- 'Historic Moment as Queen’s Grandchildren Mount Vigil Around Her Coffin'
The eight grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II have arrived at Westminster Hall to mount a vigil around her coffin.
#RoyalFamily #QueenElizabethII #LyingInState
The vigil by the grandchildren, from 14 years old to 44, is heartwarming. They mourn their granny under public eyes. Their poise and grace made the Queen proud.
Absolutely..

Our beloved Queen ❤️ is very great and she is deeply missed by all people in the UK and HK city.

Great Britain has the most breath taking traditions. People should be very wary of getting rid of things that carry on for generations. This golden thread can tie us so closely to those that have gone before. As an American, I have learned much from the Queen. How to put love of God and service to others as the first priorities of one’s life. God rest her
❤😪💔🇺🇸🇬🇧
So pity that Meg as American and the wife of the Prince don't understand this
Exactly...as an American I totally respect these traditions from the UK we just don't have these kinds of things here!!
Hey Christine, oh how so true, what you say, "How to put love of God and service to others as the first priorities of one’s life" her life has inspired me to try and live my life like that, to try and live my Faith in Jesus, much love from the UK
Bruhh💀💀💀
I never noticed before how equal the siblings are: 1 set of brothers, 1 set of sisters, 1 set of brother and sisters with the brother being older and another with the sister being older.
I am sorry for anyone that is not impressed by the Royal family, this is amazing to see. She deserves all the respect in the world. You can see they are truly sad of their loss.
While you can see them each hurting in different ways, this was still an extremely beautiful thing they all did, and the fact that they all decided to do it together as a family is awesome and heartwarming
I liked that even though only one of those folks has a chance at being crowned, mourners bowed/curtsied to all.
Must have been so difficult for them. We get to mourn in private when we lose a loved one but the Royals have the world watching them.
Nothing about this is meant to be heartwarming. They didn’t decide. It’s their duty as grandchildren of the Sovereign.
@@Quaker-tc8ueapart from one, they have every chance of being crowned
@@markknight1011 while I mean no harm to William and George, I'd love it if Princess Charlotte becomes Queen.
That moment when these 8 gradchildren bowed their heads, in total silence is heartbreaking yet astonishing to see. Definition of respect.
Put the old hag in the ground !!! She sat on a mountain of money while people starved! The lady was evil like her family !!
I agree
What is so astonishing about grandkids bowing in total silence at their grandmother's funeral?
Were you under the impression that they were going to bow their heads while having a grand old time talking to each other?
Agreed

Big Respect to the youngest one there to be so young and take part in something so important publicly .🙏
That was James Viscount Severn, son of Prince Edward

Rewatching and it still makes me emotional seeing this. I have no idea how they were able to do this and not cry. Much love
This is really a historic moment. It shows us that the traditions of respect, familial relations and human spirit cannot be overshadowed by a materialistic world. Mourners are focused as they were forced to forget about their mobile phones. A very realistically human moment, indeed.
Beautiful, apposite comment.
Amen!
The queen will be looking down on her sweet grandchildren with tears of love .. Family is family no matter what and these young ones coming together to honour their beloved grandma is priceless and shows how truly their love was and that it will always live on
She would be so proud

best of all, equal gender
As the youngest grandchild in my own family, I can't help but feel a bit more sympathy for James, Viscount Severn. He's fourteen years old and doing as good a job in this very public setting as his older sister and cousins.
Love to all of the family. God save the King.
God Save The King.
James, Viscount Severn looks very similar to how Prince William looked at the same age. Handsome young man. He did very well today.
lord be with this young man and woman during this difficult times.🙏🙏🙏
His sister is what 18?
Same feeling, but my sympathy is going to him losing both grandparents who were so close to him in 2 consecutive years.
The Vigils brought me to tears because it was such a break from tradition. Traditionally it was only males who preformed the Vigil for the monarch, yet for the Queen’s Anne was the first female to do it. Then they had, not just the male Grandchildren, but also the female one’s as well. She was our modern Elizabethan Era, she was Queen not just in name but in heart and mind. It was like losing your nan, I’ve lost one of the them and it hurt just the same. She represented us when we couldn’t rely on Politicians to; she did it mind, body and soul. The only person in power to actually live up to what she told us when she came to the throne.
❤
A very moving moment.....The hardest part of her funeral for me to watch was when I saw the late queens horse and dogs at her funeral, and when the queens crown was taken off her coffin, I couldn't stop crying.
Same for me and when the Lord Chamberlain broke the wand over her coffin got me too - so final! 💔
@Huw Wilson I agree with you.

Hello Sandra how are you doing today and your family?
For those who have waited and queued for hours to pay their Last Respects to our late Queen, and then to have been there to witness this.....they are all part of a historical event.
Very moving 💔 👑
This event will be forgotten in 3 months. The new king will try to hold on to the commonwealth.
This will go down in history as a never seen or held occasion before and will always be remembered so respectfully
@@Lion-xm5xp You reckon?
Doubt it...that's the thing about 'historical ' things, they sorta get remembered!!
Maybe all those mere mortals who felt compelled to queue and wait just won't forget. Why would they?
I'm not queuing, but I doubt I'll ever forget this very sad event that's happened in my lifetime.
We all are....
Historic not historical
I love the grandchildren all together honoring their grandmother the Queen. Absolutely heartwarming!!!!!
@@nataliafacury1971 EVERYTHING he has said and done since his wedding is controlled by his wife.
She needs the royal family to get negative attention to feel better about herself.
Despite what modern day society wants us to believe, tradition really is important. This was beautiful, and moving. May the queen Rest In Peace.
It's the blind following of it for the simple sake of it, not following it for the act of respect.
I agree, tradition should never be slighted. It is part of our history and should always be upheld

Losing one's grandparent is very, very difficult, and thankfully most of us can grieve in private, but these grandchildren are grieving in the public eye with criticism coming from every angle. Although I am definitely not a Royal watcher, I am very touched by the grace and dignity they have portrayed in this very sad time. Their Grannie was always very proud of them and equally, they all loved her very much. R.I.P. HRH Queen Elizabeth and may God protect your family & county.

Funerals are one of the hardest experiences in life. The Queen’s grandchildren acquitted themselves so well especially Viscount Severn at the age of 15. Both Prince William and Prince Harry looked magnificent in their uniforms and the ladies were very smartly dressed. They all carried themselves with dignity and poise. Such a beautiful but sad tribute. One can almost feel their pain. 💔❤️🩹❤️💜
He is 14
Prince Harry and Viscount Severn look so much alike …… All these Royals look so humble.

I really like your comment Broder
It’s one thing to be “loved” by the people who only know you as a public person but to be loved and respected by your family who knows the real you - that is worth everything!
Nothing historic about it. The only history is the blood stains of colonialism and imperialism in British empire.
Hello Beverly how are you doing today and your family?
She wasn’t just their queen. She was their beloved grandmother. In my experience, life isn’t the same when you lose the matriarch of your family. My great-grandmother and her daughter, my nana, died and we feel their deaths keenly during holidays. The two empty chairs they once sat in just reminds us of what’s missing. It does get better, just not quite yet.
Historical moment
What a beautiful tribute to their granny 🥺❤️🇬🇧
How brave they all are. I'm 62 years old and I don't live in the UK. I'm in tears, nothing but respect for her Majesty the Queen and her grieving family.
She was a good leader everyone choice. They world will miss her even the birds will also miss her . There no one like Queen in this world. May her soul rest in peace

Beautiful and so respectful isn’t it
The most impressive procession so far has been these young people. Under the eyes of the world, they carried on with their solemn duty and did so to perfection.
Well done.
I liked how, even though only one of these ‘young people’ will rule, folks bowed/curtsied to all.

A very heartwarming tribute given by Queen's grandchildren....The crowds waiting for hours to pay their condolences are so well behaved and dignified... This is a true reflection of modernity, civility, dignity and unity displayed by her majesty's subjects or must I say her larger family....She would be so proud of her Nation...❤️

I agree Nikki. The majority of us haven't lived through the passing of a Monarch and it just so happens we are witnessing a record breaking and much loved Queen. It's as important for the family as it is for us to take part in and see the traditions. Edinburgh Vigil gave me goosebumps and the look of utter sorrow on King Charles face touched my heart. He wasn't a king that night he was a son grieving his mother. It's good the grandchildren all got the opportunity to take part and show respect for their Grandmother in such a poignant way too. I'm sure Her Majesty would be proud of them
@@Shaz73 I do agree, and I´m sure her energy is still around and will realize the honour of her family and thousands of people 😇
I was so proud of Prince Edward's youngest child, Viscount Severn. He and his older sister Lady Louise didn't put a foot wrong, and stole the show for me during the vigil.
P.S. Prince William was very handsome and extremely dignified leading the procession. Very proud of Diana's oldest son. I have faith that he will be a Great King one day.
We need traditions like this more than we know.
I love this. Love and condolences to these young adults who lost their grandmother and grandfather in such a short period of time.
But look how long they had them 99& 96 what a beautiful love story
@@lindamills1189 I thought that after losing her beloved husband, Prince Philip, we would suffer the loss of Her Majesty The Queen. It’s tragic that their final years were stressful because of continued slander and threats. I believe that hastened both deaths 💔 due to heartbreak.
True, they lived to see the grown ones get married, and the youngest to be teens.
If Andy still.has to face legal issues, at least his parents are at peace now. The same with the media hounding Harry and Meghan.
@@cocoaorange1 Although Andrew was arrogant and behaved in a questionable manner, he never attacked his family. He also fought bravely as a pilot of a decoy aircraft in the Falklands. She was such a humble woman! I've seen many people throughout the years who didn't quite understand the rules that came along with being in her presence and I've also seen others who did know better but instead chose (for whatever reasons) to not abide by the protocol and never, not once, did she publicly scold or admonish any of them! When we talk about the queen, it often escapes us that she was also a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by us all and perhaps heart-wrenchingly by those closest to her. RIP Queen Elizabeth II.

Your correct, as I understand it, its the first time the soveriegn's grandchildren - male and female had taken part in such a ceremony. Great that Charles allowed.
@@michaelhayden725Yes. George VI’s grandchildren would’ve been too young (just Charles and Anne) and while Edward VII and George V had some older grandchildren, they were all still children, I think most of them younger than James here.
Just to clarify, in 1936 King George V four sons mounted a guard of honour. When the Queen Mother died her four grandsons, Charles, Andrew, Edward and David mounted a guard. But again the women were ignored. Princess Anne put her foot down and insisted on marching behind the coffin. The point I was trying to make was that there was no distinction for Elizabeth. Anne joined her brothers and quite correctly all eight grandchildren, male and female were allowed to honour their grandmother

In a world where the media would have us believe that tradition is meaningless, this ceremonial rite in honor of the Queen demonstrates how important these rituals are. So happy and grateful to see Harry in uniform with his brother. How incredibly powerful for those mourners in passing to have witnessed this.

@melchizedek44. I was happy also to see Harry in uniform. It was a pleasant surprise and heart warming to see all her grandchildren stand vigil.
How important is this ritual exactly? I see sentimental value to it due to its history but is it really necessary?
And why put the statement of the media influencing people to believe tradition is meaningless😂 hey, at least people in Kyrgyzstan still follow the tradition of kidnapping their brides, tradition is key!

Beautiful and moving. For me the most emotional and heart warming part is watching the young viscount Severn doing this. He was only 14 at the time.
The removal of the instruments of state, the piper playing the lament and the lowering of the coffin absolutely broke me. It felt all too real that Her Majesty actually is gone...I don't know how long it'll take to actually process that but it'll definitely be quite a long time. It truly is the end of a magnificent, historical era the likes of which will never ever be seen again. HMTQ bridged the gap between the Monarchs of the past and those of these modern days, she represents a transition in time that cannot be duplicated. 70 years she faithfully and dutifully served her people and the Commonwealth all while asking for no thanks in return.
The end of the Elizabethan Era, Elizabeth The Great...a momentous moment in history. Thank you Ma'am for everything and Rest in Peace Your Majesty, in the arms of Christ Jesus who I am certain welcomed you at the Pearly Gates, that beaming smile on your face..."well done, thy good and faithful servant."

This was heartbreaking and beautifully done at the same time. Grannie knows she was loved by many.
Let her name and love remains in our hearts ❤️❤️❤️ How are you doing ??
This is just beautiful. So much respect and love. I’m American and I’ve never been to 🇬🇧 but for my 58 years on Earth, Her Majesty has always been there in the world and I guess I took it for granted. I’ve always admired and loved her from afar and I send all my love and condolences to the family and to so many others who mourn her right now. 💐
Same, 58 also!
I’m 68, an American also. I would say exactly the same. Loved and admired the Queen very much. 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇬🇧
67 here never been to 🇬🇧 either, she meant so much to me too,I still cry 😢 I think the whole world took her for granted, she was such a strong vibrant Queen that believed the oath she took and served her Country till her last days😥😥
I couldn’t have said it better. You conveyed exactly what I was feeling so I will just concur and say I will miss The Queen whom was always there. 😢
Your INSANE . In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is King.
I feel sad watching this. I’m crying. She really is gone. She meant something to me. I will miss her smile. I am American, and like billions of others outside of the U.K. I mourn. Rest In Peace dear lady and may your soul be released in glory.
Seeing the people curtesy and bow as her Majesty’s grandchildren marched by them was a heartwarming and beautiful moment. ❤
Beautiful family, I hope certain members realize family means everything ❤️.
Respect each other and honor your wonderful grandmother, Our Queen by carrying on her legacy ❤️.
RIP Queen Elizabeth II
Its also not good to talk about someone child's look behind their backs. Respect from all members.
Exactly

So touching. I think the camera should have given each grandchild the same amount of airtime, she loved them equally.
Let her name and love remains in our hearts ❤️❤️❤️ How are you doing B ??
I love the Monarchy and am happy to have found this site. I can't get enough of all of them. Thank you.
What a beautiful way to honor their beloved “Granny” the Queen. My heart & prayers go out to them.
What a touching tribute 💐. How are you?

This was a very touching moment; they look so protective of her......
How sad to see them so full of sorrow. But also sweet and kind of them to stand vigil at her coffin.
1 Million + pay respects to the Queen. The lucky few to first see the 3 Sons & Daughter standing vigil and now the lucky few to see the 8 Grandchildren stand vigil.
What I appreciate is that the British people could see all the scene by themselves. It's so rare to see the royal family so close. Amazing moment.
Such a beautiful tradition they should keep
What an amazing honor these grandchildren have given her majesty..they loved her so.
