So why didn't Jeremy Melton go after the bullies who humiliated him along with Dorothy?
He probably killed them off screen
I guess the original script included details of Jeremy killing the bullies and the girls researching to find out the head bully died
There was gonna be a sequel where he would have, but the film didn't do well enough to warrant another film.
simple. he's an incel
He probably lost them
I loved how the killer killed the girls in the order of how Jeremy asked the girls at the dance.
As their responses foreshadow their fates and Dorothy is the biggest one who deserved comeuppance after her phoney attempted rape allegation
I loved how Denise was 31 when this movie came out (2001). Shes 53 now. I thought she was at least 22. I guess that wasnt that long ago if you think about it
Valentine is one of those horror films with the most satisfying and creative kills

It's kind of ironic that Dorothy got killed like she was framed to be the killer just like how she framed Jeremy as her r*pist

Facts. The killer's look is so simple yet brilliant, effective and terrifying as hell😰😱 as it was just constructed perfectly so it's not really necessary for a reboot. 😍😎💯👍
The cherub mask and the creepy looking coat are in my opinion what makes this a top tier design
@robertwye9463 something about the babyface mask with an expressionless face and the black coat makes him look so fever dreamy , off and creepy , when you think about it since the mask is about cupid ( eros) who's cute and the god of love that kinda means that the dude is good-looking and kinda dreamy but that won't stop him from being a psycho
Maybe I'm looking too deep into this

I’m just wondering why Jeremy didn’t kill the bullies as well
Before the events of the film he probably did.
They're the ones who probably broke his ribs they wouldve gone first tf

Deaths with Foreshadowing: In the opening, when Jeremy asks the five girls to dance with him, their responses foreshadow their fates.
Shelley's response: "In your dreams, loser!"
Killed while lying in a sleeping position in a body bag.
Lily's response: "Ewww!"
Received a box full of maggot-filled chocolates. Later used for archery kill, with her body falling into a dumpster.
Paige's response: "I'd rather be boiled alive."
Make that electrocuted in a hot tub.
Kate's response: "Maybe later, Jeremy."
She survives only because she showed kindness to Jeremy/Adam.
Dorothy set him up big time, claiming that Jeremy attacked her under the bleachers when they were caught making out by several school bullies. He gets his ass kicked and sent off to reform school as a result.

Fun fact: the actress who plays Dorothy is Steven Spielberg’s real life step daughter
Another fun fact, she and Katherine Heigl both starred in medical drama: *_Grey's Anatomy_*
Jessica Capshaw did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Dorothy Wheeler. 😍👍💯😎 Her character had a unhappy and miserable childhood due to her weight issues which affect her emotionally and mentally as it lead to lifelong anger, insecurity, jealously, and resentment towards her "pretty" and "popular" friends. In adulthood she transformed into a true beauty as she figure if she slimmed down she will gained confidence and lack insecurity but unfortunately deep down she still has that chip on her shoulder and childhood trauma. Dorothy is a complex character as it makes the audiences feel sorry for her and want her to win such as getting a chance of happiness in life but at the same time we want her to die as she was the most horrible and wrost one.

Dude. I walked in on my parents watching this movie when I was really young and it was the opening body bag scene. For whatever reason that scene stayed with me for YEARS (I was in kindergarten and I’m 21 now) and I honestly thought I’d dreamt it in some weird fever dream because all I could remember was the killer stabbing what kindergarten me thought were people hiding under blankets and watching the blood come out. Nothing else. Then I saw this kill count and nearly shat myself. I honestly thought my brain dreamt it up in some sort of whack ass nightmare. That was a trip

This stuff is pretty traumatic and haunting for kid imo. 😂 crazy how this movie with such bad reviews stuck with all the children who saw it.
Me, but with the intro to Rob Zombie's Halloween and the a portion of Human Centipede (I was like 6-7). My Mom didn't care I was watching the Halloween movie when I came down the stairs, and I always remembered Michael bashing that bully with a branch to death while he was begging for his life and screaming "I'm sorry". For the Human Centipede, I watched it around a corner and I will never get that scene where they are shitting into each other's mouths out of my head, EVER!

Ruthie didn't deserve her death. Yes, she was a witness to Jeremy killing someone but she never did anything wrong to him (I actually don't think she knew him back to the time of the prom). I thought she would've survived if she stayed in her spot until sunlight, if he didn't see her that is.
And at least she tried to get through to Dorothy that Campbell only wanted her money.
On the contrary it was a crucial witness who could have screwed up adam's plan because everyone would have known that "jeremy melton" was in the party and his would have screwed up the shit, nobody should have suspected. plus i find this murder scene quirky and scary, the way she was killed too. its has to add originality and suspense as well as violence. I find
that this scene and that of the jaccuzi are the best murder scenes I have ever seen in a slasher. so maybe if we were in reality she
did not deserve such a violent death but we are in a film and in a slasher we want violence, if there is no violence it sucks.
@@nostalgiafan3585 I don't just want everyone dying. The best part of a slasher is seeing if maybe, just maybe, they might live. And if they don't we get a nice bit of gore.

When Jeremy Melton/Adam Carr asks each girl for a dance they each state a mean comment right after he asks them. This foreshadows each of the girls' fate.
- Shelley "In your dreams, loser."
Dies lying down in a sleeping position.
- Lily "Eww!"
Receives maggots in a chocolate box and her body lands in a dumpster.
- Paige "I'd rather be boiled alive."
Gets thrown into a hot tub and is later electrocuted.
- Dorothy "He attacked me!"
Makes everyone believe she was "attacked" by Jeremy after being caught kissing him behind the bleachers. Adam makes everyone believe that all the killings were Dorothy's doing.
- Kate "Maybe later, Jeremy."
Jeremy/Adam lets Kate live since she is the only girl that did not insult him and wasn't mean to him. She does eventually dance with Adam and have a relationship with him.

I have to be appreciative of the fact that when Dorothy says, "I was fat!" James says both, "That's not an excuse!" as well as, "And no, you weren't!" Too many people use vapid excuses for social cruelty, so it's nice to see that called out, even in a work of fiction. Additionally, too many young people have unrealistic expectations of what they should look like- even in a work of fiction.
When I was in elementary school I thought that I was, in my own words, "stocky." This was mostly because I was naturally more muscular than other girls (partially due to genetics, and partially due to being more physically active), but I didn't realize that was the difference. I knew that I wasn't fat, but I also didn't think I was particularly thin. At some point when I had grown up some and looked back on childhood photos, I realized that while it hadn't actually bothered me (I enjoyed being physically capable- thanks Mom and Dad!), the way I imagined myself hadn't been accurate.
I know a lot of other people HAVE been damaged through developing an inaccurate and negative self-image as a child, so it's nice that the observation that Dorothy wasn't fat is just made so genuinely in this vid :)
What I love about Valentine is that it shows despite having a background, reputation, upbringing, social status, characteristic, personality, category, and image you can still maintain a friendship with all sorts of different individual's. Shelly, Lily, Paige, Kate, and Dorothy we're all best friends since childhood that all care about each other very much but despite that Dorothy was very unhappy and miserable due to her weight issues. Ever since 6th grade Dorothy had that reputation and image of being "fat", "ugly", and "unpopular" compare to her "pretty" and "popular" friends which earned her the nicknamed "The Big Fat One" and "Buffalo" which affect her emotionally and mentally as it lead to lifelong anger, insecurity, jealously, and resentment towards Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Kate. In my opinion I don't understand how can Dorothy be a social outcast. I mean sure she was overweight as a child but she was rich. I'm pretty sure if her classmate's knew that she would be popular just like Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Kate. If Dorothy had confidence her life would have been better as she will be refer as "The Rich One." In adulthood she transformed into a true beauty as she figure if she slimmed down she will gained confidence and lack insecurity but unfortunately deep down she still has that chip on her shoulder and childhood trauma. Sure Dorothy was the richest out of Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Kate but to her she didn't accept that as she wanted popularity, credibility, recognition, likeability, and admiration like her friends based on the argument between her and Kate when they both accused their boyfriend's of being the killer which is Adam (Kate's boyfriend) and Campbell ( Dorothy's boyfriend) as Dorothy figure that Kate was jealous but in reality Kate was stating logical and common facts. 1. She been dating Campbell for a month and she doesn't even know his last name? 2. She mention what Ruthie his ex-girlfriend, and 3. How well do you really know Campbell? It made her angry that she finally told Kate of how she feels about being "The Fat One as she rants about their personality and characteristic traits as she said "Come on Kate you always been the popular one, and Shelly was always the brainy one, and Lily was the fun one, and Paige was the sexy one, and I was the big fat one!!!!!!" And as far as you concerned that's exactly the way how it is Well you know what? Screwed all of you!!!!! I can tell Kate was hurt and shocked of how she kept this. To Dorothy things will never change and stay the same like earlier years ago as she will be always unhappy and miserable due to her belief her "unpopularity" as Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Kate will always have great things and happiness in their life due to their "popularity". Dorothy should at least be grateful for her friends because they all genuinely and sincerely like her for she was but Dorothy was blinded by rage fury to see that. In my opinion Dorothy is a complex character. It makes the audience feel sorry for her and want her to win such as getting a chance of happiness in life but at the same time we want her to die as she was the most horrible and worst one out of Shelly, Lily, and Paige. In my opinion Dorothy should have view Jeremy's invitation to dance as a positive standpoint as at least someone had interest in her since she wasn't really popular like Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Kate and everything would have been cool if Dorothy was real and just told the truth that she was kissing Jeremy. For example- ( Bully)- "You like it Buffalo getting hot?" ( Dorothy)- "Yeah I am it was great." Sure she would have been still teased but at least it won't end horribly but unfortunately due to her insecurities she did Jeremy dirty. She framed him for sexual assault, got him beat up by bullies, and got sent to reform school. Everytime when I watch the scene when Dorothy confesses that Jeremy never attacked her and her justification of why she did it really makes my skin crawl as it was just absolutely pitiful. She framed him for sexual assault because she was fat like what? 😕 She wasn't even fat in my opinion. Even though she confesses it wasn't really remorseful or regretful. Watching Jeremy getting his revenge on Dorothy was so satisfying as it put a smirk on my face as she deserved everything that came to her as she was the main source of Jeremy's public humiliation. 😏😈

When I was little, I used to love Valentine and the Wizard Of Oz. I would tell my grandma I wanted to watch Dorthy (I didn’t know the names of movies back then just characters lol) she would be confused which one I wanted. So to distinguish which I was speaking of, I would say “Bad Dorthy” for Valentines and “Good Dorthy” for the Wizard Of Oz. Thank you for reading this 🙃.
I love Valentine. It's one of the best slasher movies. It's something about it that really intrigues me. It has this sexy and guilty pleasure vibe such as the concept, elements, tone, and theme as it was just constructed perfectly. It was such a unique and creative perspective in the slasher genre. The actresses did a great job portraying their roles. Also I love that twist ending and that song called Breed by Snake River Conspiracy that plays at the ending credits. It was just a really perfect way to end the movie. To this day I keep up a tradition of watching it every February and I consider it decent. Valentine is a true blue modern gem. Jamie Blanks directed a classic that will be in our hearts forever. It never gets old. 😍😎💯👍 Out of Shelly, Lily, and Paige Dorothy is the most horrible and wrost one. To be honest the most sympathetic character in this movie is the killer.
Bit like the bullied victim Darren Mullet in similar movie: *_Tormented_*
He is. Kate gets a pass too, in my opinion
Valentine is one of those movies that you root for the killer instead of the most main character's to win. It also teaches you a valuable lesson to be aware of your actions as they come with severe or extreme consequences and circumstances as your past is coming right back to haunt you as that was Jamie Blanks purpose and interpretation of the story which works perfectly for the movie which made it unique and special. 😍👍💯😎 Jeremy Melton began life as a lonely and awkward young boy. He was also a social outcast at San Francisco Robert F. Kennedy Middle School whom he was deeply infatuated by five girls named Shelly Fisher, Lily Voight, Paige Prescott, Kate Davies, and Dorothy Wheeler. He looked up to Valentine's Day to finally find social acceptance, happinesses, and loved in one of his crushes but that backfired horribly. Everytime when I watch the opening scene it fills me with rage and sadness as my heart aches for Jeremy 😭😞🥺 as Shelly, Lily, Paige rejected him in a cruel and heartless way as they we're not considerate and sympathetic of his feeling's, Kate also rejected him as well but at least she did it in a kind and polite way as she was considerate and sympathetic of his feeling's which is why he always loved her and spared her life, and Dorothy framed him for sexual assault, got him beat up by bullies, and got sent to reform school. I definitely feel remorse and empathy for Jeremy as I totally sympathize for him as he was completely innocent the whole entire time as he was falsely accused of a sexual assault allegation as he got sent to reform school, a year later he lands in juvenile hall, and six months later he stayed at a mental hospital. For the past 13 years Jeremy went through a whole and full transformation in order to change his appearance in order to get close to Shelly, Lily, Paige, and Dorothy so he can exact his revenge as he specifically remember's their comments they state to him when he ask each one of them to dance which foreshadow their fates. Jeremy went through pain, agony, hell, and trauma due to their actions as he was publicly humiliated which made him overcome with rage and vengeance thus making him into a serial killer with the sole intention of getting revenge. Wacthing Jeremy getting his revenge on them was so satisfying as they all deserved it as they did not take full responsibility for their actions as their past is coming right back to haunt them all as they do not have no remorse or regret. 😏😈

When Jeremy Melton/Adam Carr asks each girl for a dance they each state a mean comment right after he asks them. This foreshadows each of the girls' fate. - Shelley "In your dreams, loser." Dies lying down in a sleeping position. - Lily "Eww!" Receives maggots in a chocolate box and her body lands in a dumpster. - Paige "I'd rather be boiled alive." Gets thrown into a hot tub and is later electrocuted. - Dorothy "He attacked me!" Makes everyone believe she was "attacked" by Jeremy after being caught kissing him behind the bleachers. Jeremy/Adam makes everyone believe that all the killings were Dorothy's doing. - Kate "Maybe later, Jeremy." Jeremy/Adam lets Kate live since she is the only girl that did not insult him and wasn't mean to him. She does eventually dance with Adam and have a relationship with him.
Yeah, I mentioned the girls' responses to Jeremy Melton foreshadow their deaths/fates
That's nice, except some dude named Mark Lynn posted the exact same thing FOUR TIMES in the comments section here.
15:00 It makes some sense; Jeremy's been trying to break Dorothy for the whole film and make her easier to frame.
To the audience Dorothy is a red herring as it makes us think she is the killer based on the argument between her and Kate when they both accused their boyfriend's of being the killer which is Adam ( Kate's boyfriend) and Campbell ( Dorothy's boyfriend) as Dorothy figure that Kate was jealous but in reality Kate was stating logical and common facts. 1. She been dating Campbell for a month and she doesn't even know his last name, 2. She mention what Ruthie his ex-girlfriend said, and 3. How well do you really know Campbell? It made her angry that she finally told Kate of how she feels about being " The Fat One" as she rants about their personality and characteristic traits as she said " Come on Kate!!!! You've always been the popular one and Shelly was always the brainy one, and Lily was the fun one, and Paige was the sexy one, and I was the big fat one!!!! and as far as you concerned that's exactly the way how it is well you know what? screwed all of you!!!!" That was a bad move on Dorothy's part as she angrily walks away from Kate which made her a easy target for Jeremy. If Dorothy stay with Kate they could have both defeat the killer and Kate will see who the killer is and Kate will apologize to Dorothy for not believing her that Adam was the killer as they will both be the sole survivors of the killing spree. When Adam unmasked the "killer" it is revealed to be Dorothy which shocked and confused Kate but their's a twist as it shows Adam nose is bleeding which indicates he is Jeremy Melton after all as he is the true killer as he framed Dorothy for the murders just like Dorothy framed him for sexual assault. The audience know that because in the opening scene of the movie Jeremy's nose was bleeding when he was attacked by school bullies at the Valentine's Day dance. To this day it still gives me chills and goosebumps 😰😱 as it was just a really perfect way to end the movie due to the works of director Jamie Blanks as it was just constructed perfectly. 😍👍💯😎

The killer going on the dissection table at the beginning actually has a few possible explanations.
CW for psychological issues:
I’m no psychologist, but he clearly has deep-seated issues. Many victims of bullying develop suicidal thoughts, or an obsession with punishment (the kind he dishes out a few minutes later). Maybe he was giving himself one last “out” before going on his rampage, or leaving his survival up to fate in some way. Or just putting himself in a position to suffer, as a scalpel to the skin of his stomach wouldn’t kill him.
My big question: how did he get his shirt back on so quickly?
Or...
He's a psychopath on a rampage against the people he thinks has wronged them through cruel bullying, and he's enough of a sadist he wants them to psychologically suffer by bullying them right back before he kills them.
I just gagged at the sight of maggots. But yeah.
Honestly, again thanks for making these videos. It’s what keep me sane during this quarantine. I’m grateful you do these. And thank you James for this. And everyone would agree!
