B Thanks!
I love what Trayvax is doing, but the one thing keeping me from using my Axis full time is that you can’t easily adjust for more/less cards on the fly. The Axis technically has this, but I have to adjust it a few different times to get it just right. It just doesn’t do it for me. The Contour, while it seems to be a very high quality and solid wallet, looks to not be accommodating for people who have different amounts of cards often. My MSTRMND Apex 2.0 is my favorite so far, but the Stow Wallet you recently reviewed looks to handle cards & cash the best so far, so I might give that a shot!
Great review
After watching this video, I ordered the Contour in brass. So it's hard to believe that I have been carrying it in my pocket now for the past 4 years!
Ahhhh, I think the Trayvax Ascent might be for me!
OK. I'm sold... take my money!
What are your thoughts on the Trayvax Contour??
The lanyard ruins it for me. Like my wallets symmetrical.
Out of curiosity...I saw on one of the threads (6 months ago) that this was your favorite EDC wallet. Now that you've used the M1 rail wallet I am eager to hear which of the two you like better (and of course if there is another brand that's become your "favorite every day carry".
So I’m confused. Is the Travvax or the Ridge Carbon Fiber the best wallet?
Chrispy Things what about running the magnetic strip mine quits working when they run what’s your thoughta
@@matthewdillon1210 thier both really good wallets it really hard to to tell but in my opinion it's alot easier to get cards out of the trayvax contour wallet then the ridge
Great review! I love this wallet, I have the burgundy version...unfortunately I am not sure its still available on their site. The only downside is the cost. But, man, I love this wallet!
My contour is coming this Friday. After a lot of research I have a good feeling I will also love this wallet
Perry Diambois would appreciate an update from you?
SoSoMolecular wallet came in an well worth the money I love it I just ordered another strap this time in Mississippi Mud and they are still providing the free summit wallet with a purchase of any other wallet
Perry Diambois well
did u love it? does it scratch ur cards?
justin brewer yes still using it everyday. It does fray the cards on the ends slightly, but that’s not something major for me it’s nothing that doesn’t happen from daily use of the card.
Perry Diambois true true dat
Great vid!
Mister Master. Thanks!
The lanyard/key ring looks out of place. For a minimalist wallet, it's a tad bit too thick.
This wallet is really not that thick. You truly have to see it in person. It is very lightweight and you barely notice it on your pocket.
Finally!... The Contour!
Great review. You should check out the Decadent Minimalist DM1. I've had mine for years now and it's still going strong, but it doesn't seem to get enough love!
H Money I’ll look into it. Thanks!
I would live that edition to finish my edc
Hey, great review. Would you mind posting a pic of the gray leather now that it has patina? There are mostly videos using the brown and black leather, but few with the gray. Thanks! Can't wait to order one.
Would love to see this. Agreed.
I started years ago with a Trayvax Contour (red, red). Then I got a Dango Dapper slate gray wallet (red, gray, brown) Then I got a Dango Trek watch with brown leather strap. Got Dango brown leather belt to match the watch. Got the Dango Rails M1 wallet (black, red) Then I got the Travax brown leather key link with quick release + engraved my name on it. Got the Trayvax black key organizer. And finally, I just returned my Dango M1 Rails wallet so I could get a Trayvax Contour black & tobacco brown to match the key link + engraved back of contour with my name. I couldnt be happier. 🤠
Edit: Thanks Chrispy Things for all of the detailed reviews for these products that I have purchased from both companies. I like both Trayvax & Dango. I think of them like Coke & Pepsi. 2 of the best companies in that field, competition between one another because other companies don't even come close. 😎
have u tryed ridge?
Been wanting to pick up a Trayvax for a while, fingers crossed!
I just gave away a titanium Contour. I have more wallet giveaways coming soon. Have you entered into the Keybar or the Hellbent wallet giveaways yet?
Soon I’ll have a Ridge, Stow, another Trayvax and a few more giveaways!
@@ChrispyThings I haven't! Just entered for the Hellbent wallet, looks pretty cool too :) Thanks for the message!
I have a couple minimalist wallets and this one by far is the coolest I have seen. I am very interested in winning your give away for sure!!!
I’ll have the giveaway soon. I’m not sure what the rules will be yet considering some of the giveaways have been somewhat unsuccessful on my channel. It will involve being subbed at the very least. 🤘🏻
Awesome. I’m very excited!!!!!!!!!😃
Will the giveaway be a new video posted or a live stream?
Jeffrey Weyrauch Not sure yet. It could be either. If it’s a normal video it would be super short.
I have been using a Flipside3 for over three years, and functionality wise I think it is a great wallet, but after three years I wanted a change and ordered a Dango A10 with its accessories yesterday. Yet this Trayvax Contour and as well as Aviotor Slide seem to be great wallets in their own rights. Hard to resist...
All 3 are great wallets. I’ve had a Flipside 4 for a while now. Waiting for the 5!
Returning the Ridge (with 5 days remaining in return window) and buying this. Ridge’s money strap is not smooth and easy for adding/removing dollar bills. Cash gets in the way of the card-removal notch and always having to adjust the cash position. Conntour wallet concept looks so much better.
Great wallet , the gold one is Mississippi mud color leather FYI , thanks for the video
Thanks! I wasn’t sure of the actual name but you could be right! Thanks for clarifying 🤘🏻
Chrispy Things where can i find gold one? i dont see it on order menue
Love the wallet what color is that leather?
I have the contour titanium. Love it.
Still the best wallet I’ve ever used.
Chrispy Things yeah, I have no complaints in regards to the wallet. I will be buying their knife, have you done a video of that by chance? Thanks!
I have. This is the Kickstarter version and just received the retail version recently. I’ll be doing a comparison of the slight differences in the blade and sheath soon. But here’s my first video.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
Does it scratch the top card for rubbing the metal??
mike parr Does it scratch the top card from rubbing on the metal?
@@BigCheeseEDC I don't have one but you can see the leather padding. I'm confident it won't scratch you card one bit.
Can you do a video on the Flipside 4 wallet? It's a better system of handling the cards, money and opening and closing and is 100.00 less in cost. Look forward to your review. Thx.
I did it almost 2 years ago! Here it is!
czcams.com/video/EgINxK2w56Q/video.html
Just subscribes, really digging the channel. Have you done the giveaway for the black and gold contour yet?
Thanks man. And no I haven’t announced it yet. I’ve been working on a film here in Buffalo 12-16 hours a day until late Sept so my CZcams time has been limited. I record on my days off and try to get them out when I can. I’ll have to try and give that away soon.
@@ChrispyThings are you working on an unknown certain film in Akron?
Tell me a little bit about the cash holder portion of this wallet. I have been carrying an element for years and absolutely love it. When I open the leather strap to access my cards, there is zero chance of any cash falling out. It's still protected behind the leather flap and held in place by the metal cash holder. This wallet looks like every time you open it to access a card, there is a possibility of cash falling out. This concerns me because I usually carry one or two $100 bills. I almost never ever use cash but it's there in a pinch. Should I have a problem with my cards or someone simply doesn't take credit. I just don't want to have to baby $100 bills to ensure I'm not losing them. That's all. Thoughts? Thanks!
does it scratch the front card under button?
I just purchased the OG 2.0 but I really want the contour as well
I love the OG 2.0!
Did u already do the giveaway for the contour
What leather color is the wallet with the Crispy Things engraved? Thanks
I almost bought the Contour a few weeks ago. My final choices were between the Contour and Dango M series. Dango won out. It fits my daily needs a little better. After watching this video, I kind of feel a little torn.
How do you like your Dango?
@@ChrispyThings I really like it. Had to buy a money clip because of the amount of bills I carry. One day I may own both, but I am pleased and comfortable with my choice.
@@ChrispyThings Put it like his. You ever take your lady out and you get the tasty garlic mashed potatoes and she gets the big crispy steak fries. In that scenario, I can ask for a fry. In this case I can't have both but I keep looking at your table.
I’d like to know how the open face provides RFID protection?
I have no idea but mine works. I have to take my card out for something to read it.
Still thinking of either getting the Trayvax Contour or the Ridge wallet... been using the Flipside for a long time and thinking of getting a different wallet...
Definitely. I love the Flipside but I get bored with only 1 wallet. Lol
Trayvax wallets are beautiful...actually the most attractive wallets out in my opinion. But just know they suck for chip cards. I’ve learned if the wallet doesn’t have a way to keep the cards from touching, I’m doomed. Can’t tell you how many cards I’ve had to replace. Just ordered the Dango M1 Maverick Bi-Fold. Hoping it’s works much better for me.
Your cards will still touch in the Maverick unless you put your chip cards in one of the bifold pockets solo. That’s the only way to save your chips
Chrispy Things thanks for that info. I think what I’m going to do is place the two cards I use the most in their on front sleeves with their backs to each other. That way the chips and card numbers are against something soft.
If your id card face is visible what prevents damages to it from constantly sliding cards in and out
I want this wallet so bad
Which color is this in the trayvax contour wallets?
It looks nice! But I do like my ridge
Ridge is better
Returning the Ridge (with 5 days remaining in return window) and buying this. Ridge’s money strap is not smooth and easy for adding/removing bills. Cash gets in the way of the card-removal notch and always having to readjust cash position. Conntour wallet concept looks so much better.
How do you feel this compares to the Dango M1 you previously reviewed?
sansreazon Both are amazing. But I said this is the best I’ve used so far and I mean that.
I own the Element Wallet (& yes, I got a free Summit Wallet!) this is my next Trayvax purchase. I'll get the gold coloured one I think.
Jason Scherer The Element is my second favorite Trayvax wallet. Thanks for watching 🤘🏻
Trayvax wallets are the best in the world
As of December 30, 2019 they are running a sale you buy any wallet you'll get the summit for free!
Richard R nice!
I am pretty much sold on this wallet. I just wish the lanyard hole was not there. It would look so much better and streamlined.
Hey man I saw the gold version is actually pure brass now. What’s your opinion on that? Think it will be pretty solid?
Absolutely. And it would patina nicely too.
Ordered a wallet a few days ago and still had the option to chose the promotional summit so I guess it was still working in August
I stated in the video it was only for July. Sorry I didn’t take down that link yet. I’ll do it tonight so there’s no more confusion
Chrispy Things oh nah I was just saying that you can still get the free summit when checking out even if you don’t use the link, so there wasn’t any confusion. It still works👍
I never saw any link in the website when I just purchased a contour.
Jeremy Parker It was a special promotion. I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think they advertised it on the site.
Would this be a good wallet for people who carry more cash bills and less than 7 cards? Good quality and yes I've carried a King of Hearts "playing card" bottle opener in my wallet and it is very nice. And impressive at parties!
I carry 7 cards and usually 8 bills or under folded into 3rds and still have tons of room to expand.
@@ChrispyThings awesome! I'll definitely consider getting one. Also great video man keep up the good work!
I really wanted to try this on but here in the Philippines, man you need cash more than cards. :-(
Hands down , my favorite wallet for the past two years !! I have a few other "minimal" wallets, including the Ridge wallet, and none come close to the Contour!
Have you tried XSTO?
@@ermal6157 Yes, I ended up giving it to my wife and she loves it.
@@TD-ty5du so im assuming you like contour more than xsto?
@@ermal6157 Yes I do, but I like the Contour over the XSTO because of style, not function. The XSTO is absolutely awesome from a functionality pov..
What color variation is this in? Can’t tell if it’s the stone grey or Mississippi mud. Thanks!
It’s gray.
How thick is it compares to the element wallet?
Brian Miller My Contour is thinner than my Element.
Is Trayvax Contour still your EDC till now? Planning to buy one. Do you still recommend it? Thanks!
Of course I still recommend it! Haha
And yes it’s still my EDC but I trade it out with my custom OG 2.0 once in a while for a little variety.
Dam im days away from buying a das offene meer nimitz, dont change my mind!
Lol. Do your research and I’m sure you’ll make the right choice. Thanks!
I tried to like the Contour - it does look awesome, however, I found, that by removing even one card and tipping the wallet upside down (strap opening towards the floor), all the cards would fall out. It seems that the Contour needs ALL the cards inside the wallet to keep up the resistance in order that the other cards don’t fall out. I actually switched to Trayvax’s Ascent wallet which is slimmer and looks better.
When you adjust the leather do you take the whole top plate off?? Or just loosen up a few and slide it in or out??
Just loosen. One side at a time.
Chrispy Things Ok! Thanks for the info. I just picked up the contour, cinch belt and keydex. Can’t wait for them to show up!
Big Cheese Wow! I still want to try the cinch belt. Let me know how it is. I’m rockin a Slidebelt at the moment. I like it.
Are you planning on doing review on Contour Light (Unholy)
I’m not. I included both new Contour wallets in an EDC haul video last month and said I’m probably not doing a review on them.
They function exactly the same as previous Contours except no lanyard attachment. I’m sure I’ll do something with them in the future though
I was going to buy a Fantom R but it dosent have a bottle opener and I lost mine... Only thing is I'm not sure the contour is really RFID protected by this relatively thin metal frame? Have you ever tried scanning one card while it's inside the wallet ?
I’ve tried using a hotel card against a scanner and it didn’t work but nothing official
I'm going to forever hope trayvax never goes under while I think of something good to have engraved on one I wanna order so, so badly!
Interested
Since the contour has the cards mostly in the open, just holds the cards around the edges, compared to other wallets that encloses the cards from all sides. (To clarify I mean it protects the face and back of the card) Do you believe it’ll cause more wear and tear on the cards? I work in construction so I’m hesitant on getting one due to damaging my cards more.
Anyone has any recommendations on wallets I’m in-between choosing a contour, a ridge, a flipside or a secrid. Obviously they’re all different styles but maybe y’all tried them all and the effects it has had on cards, especially embossed cards, long term. Did the strip start wearing out did the numbers start erasing is the card peeling etc
I’ve done reviews on all of those wallets except secrid. I’m a fan of all of them. I dont believe this wallet will scratch up cards more than any other one that requires cards to be next to each other however.
Alright if I do decide on a contour hopefully it don’t dirty as much due to its openness and yes I’ve been watching your videos to help me decide lol very helpful appreciate the reply
Brazy Flow Awesome! I appreciate your support. I hope the Contour works out for you. As you know I love it.
Brazy Flow The Contour WILL scratch the topmost card - the action of pulling the card in and out causes the card to rub against the metal. I have the Contour and stopped using after just one day purely for this reason. Additionally, where the clasp is on the Contour, is directly above where a debit/credit card’s chip is so the chip will undoubtedly become damaged over time with the constant open and closing of the clasp. I switched to the Ascent in the end.
deans6571 I have to disagree with this. If you look at the design of the Contour there are adjustable leather straps that act as buffers from the top card making contact complete contact with the metal. It’s a better design than say the Ridge that the cards are always rubbing on the frame.
How I miss proper paper money. Here in uk is plastic crap now
Good vid. But the ridge wallet is by far the best minimalist wallet out there.
Isn’t it made in China though?
@@mew00501011
Ya it’s made in China.
But it’s well built and very rugged. I’ve had mine for 6 yrs now and I haven’t had one issue with it. And as far as I can tell it’ll last me a lifetime. So I feel that it’s the best value out there for a true minimalist wallet.
So, I was wondering how it could block RFID when it’s all open at the back!!!
It probably only RFID resistant if anything. 2 sided metal wallets have better resistance.
Lüvv Sürya if you face the leather inward and the metal outward while in your pocket. It will block the RFID from being stolen.
RFID isn't even an issue anymore nearly no cards are made with technology that is skimable anymore
I was wondering, do you still use your Contour, Chrispy? It's been just over a year and I've been wondering how it's holding up!
I absolutely still use it but I’m carrying the brass version now. These wallets are bulletproof. You could carry one for years and they’ll still hold up. And if for some reason it doesn’t, it has a 65 year warranty.
@@ChrispyThings Awesome! The fact that you enjoy it enough to still be carrying yours, is making me seriously consider getting I one myself. Thanks for the answer!
I love this wallet, but I want my cash covered
How did you get the leather engraved? I see they don't offer that on their site.
They offered it.
I wasn’t aware that they stopped
@@ChrispyThings I think it was something I overlooked, it looks like certain options take it away, maybe the titanium option idk I'll double check.
Thanks.
Would this be uncomfortable in your back pocket? I realize it's designed for the front pocket but my front pockets are full
Walking around in your back pocket, not uncomfortable at all.
But sitting? Don’t. Lol
@@ChrispyThings darn what a shame I love that wallet but can't rly do front pocket carry
Will it fit the 10 cards?
Easily.
Trayvax compared to the ridge wallet which one did you prefer???
The Contour is currently my edc.
Chrispy Things who won the free wallet G???
Check my Community section as it says in the video.
Chrispy Things shoot your spare wallet my way 🤣😜 or the ridge or trayvax 😅😅😂
Love it but i am way to cheap to buy a wallet at this price
Is that the Mississippi mud color?
Nick Kaz I believe so. Do you have a Contour?
Does the trayvax have a magnetic 🧲 option for phone
Not that I know of
@@ChrispyThings thank you
except the perfect high quality of the material, I still feel it is too thick to put into the front pocket of my jean
How does it RFID protect? the chip is exposed
Dean Steckbeck the chip generally has nothing to do with an rfid reader. Every single card I e ever had to tap against a reader is magnetic. That’s the reason chip cards need to be inserted.
Not enough cash room for me and I can't help but think how they thought it was a good idea to add that damn key ring.. :/
Otherwise I would consider it. Also I heard the screws strip easily when tightening and loosening.
Ugh I’m torn between a Dango M1 Bifold “Spec Ops” of the trayvax Concour 🧐🧐🧐.....
M1 Spec ops bifold is a much beefier wallet than the Contour which is more of a minimalist wallet. Depends on what you’re aiming for.
They are both beautiful, I’m using the ridge wallet now wanted to switch things up, I watched all your videos on them and i am still having a hard time picking haha I do prefer compact but the Dango looks bad ass
Justin Croce Tough choices brutha!
The ascent doesn't have a bottle opener?
No it doesn’t have one.
@@ChrispyThings I know it doesnt I had one before my contour. You said it has one in there. Guessing just slip up in speech.
Trayvax makes great wallet and it is Made in AMERICA with a Impressive warranty but i don't see why they say it is RFID resistant or protected.. You can clearly see the chip not being cover by any aluminum or any metal/steel. I like Trayvax but i don't get part of RFID protected when the chip is obviously unprotected.
Nikko Ataylar It seems that skimmers can only steal data from the magnetic strip. The only way to steal it from the chip is to dip the card into a reader. If the reader is fake then they can steal from the chip.
I’ve been trying to find a cheap solution to testing out the rfid protection. Some have suggested going to a hotel room each time but that’s silly. I’m not renting a room each time I record a vid.
RFID uses an antenna that wraps around the edge of the card. Take a look at this picture
cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1066/9566/files/RFID_Card_large.jpg?v=1492638109
But, also, RFID protection is useless. It’s a marketing tactic. There is not a single reported instance of someone’s card number being stolen through RFID ( and not just for informational purposes). It’s just not worth anyone’s time
Any new news on the giveaway?
Jeffrey Weyrauch I’ll let everyone know when the time comes. I have a 7k subscriber giveaway coming up. Maybe the contour at 8k???
how much bigger is this then the ridge?
About the same size
Chrispy Things ok someone else told me contour is way bigger
How does this compare to the ridge wallet?
There are many similarities. Ridge uses all metal and elastic. Trayvax typically uses metal and top grain leather.
Craeftig I’ve used both and I can’t get away from my contour. It’s the best wallet I’ve ever carried.
@@reaganbaker840 Agree, I have a Carbon Fiber Ridge and the Contour. I hardly ever use the Ridge.
Damn that suck! Because I just bought the titanium ridge wallet..
They could at least give us a discount knowing how much the Trayvax cost lol..
That's not cash friendly enough
the design looks like a simple bag, and it doesnt seems very practical either, i dont get the hype. Anyways nice channel
I really dig this item....but this wallet seems to offers as much RFID protection as an umbrella would against a meteor shower.
Does RFID protection fall under the "Magic" category of the Sciences? Cuz 1 metal plate on 1 side of the wallet doesn't reassure me that I'm covered on all sides.
As far as I understand the signal comes from the corners of the cards. So all they really need to do is cover those portions and it’ll block rfid. I’m no expert at the anatomy of a credit card though.
Andar has cheaper wallets that have a button to fan out the cards quicker. Nothing beats that convenience imo
It’s tough to find a push button wallet better than the Contour.
Ive reviewed a few
@@ChrispyThings I guess I'd rather have the convenience of having my cards fanned out for me instead of undoing a latch and sifting through the cards manually
It’s a good feature yes. But the novelty wears thin fast. Plus the asthetics and shape of push button wallets are never as pretty in my opinion. But they definitely have a place in the market. It’s subjective
@@ChrispyThings I'm not too worried of what others think but after almost 3 years of having the wallet I still get compliments. It looks and operates the same as the day I got it. But true, it is subjective
$150...? Hahahaha good one!
Worth every penny. I’m now carrying the titanium version that goes for 200 bucks. I just gave one away recently too.
