- Today I’m sowing Strawflowers (also known as Helichrysum or their new name, Xerochrysum bracteatum). I’ve chosen 10 great colours that will work well both in the garden and as dried flowers. I am so excited to see what I can grow this season.

Thank you Annette. Aren't they just Happy Flowers. A week or so ago l planted Statice with the idea of drying then. Can you tell me where you get your seed from. They only have a general mixed packet of either Statice or Straw Flowers at all the Nurseries where l live. Thank you as ever, you are always so cheerful and enthusiastic.

Thank you so much for this info. It means more to me than you know. Do all of these cultivars have "King Size" variants? Does the king size just mean the heads grow slightly larger? Or are there other mutations involved? I'm trying to find the cultivars with slightly larger, more oval heads
Hi there, I'm so glad you found the video useful. The King size are supposed to be larger and also more 'double' if that makes sense. I'm not sure which ones have oval heads, sorry.
@@cottoverdi one more question, sorry. If i decided to have just a single head on a branch (no pinch), will that single head grow larger than if i branched them out?
Hi there, I'm sorry but I don't know. I know that works with dahlias but I'm not sure about strawflowers. I think it's worth experimenting because it would make sense that the plant would send all its energy into that one flower if we take away the others. Good luck!
