    Shawn, I just a light bulb this AM playing w my puppy. I bought one of those chuck it toys that fling the tennis balls. I realized I stink st throwing it straight. Then it dawned on me. I need a target to tell my brain where and when to release. As soon as I picked a specific target, well wouldn’t you know it, the ball went right at it.
    Would be a fun video for you to do. I think it would click for a LOT of your students. I’m sure if I put it on film I’d have a little lag and the release would be out past my body. Sort of like a modern version of your Jai’lai analogy! Check it out.

      Have a video on that with a hand held clay pigeon shooter and it’s made exactly like the tennis ball launcher for our dog as well; great tool and great analogy; will bring another video back for that gladly! 😀👍🫶👊

    Hi Shawn, i gotta tell ya I've been watching your videos pretty much from day 1 and have tried to implement your theories a couple times as basically it makes sense to me... I'm from Canada and over the years have been through no less than a dozen swing changes I've been decent with some crappy with others and everything in between.... last year I was going back through your videos and something clicked as i went and striped the ball for about a week... then i lost it.... no doubt my doing probably going back to some stupid old way... I've now had a whole winter to ponder this great game and a few months ago i again started through your videos... today the range opened where I'm from albeit I've been indoors and at the dome for several weeks but first day getting to see an outdoor flight and i crushed effortless shots throughout the bag my goodness it was fabulous....i just wanted to say thank you for your efforts man I'm gonna stick with this swing indefinitely on my road back to single digit and then scratch! If i get sidetracked I'm just coming straight to you for coaching lol sorry for the long winded comment just had to express my gratitude all the best!

      This is IMPORTANT; not to blow smoke up my own butt, yes, this is the way a human machine needs to deliver actions in the golf swing; the baseball swing, the tennis swing, hockey, you name it. What plagues golfers is the brain wash thinking that somehow we are doing something wrong and it constantly needs fixing. A simple game like darts, when a team was asked to send darts to bull’s eyes for an hour a day for 2 weeks got 15% better; and the team who tried to “make sure’ they copied the same action of the arm went worse by 23% and was a complete failure should shed light on what we do as golfers. YOU ARE GOING TO MISS! But stay with the task to the target and next month and next year and 10 years from now, you will be better! Pass it on! 😀👍

      @@golflessons 100 percent agree and in the end it's so impossible to argue when the result is so pure while emitting really no effort....lol i seen your video on the dart players as well and again makes perfect sense i mean everything changes when your able to have confidence to send the ball to a target or specific destination pick your intermediate point then basically your body can just adjust to handle the rest without much thinking i mean any of us who have ever had this luxury in the past know that when your playing for targets without thinking, then your probably playing some good golf... The goal is to be in that mode as much as possible and i find when I'm playing poorly I'm thinking about several different things like club positions, body positions, ball positions, and basically praying the shot doesn't end up in disaster and I'm sure everyone has experienced this at some point and man it's just no way to play golf it's no way to enjoy golf so I'm choosing the target path from now on and yes sir i certainly will start spreading the word which won't be hard as soon as guys start asking how I'm hitting it so far and straight lol

    Shawn, on the down swing, is their any tension in the arms, shoulders, or hands?

    Great video, I was struggling with release and realised my distance to the ball was getting too close. At 6’2 with long arms I find if I get too close I get so stuck and chicken wing flippy. I should probably get some custom fit irons as well 😂

    Hey Shawn,
    I've noticed your grip naturally differs between how you hold a bat/axe compared to holding a golf club.
    I've been dealing with hand arthritis and find the bat/axe grip easier on my hands with the lead thumb to the side and under trail hand.
    Would it possible to create a video using the baseball grip and provide some performance metrics such as ball speed, distance, shot shape, flight, etc., using your launch monitor?

    Always an interesting take on things with your videos. I am a bit confused though because it looks like you are not shifting your weight forward and it certainly doesn't look like it. Can you please clarify that?

  • @RobM333
    @RobM333 Před 3 měsíci +2

    So you are rotating to right in back swing . I try to straighten right leg then drop my left heel before moving upper body to get sequenced correctly. Then hands get pulled through, correct? So there is no flip or hitting it fat which is my fault too often. Weight stays centered? Nice video!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You should never ever think about how or when to shift your weight or clear the hips as this is a SELF PRESERVING ACTION based on your task to your target; see “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series” and “the throwing series” as well as the “target confirmation series” on our premium channel at wisdom in golf premium.com VERY ADVANCED STUFF!!!

    Looks to me like release is straightening the right arm.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Před 3 měsíci +2

      To allow the right arm to extend to the target, the left arm has to fold under it and YIELD. SAME WAY THE RIGHT ARM FOLDS OUT OF THE WAY OF THE LEFT IN THE BACKSWING!
