    What is the loft of your 9 iron? I noticed that the launch angel was 23 degrees. My 9 iron is 44 degrees. What should my launch angle be? My driver is 9 degrees. What should it's launch angle be?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Před rokem +1

      PGA tour launch with 7 iron is 16.3 average; and driver launch for optimal numbers should be 14-16 degrees

    Hi Shawn, The thin shot can be very useful for wedges to have a lower trajectory and have more spin?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Před rokem

      to a certain extent! depends on the lie of course; but out of a fairway bunker, great spin yes!

    Hi Shawn , I’m a 74 yr old having a frustrating time after taking up this so called relaxing sport . As per some of your previous videos would you say that this clip is a artsy swing ant a body swing , as per your comments regards the arm club unit .thank again your the best

      hey David! sorry I did not get to you earlier!
      The game can easily come across that way; what I recommend you do is get on our premium channel, we have a great series called “senior series” which will allow you to find your max range of motion in the backswing to gather a ton of momentum that you will be able to use to throw the club in the direction you want to start the ball. Then see “throwing the club” and the “throwing series”, then all the “release videos” and then the “predict contact and goldie locks series” videos which will show you how to put the ball in the way of your free flowing throwing release to the target; and finally the “target confirmation series” and “stick your finish despite the ball series”

    I thin fairway woods and occasionally fat irons. Is that a common pattern of opposites ? Good approach. Thanks

    Hi Shawn, my iron play has improved since I watched and followed your teaching. My driver distance on the other hand hasn't improved, I am hitting my driver around 190 yards, sometimes my 3 wood goes further. Any tips to improve that? Thank you.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Před rokem +3

      What you are saying sounds proportionate; you would need more speed which means you need more momentum, which means you need more range of motion in the backswing to create it;

    for someone semi ambidextrous and left handed.. but has hit right handed all his life, but is definitely stronger with the left hand, in your experience, should he go lefty, or righty all things considered. as i'm watching this, and remembering your skipping rocks theory.

      If you are a tennis player, and your backhand is better than your forehand, then yes, consider it! I love my 2 hand backhand, frisbee throw, baseball swing, hockey swing from thenleft side and like you said, love skipping stones with the right and have a solid throwing arm for all kinds of sports and disciplines.

    HI, Shawn awesome video, Ball is Not my target…I throw club at the target but still hit many iron shots heavy? … single digit handicap…..hope you reply and help, ty.

      Hey Brian! 2 things that can FORCE YOU TO RELEASE EARLY.
      1-You are getting ahead of the ball on the downswing causing the ball to get too far back in the stance and then have to “hurry up and hit it before you miss it” causing that hurried quick and jerky feel with the right hand.
      2-Your grip is not strong enough and you have to physically interfere and mess with wrists and hands to square the club before it goes right.
      See the following videos on our premium channel (wisdom in Golf Premium.com)
      -Important grip update
      -blur of club
      -predict contact
      -the goldie locks series (build a bullet proof set up THAT FITS THE SHOT YOU WANT TO HIT!
      -Arc Blur Unstoppable momentum series
      -Kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series
      Big time wisdom here, enjoy!

    Hi Shawn I’ve been seeing a lot of the DOD king on the net😂. I would love to see your take on the driver off the deck?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Před rokem +1

      Love those! I saw Moe hit drivers out of Divots! These were 5 degree drivers at the time! There are some well placed applications for Driver off the deck and we have done a couple through the years but they were with the higher spinning ones; today, my Low Spin 5 wood adjusted to 16 degrees, spins at 22 to 2500 RPM and they launch amazingly well taking out the need for Driver off the deck even into the wind!

    Shawn should a heavier set guy bend more from hips if they cant get the trail elbow in a position to allow "hands first" on downswing? asking for a friend lol

      Hey Ryan! Moe Norman had a great technique for the bigger person; your arms just need to be more outwards; get all your wedges at 9 iron length and lie; you just gave me a great idea for a video! 😀👍

    Hovering causes me to have too much tension. Putting it down relieves my arm tension. I always brush the ground so my pea brain knows how far away it is.
