I have just received the Virpil Stick and throttle in December-Feb. Thank you so much for posting this. It really helps me see the potential this gear has. I have mine working just fine but knowing how to program the button to the analog could be huge. Thanks! New subscriber.
Hello sir. Thank you SO MUCH for this video, Virpil instruction are, lets say, lacking so its a blessing that people like you make these tutorials! I had slaved my SharKa-50 control panel 3 to my SharKa-50 Collective, and i could not for the life of me get the "Axis to buttons" to work. I then resettet the control panel as a stand-alone (USB) unit, and everything is working! Perhaps slaving the units somehow disable the axis to button function or i just did something wrong, i dont know, but it works now.
Hi, i know im late, but is it possible to set up the thumb stick axis on the Alpha for example, to send 4 button presses? So pushing right on the thumb stick would send a button press to trim right, pushing left on the thumb stick would send a button press to trim left and the same for forward and back to trim nose down and nose up?
Very nice tutorial. Got my T50CM-2. Two days ago and was wondering if there was a way to change an axis to buttons using the flaps slider. You've answered my questions. Seems Virpil has some excellent software to support their hardware. Subscribed. Can I ask where are the profiles I create stored? I have a WarBRD base from a year ago but lost all the stick settings when I had to install a later version to support the new CM2 Throttle. The throttle has sooo many more buttons so would hate to start programming from scratch. Once again thanks.
Hello, thanks for some great tutorials. Do you know if the following is possible (could not find it if you had covered it): I would like to assign buttons to the range of the FLAPS lever to the right of the throttle. This seem to be standard functionality in VPC software, where at 0-20% one button is pushed, at 20-40 another and so on, up to 80-100%. But I would like to have the direction matter. If I start in the 40-60% range and move forward into the 60-80% range, push one button. But if i move backwards from the 60-80 range down to the 40-60 range, another button should be pushed. So is there a way to set up a button which knows if you are moving into the range from below or from higher up ?
@@HavocCompanyClan I got it done. Although there's no 'result button' to type the button number into, it's done automatically for you in the buttons list. Thanks for the great content.
@@JohnCarlyle Don't forget to 'Save VPC Device' after adding the Axis number and Ranges, then you can assign a button number in the 'Button' tab to your newly added axis buttons!
Thanks; that helped; I am now able to create one single button hold when I throw the Flaps lever all up to 81%-100%, Perfect ... however when I try to assign this button (in star Citizen) I double click the Spacebreak function (originally assigned to holding x on the Keyboard) to reassign, move the Flap lever up and it detects the Axis movement from the Flaps lever. So what I need in addition to creating a Axis to Button is to remove the Axis from being a logical axis. Is there a way that the CM3 only functions as a button and not has the axis exposed to the Game?
@@HavocCompanyClan I actually figured it out!! I rehashed your vid and them worked until I got it instead of needing my hand held, so to speak lol.... Yes, I meant the mini sticks.

hello, thx for your videos. i'm currently using a thrustmaster warthog throttle + warthog joystick (right hand) + rudder + left-hand t16000m joystick setup. i'm really interested to switch to a dual stick virpil + throttle setup. the build quality seems to be unmatched. question: i'm very happy with the thrustmaster target software. e.g. i have a layer switch for the up - middle and down layer. the important thing here is in every layer i can also use an additional shift switch/layer. it seems on the virpil throttle you can use a 5 layer switch but can you also use an additional momentary shift switch with the virpil setup like it is the way with the target software? sorry for my bad english!
To be honest I just use Joystick gremlin for this stuff, it works with any brand on controller so it means you can have one device control shifts states for all connected devices

Hi Havoc, I liked the video and I used the first part to get my throttles set for DCS A-10C for the startup procedure. However, I managed to make a mistake when trying to convert my flap axis to a two or three button setup. In A10, the flaps are up and down, while in the Hornet it is up, mid, and full. My intent is to make the flap (Rz Axis) a three button assignment. Somehow I messed this up. On the main Virpil screen, the rZ is red and has a link error with a 130. I double clicked on the Rz axis and attempted to make a three button assignment. How to I revert back to when it worked? I did a recal and a reload of previous profile w/o success.
link errors (it is just a count of how many data packets are corrupted when sent to the micro controller), usually indicate something wrong with the profile (being incorrect for the device you are using) or a hardware fault with the device, best guess you cocked up and configured the wrong profile for the device you have
@@HavocCompanyClan I went back and created a new profile and the flap axis is working again. I am going to watch your vid again and attempt to make a three position flap one more time. Thanks again.
@@scottwhite9474 howdy, are you wanting 3 pos eg pos 1 = 100% - 70% = flap button position up ? pos2 69% - 40% = flap position takeoff , pos3 = 39% - 0% = flaps landing , if so set the button type to TOGGLE ON (it means it will only pulse ONCE when you hit that zone, but NOT hold button down all the time) , let me know who you get on buddy
