    It is the weirdest phenomenon. I can go to the range and swing at full speed and then swing at what feels about 70% and the ball will sometimes go further but usually equal distance around maybe 270m. Though it’s so hard mentally to swing easy 😂

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons Před 14 hodinami

    Meant to add that your natural leg movement is so much more logical and easier to perform than some of the current teaching advocating rather violent pushing up against the ground with the lead leg on the downswing, like you see Justin Thomas do in videos, nearly leaping off the ground. It’s hard to try and keep the head and spine angle steady on the backswing, bracing the trail leg to avoid swaying, then suddenly making that explosive push up with the lead leg. Your swinging moves both ways, with the out of the way thought, is far easier and better for most of us. Thank you!!

  • @johnatchley9754
    @johnatchley9754 Před dnem

    I noticed your cap and head moving an inch or two higher on the backswing than at address, then down again in the downswing, then up again, and wondered. This video explains it perfectly. Like you say, golf is a lifelong learning experience, and with your great videos I am relearning the golf swing at age 83 after playing for over 62 years. Heartfelt thanks. P.S. I see quite a lot of agreement with the teaching of Dr Kwon, Director of the Biomechanics Department at Texas Womens University just outside of Dallas, Texas. He has the trigger move forward, then it’s push up with the trail leg on the backswing followed by push up with the lead leg in the downswing. It’s very encouraging to see this considerable agreement between great experts based on a solid understanding of the biomechanics of the anatomy. It would be really cool to see the two of you together in a seminar.

    Love the channel but I really don't get how these effortless swings can go 300 yards. Something doesn't add up, and not just for me, to others I've shown it to as well. Not accusing, just looking for more clarification. I should also be clear that it's because I don't see any pro hit it like this . They put in a ton more effort and only get 20 to 30 yards more carry?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons Před 7 hodinami

      It is called a HUMAN KINETIC CHAIN and this is a SELF PRESERVING MECHANISM BUILT INTO EVERY HUMAN! This is a reflex action that engages when delivering a reactionary action to a specific target. Baseball players experience this on home runs, tennis players on delivering aces at 130 MPH plus and long drivers and golfers when in the zone. The instant you add too much effort or feel the need to manipulate or guide or steer the shot, you sabotage this action on an epic scale. Golfers associate effort to distance where the seasoned golfers look for the opposite! See our “Kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series” on our premium channel for way more depth on this! 😀👍👊

      @allboutthemojo Před 7 hodinami

      @golflessons thanks. I will check it out. My question still remains of why you don't see any tour pros swing this way. They definitely look like the put a lot of body torque into the shot.

I'm a right handed golfer but have a medical condition called "drop foot" which means I have no flexion of my left foot. In layman's terms I cant stand on tip toe with my left foot or raise my heel. How do I manage my swing to take this into consideration? Sorry it was so long winded. Cheers.

    Super important for me at 83 having played for 62 years, now working to change from a neutral grip with straight face and bowed left wrist to your neutral grip with closed face while avoiding the error you show of the wrong type of strong grip. Your emphasis on the anatomically correct movement and showing that wrists in that position may look cupped but are not is genius.

Sometimes it feels better to swing (I can do it from both sides) from left and sometimes I'm completely "out of bounds". Just discovered your videos and am working to swing like you show, mainly not focusing on keeping the left wrist bowed in flexion and right wrist bent back in extension at the top of the backswing. Plus changing from a neutral grip to a strong grip. Played a round today and it works. Hey Shawn, Your lead side looks great after you finish the swing where your pelvis is tilted back in the one leg drill. I have read that Tour players typically have a forward tilt of the pelvis between 20-30 degrees at setup which I see with you (like water in a bucket being dumped forward). At impact, this forward tilt levels out or even tilts backwards (like water being dumped backwards). Do you have any recommendations on pelvic tilt and also on the importance of engaging the core, side obliques, etc that would help protect the back?

    Something isn't working here for me. The whole concept he's trying to teach is fair enough, but the numbers don't add up somewhere either on his end or on my end. I was at a simulator yesterday hitting with very similar numbers from club speed, ball speed, launch angle, spin, etc, but mine only carried 270 yards and total 288 yards. Maybe I need to get on a different launch monitor to see if its the one i was at, but... 295 yards carry with a smash factor of only 1.45 seems strange to me. Happy to be corrected though! I'm not saying he's lying, I'm just saying that ONE of our simulators might need to be recalibrated!

      The Foresight sports, although the most popular and accurate for the PGA Tour pros, does have some readings at low spins that can give you more distance; the distance you just gave is pretty good and very respectable; ours is calibrated at sea level and gives us those numbers and 95% of their numbers are the ones I see on the golf course.

    Is it me or is that insanely high tee?

      Draw with driver is best done on a higher tee unless you have a 10.5 degree driver or more, if you see my “driver for accuracy shawn clement” video, the tee is much lower and we are hitting straight bullet fades

      Are you swinging at the ball or are you collecting the ball from where it lies and releasing it into the direction you want to start the flight?

    For most people, this is not a good set up at all. Yes, she can.. but 99 percent of pga tour players dont do this

    Pure as Canadian snow - LOL. I love the WiG explanation of the golf swing. It makes a difficult game doable for the average person.

    I've been watching your channel for years and I've always wondered about how steep your club looks at the top of the swing. So you are saying that the club doesn't necessarily have to stay on plane on the backswing because it will fall back on plane when it comes down? Obviously it is because I'm watching you do it. But you are not manipulating the club in any way to get it back on plane?? Thanks!

      Correct! Our arm anatomy is designed for that! We have a fabulous new series on our premium channel called the “2 pendulum series” which you would enjoy a ton from these questions; see also the “throwing series” and the “arc blur unstoppable momentum series”

    I’ve tried your stuff before but I had low point issues. Trying it again now because I love the concept, but here’s what I don’t get. You bounce around with the demonstrations, but then your actual swing it’s hard to see much of that. For me, I actually do bounce around with my swing, so I’m clearly over exaggerating your feels, but I need help understanding how to tone it down. I wind up hitting everything fat or thin because there’s so much up and down.

      The key is in the task! Stick to a task such as whipping grass clippings towards the target, of throwing the club towards the target through the intermediate point; on our premium channel you want to see the Task 2.0 series and choose a task you like and see “unstoppable momentum series” to use momentum to deliver that task; when you use momentum freely, the legs engage naturally at your own pace. Not your job to manage body parts!

Success is INEVITABLE Had a great time time helping him improve his feel for the swing and unlock more of his potential! 😁💪
