Yup the Queen put both William and Catherine through a lot of trials (including a trial separation) to test their commitment to one another; and also pushed Catherine into doing a lot of charity work while William - along with others in the family - were pushed into giving time for military or humanitarian causes much like she herself did during WW2.
All of that was before she would give her blessing for the marriage, as theirs in particular would be important as the Crown will inevitably rest on William's head one day. I think the Queen knew that the world is a very different place today, and went the extra mile to instil a sense of duty and commitment in these two especially - and they both rose to the challenge without complaint.

Even though the Queen lived a long happy and healthy life, she will be sorely missed. I'm so proud of Kate for having the intimate relationship with the Queen so she could learn how to be a true Queen one day. Kate is so beautiful, empathetic, sympathetic, and will make an amazing Queen one day. William hit the Jackpot when he found Kate. They are an amazing couple.

What I saw on her face was, she's grieving, tired and not enough rest/sleep.
Every time that I saw Kate and The Queen together, they seemed to get along very well. Kate took her time with the Queen. Kate does not talk a lot, but u can tell by her Demeanor the type of person that Kate really is. I saw that Kate went 🆙 to a little girl in the crowd that had flowers and a stuffed animal in her hands. Kate went to her and probably asked if Kate could take the little girl 🆙 to put the flowers down for the Queen. It totally was one of the most beautiful thing for Kate to do. I can tell that Kate was deeply moved in regards to the funeral and outside Buckingham Palace looking at everything that people had laid for the Queen.

Honestly, how many other women get the disrespect of being referred to by their maiden names when they don't do it themselves? Catherine is Princess of Wales now. Quit treating her like she's still a university student.
I wouldn't find it disrespectful because I grew up with that name. Then again when I get married I'm keeping my name because it's tied to my personal identity. I would consider hyphening my name as long as my spouse hyphenates there's. No shame to women who change it.
