As a revert i understand what she means. I kept a diary filled with prayers and duas written to Allah before i reverted and for a little while after because at the time i couldn't pray and i felt it was the best i could do. Obviously as time passed i began to practice praying and i dont write 'letters' anymore. I dont think there is anything wrong with writing letters to Allah in general as only Allah knows her intentions, we dont know why she does it but we are to quick to judge

My bestfriend is a Muslim and she wears the niqab (veil covering her face and showing her eyes) and she is the most humble and beautiful person I know. I honestly find that video so insulting to muslims these so called modernistas trying to sugar coat the reality of Islam. I'm not Muslim and I have no place to judge anyone of the Islamic faith but I am looking into it and the amount of nonsense that these "modern muslims" make the Islamic faith so complicated and trying so hard to make it similar to Christianity just so it seems "21st century friendly" is crazy and far by me. To all you beautiful people please stick by your faith and don't let anyone interfere with your connection to this beautiful religion. Peace xx

@@natevic1867 It's a very big issue when u question and try to actually alter Islam tho. I dont like the term 'modern' or 'moderate' Muslim, but sadly it is something that has been created due to westernized views of Islam. We r not perfect, I understand that. However, if they commit sins it is between them and Allah. When they broadcast these sins and try to normalize it to other muslims, THAT is certainly a big issue because they r affecting the imaan of others.

Ali Dawah the point of this series was to highlight that muslims are not a homogenous group. there's clearly loads of cultural differences for example the pakistani girl mehreen (with the makeup and tightish clothes) and the Asians there were not as religious. where as the black converts were.
it's showing all though muslims all belive that they're is no God but Allah and the prophet muhammad is the messenger......they're lives are all different. clearly some to some muslims culture is way more important (example the Asians there). but others religion is the most important (especially to the black muslim). muslims can either be completely liberal or very conservative. it's highlighting that muslims are humans....they think for themselves and all have different opinions.

For such 'liberal' people, they were so racist. The comedian guy Nabil mentioned it in a periscope later as well. He didn't raise his voice, nor make physical advances whereas the gay guy shouted and literally lunged at him (he's a rugby player), and they said the black brother was being aggressive. That stereotype that black people are violent was clear in their minds. All the Asians were physically on one side (even the ones who weren't involved), and the converts and Syrian were on another. That really got to me because they thought the gay guy needed to be flipping mollycoddled and soothed because he's camp and were prejudiced towards the black brother. If you're an Asian, like myself, you definitely know the racism in our culture. Abdul Haq, although he didn't always have the right manner of preaching, was one of the most respectful people in that house. The others peddled their agendas: the overly liberal letter writer, the party girls, the all-superior white elderly woman who people shouldn't mention faith in front of, the gay, the closet gay and all the others who tried to please society so much that they leave aspects of their religion behind. Half of them were allergic to the verses of the Qur'an and any Islamic view which opposed their idea of this gay rights, free-mixing version of the religion.

Major respect to our black brother who seemed like the only one trying his best to comply and stay within the CORRECT Islamic regulations, even when all the others seemed to be teaming up against him for no apparent reason. It really looks like the brother was baited into doing a show with these crazy people that want to bend the rules and get angry at Islam and the world over their own shortcoming and inability to comprehend/submit to the truth properly. He did seem a bit direct at times but there is nothing wrong with being direct without insults and most people would have lost their temper a lot more with the way everyone was insulting him and shooting passive aggressive comments. Yaz A my dear friend you have no right to call anyone a real Muslim, just like anyone who doesn't have a right to call anyone a fake Muslim. All of our cases are for Allah to judge alone, no one else. Lastly, we don't know what's in their hearts, maybe their heart is closer to Allah than ours.

Muslims try to fit religion into the busy modern lifestyles we lead in the West and that's particularly apparent if you don't live in a primarily Muslim area. Do you wear a thobe and stand out? do you stop hanging out with your non muslim friends you grew up with? people are inevitably forced to adapt.
Some of the madhabs are more liberal than others and aren't as strict on things like free mixing and dress and unlikely abdul haqs Ijtihad if they want a religious opinion on an issue they get on the fatwa hotline.

I was brought up learning the shafi'i شافعي‎‎ madhab.
I live in the west too. You can still be a good practising muslim and have non-muslim friends, work etc. My non-muslim friends understand what I can and can't do and respect that.
Yes many have a problem but I don't care because getting my foot into JANNAH is most important, this life is temporary.

Yaz A I agree. I but i think its more likely that if you live in an area where there are fewer muslims that will impact your behavior, your mannerisms and your attitudes because we are all influenced by the society around us. If you live in areas where there are more Muslims living around you, you may be more encouraged to live a visually islamic lifestyle and there may be more social pressure to do so and in areas where there are fewer Muslims you may have more non muslim friends and a different set of influences and social pressures.
In the UK Muslims are split 50 50 between areas of over 20% concentration and areas of under 20% concentration of muslims.

Marawah.K I went to catholic primary school and was raised Catholic, the people who go to clubs and act like sluts and drink are not behaving in a Christian manner, ie not 'on there deen'. Too many people confuse culture with religion. Amish are an example of real Christians.

The umma is so divided that some people pick and choose what is haram or not . Everyone made it seem like Abdulhaq was an alien for following the Quran & hadith . He handed a leaflet to Mareen as a reminder and people said he was a dick . Do people not realise how beneficial it is to give a fellow Muslim a reminder &how does that make one judgmental . Tbh he was the only one following the deen correctly & so they treated him like an outcast . That's how you know judgement day is close because people treat others following the deen correctly as some sort of weirdo when in reality they are stacking good deeds and making their after life more pleasant.
