Garrett are finally getting it right with their turbine sizing. People in the know have very much, for sometime realised that whilst Garrett has rated HP based on Compressor like most, they have under whelmed / not achieved that without big EGT and back pressure due to small turbines. For example, my 7685 vs a g42-1450 makes the same power 800rwkw with 4-5psi less boost, with much lower EGT/temps and very similar spool. G40-1150 will be a great turbo - no need for G35-1050! Finally the turbine size to take advantage of Compressor!

@@MINIPOTHOLES ran it up to around 25 I believe. Made 500 at around 14 and 635whp at 20-22. All the engine had was a .140 low compression headgasket and arp studs. With AA log manifold and m50 intake. The 700+ was made with a PPF (Pure Performance Factory outta Sweden) tubular bottom mount manifold and their sheet metal intake. But all these numbers are 94 octane and 110 race gas. With the availability of e85 now a days you probably don't have to lower the compression so should make better power.

I’m curious if you take the bigger of these two 40’s since these seem a better option than the 35 series and I don’t want to big, draggy, and am leaning towards the 800 and if so what advantages does the 800 have over larger turbo?
