The older Toors have a black kg gunkote coating (extra layer of material) and the newer versions have a black oxide coating (oxidized layer so no extra material added).

No one is talking about Toor knives, I'm unsure why. Just ordered the heavy metal jank shank wharncliffe because it looks awesome, getting another jank shank s if it turns out I like their m4. Great steel.

Mhm, agreed…. especially when it comes to hard use fixed blades.

Curious as to why you prefer D2 over 35V ?

    • @HardOnGearChannel

Just in certain cases. While I try to keep it super sharp and tucked away at my hip, sometimes I use my Toor Anaconda as general everything knife, but I try to save any rough jobs the 1095 beater blades.
Even with that in mind, CD I’ve still noticed slight chipping in the S35vN on the Toor. The specs of D2, along with the fact that many super rugged military/tactical knives (including some mid-high range customs) use a lot of D2-I feel like the extra edge retention and toughness might be a choice for these blades.

That's exactly right. Infact I have an older serpent & the blade actually snapped in half on me..
The messed up part about it, there life time warranty actually does not apply! They refuse to replace my hard earned money smh

      They're using m4 now!
Cruwear, m4 and magnacut are the best tough steels imo. K390 is also cool but not quite as tough.
