  • ZERO THINKING IN THE GOLF SWING-HOW TO LET IT GO! Jose Canizares on the DP world tour shot a 62 in round 1 with the singular focus of reacting to his targets and to “stop thinking about technique because it doesn’t work!” At Wisdom in Golf, we GIVE YOU THE TOOLS TO DO THIS! Now, one of our Master Teachers is in ALABAMA at the Cider Ridge Golf Club and his name is Jammie Lett; the absolute perfect name for golf!

    Didn’t even have time to practice this but did it on every shot today. Shot 78 only thinking about painting in the direction of the target. Two strangers playing with me said my swing looked so effortless. I was also hitting the ball further. 190 yard 6 iron out of a bunker. I felt so free today.

    Well I just want to recognize you for reigniting my golf game again. Finally I have found something that is simple to follow exciting because I can actually do what you say and it works. I have without a doubt gained at least 20 meters on my drives and about the same with my irons. However it’s not only that it’s the ease of hitting my shots that I’m impressed with. No sore arms or back anymore and I seem to have a lot more power from my hips.
    My putting and chipping is a work in progress and that is also improving nicely. Once again I am uplifted by the simplicity of the improvements. All the other videos up until now show the old style and I have never improved this dramatically so quickly. Many thanks and keep up the good work appreciated all the way in Australia.

      Right on Chris! You are starting to realize what I keep saying in that we are not defective. Eventually, you will want to make your way to our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and get deeper into it with important video series such as “kinetic chain” and “kinetic chain facilitation series”, “target confirmation series”, “stick your finish despite the ball series”, “pre-motor cortex series” and “flow state series”just to name a few! This will really help you understand and realize that the clarity of focus and the delivery without manipulation or force wins the day every time. All the best and thanks for the great comment!

    Great post (as usual)!!! Playing “golf swing” (swing thoughts) doesn’t work. Further to that, science proves when using the left brain, the body cannot move as fluidly, and is restricted. Additionally, Shawn’s example of focusing on the ball, is akin to focusing on threading a needle, which forces the body to stay still. Love this stuff, Shawn! A huge help. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

    Hi Shawn Love the videos, so I have a funny story. I watched a video where Savannah threw the club into the net at her target. I thought I would try this outside my house. Now I have an acre of land and there is quite a bit of distance between me and my neighbors. So I attempted my first throw at the target which was a tree far down on the property. Well I let go and to my horror the club was heading toward my neighbors kitchen window at least 60 feet away and a full 90 degrees left of where I was aiming. Thankfully it fell short (not by much). Anyway I learned a lot from throwing the club and adjusted my release point to get closer to where I was aiming. I'm still a bit left (I am a right handed golfer) but I hope to get better. This drill lets me free my mind to not swing at the ball but to the target. Thinking of going premium, the second I start hitting the ball 240 yards off the tee with some consistency (I am 68 but in good physical condition). I struggle with a consistent low point. Thanks John

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Před rokem

      Right on John! As soon as you get to premium, the first lesson is called “alignment reload” and then you go to “blur of club” and the “goldie locks series”; then you go to the “release” videos; about 10 of them; and then finally to the “target confirmation series” which is when you throw the club and don’t let go, you get a nice snap release into the direction you want to start the ball; and because you now know how that snap feels like, you can now STAY WITH THE TASK ALL THE WAY TO THE END!

      @@golflessons as far as the aha moment, how long should it take (throwing the club drill)? Watching your video with Jammie (awesome video, and love watching him swing), it sounded like it didn't take long with his son. I guess my question is how far/high should the club go when you nail that drill? I've thrown 4-5 clubs, and most went to shortstop. I love the video you and Mu (sp?) made, with the sledge hammer. That one I'm able to feel immediately. Thanks in advance.

    Many golf instructors emphatically stress the need to supinate the (lead) left forearm and wrist along with flexion of the left wrist during impact. Hogan, Rham, and other great ball strikers show this at impact. How can you consciously try to do this when the downswing happens in less than a second, and if so, how do you accomplish this?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Před rokem

      hey H! This has everything to do with task. To try and put the strings on Pinocchio back on is not an option and invites chaos itself. You are very correct in your analysis.
      See “hammer through shawn clement” as a solid task to perform this feel and if the grip and club relationship is too weak (which is the case for the vast majority of golfers with a neutral grip and square face at address) there is NO CHANCE ANATOMICALLY for the club to square DYNAMICALLY when delivering to the target; they have to release AT THE BALL.

    The reason that you want the highest speed of the club after the ball is that you want to be accelerating the clubhead when you strike the ball. Think of a car hitting an object. If the car is accelerating when it strikes an object, there will be greater damage to the car if it is accelerating at impact than if it is going at a constant speed and simply slowing down as a result of the impact. So - make sure you are accelerating the clubhead as you go through the ball.

      @@golflessons I am an admirer of your teaching and Your videos have helped me a lot.
      I was talking about the mental side of it, since the title says, Zero Thinking and LET IT GO. Finding the correct position in the backswing and shifting to left are a physical side of golf.. and it surely helps mentally as well. Thought Pattern like "painting" is a great idea, Thanks. But when we talk about ZERO Thinking and Let it Go, In my perspective, it is More about conquering my own NEGATIVE thoughts. When everything is going well, or things are NEUTRAL this technique will Surely Help. But when things are not going your way and You are getting upset at your own game, Mind starts playing tricks and your mind becomes your enemy. You may also call it MInd-Heart coherence. Expectations, Fear of Losing, or just Anger, all contributes to such situations. We have seen it with Great players like Phil Mickelson and John Rahm. And Pressure situations elevates it further., Scottie's Masters winning Finish is a good example. I would like to hear your perspective. @JC Lett You have practically did it in the tournaments, so I trust you and, I will definitely Try this method to experience how it feels. Thanks.
