    Thank you, I always watched Chris Ramsay's puzzle channel and thought about making a puzzle box but had no clue where to start. It was really cool because you showed how to make a "spin" puzzle which is alway's his first move :)

    hi i came across your puzzle box while researching for my engineering assignment and i like the design and simplicity of the puzzle mechanism. I might not make this puzzle as i have a couple of other designs i am considering but it is probable that i would choose yours. thank you for the video and the build article on explaining how to make this puzzle box. i will let you know of the outcome if i decide to make your puzzle.
    thank you for this interesting design.

    EDIT : OK I was wrong. He did show the box mechanism. Very different from yours in fact.

  • @Ninja_Shepherd
    @Ninja_Shepherd Před 7 lety +1

    Have you ever seen the old puzzle/trick hook the rubber band cylinder?
    It's just a circular cylinder with a 1/4 hole all the way through. Plugged at one end with a horseshoe like shape rubber band (oval side facing inside the cylinder)
    Then a wooden cap with and almost long enough hook piston on the end with the lid end cut to about a 60 degree angle on two sides.
    The Trick is to show your friends how you can hook the rubber band (but you are just squeezing the tapered lid cap which causes the lid to snap back into the cylinder) which looks as if you've hooked the rubber band.
    But they don't realize you can physically hook it because the hook is not long enough to hook the band. Haha
    My grandfather made one as a child and I had never been so aggravated not being able to do something until he finally told me when I was 12 the secret.

    If you put the box on one end the rods would slid down and then you would be able to open the box!. Yes or no

    • @mwganson
      @mwganson Před 7 lety

      The trick is to get the rods to the outside. If you tilt the box on the left side the rod on the right side would still be in the locked position, and vice-versa for tilting it on the right side. Tilting it on the end would have no effect. The spinning action is what gets both rods to move to the outside, unlocked position.

      Needs to push his rip cuts through and beyond the blade - always control the piece between the blade and the fence, all the way beyond the blade.
